A list of puns related to "Thunderstrike"
Greetings.
I'm looking to get into SCE and I've read around that this particular box got released years back, therefore I've got a few questions.
Is this box up to date with the miniature quality? I heard new ones are getting 3D printed / revisioned (?), are the ones in this box up to date for 2021 standards?
I heard theres an original, older version of this particular Thunderstrike Brotherhood box, and a new one, is this true? If so, where could I get the newer revision?
I'm particularly concerned about the quality of the miniatures themselves since this is going to be my first budget box!
Thanks in advance!
Making my first knight. Just wondering what weapon everyone has been having the most success with.
Just asking.
100bp, 90 accuracy: if this move hits a grass type pokemon, burn it. makes contact
given to every electric type except regieleki and tapu koko
I don't think this would affect the OU meta much but I reckon it could get Luxray up to NU and electivire might even reach uu.
Hi all,
I bit the bullet and bought the Dominion box. Between the proportions on the new stormcast and the slimmer, sneaky Orruks I had to give it a go.
One issue I'm having though. I want to stick with thunderstrike armor as I prefer the look, but I can't find listing on the GW website that show which units have the new armor vs the old. Anyone have a list they can point me to so I can figure out where Id want to expand my list?
Not sure which box to get. Mainly just focused on the storm cast models.
As far as gameplay goes, what is better: the stormcast half of dominion or the Thunderstrike Brotherhood?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated :)
I played my first game with my new Imperial Knights army against Orks, and I found that the Thunderstrike Gauntlet was a mixed bag. On an undamaged knight, the double strength and extra -1 to AP was fantastic, allowing me more often than not to wound on a 2+ with no save allowed. But once my Questoris Knights were degraded to their bottom profile, the -1 to hit with the Thunderstrike gauntlet really hurt, making me hit on 6's in melee. I used the stratagem that brought me up to the top profile, and that helped, but I ran out of CPs by the fourth round and at that point my poor knights were too broken to fight. At that point, I started to think the Reaper Chainsword might have been a better option.
So my question is, which option do you prefer, and why?
Context ran out deodorant, and wanted to use the left over shell for a vehicle.
So far i have the sprues and bits i need, but getting things glued on is a task an a half, scoring the plastic kinda works but it is still too smooth, and i do not have enough green stuff left over to help hold them down. Any advice on methods that get the parts to stick better, would be awesome.
Weapon Name: Thunderstrike
Description: A futuristic weapon inspired by the blunderbusses of centuries ago. Fires a large blast of many pellets, with highest damage in class. Only holds a single shot, with a long reload time.
Class: Shotgun
Ammo Type: Shotgun Ammo
Attachments: Close Range Optics, Shotgun Bolt [Decreases reload time], Hop up: Cannon Shot
Rough Stats:
-Damage: 10
-Headshot Modifier: 1.75x
-Pellet Count: 15
-Reload Speed: 4 seconds stock. -.3s per shotgun bolt.
-Handling: Same handling stats as all shotguns. Virtually no notable recoil, though the gun bounces rather high from the single shot it's mostly visual and you couldn't fire a follow up shot anyways.
Hop Up - Cannon Shot: Can be equipped to the Thunderstrike and Mastiff. Acts as an alternate firemode.
On the Thunderstrike, it fires out a single large cannon ball, acting as a giant slug that deals 120 damage, but is incapable of headshots. The cannonball has heavy drop but is a projectile with no damage falloff, as long range snipes are basically impossible considering it's a giant cannonball with the drop of a caustic gas grenade. The cannonball explodes into shrapnel of 12 "pellets" that deal 5 damage, on impact of any surface. The cannonball applies some basic knockback when it hits players.
On the Mastiff, it groups the pellets into a smaller rectangular slug. Internally, the gun fires twice in rapid succession, bundling the pellets into a super slug that deals immense damage. The problem is that the grouping only lasts close to medium range, and then a small mid-air expulsion of energy occurs scattering the pellets so far apart its near impossible for even 2 to hit the same target. The slug also takes 2 ammo, and lowers the firerate of the mastiff by 1 shotgun bolts worth of stage. The mastiff will fire regularly if you only have 1 shot in the magazine.
This weapon will fill basically the only gap in the shotguns that is possible. A single shot high damage weapon. Mastiff and PK fill similar roles with only mild differences, the Mozambique and EVA now fill similar roles [The mozam used to fill the role of the useless weapon, or the weird gimmick hammerpoint weapon.] And of course the Eva fills the semi auto high rof role [And with double tap trigger, the burst shotgun too.]
3 drop deployment. Strategy is to push the main block of Clanrats up the board to control the center and screen the big shooters. Stormfiends and cannon will be supported/buffed by warlock near the rear and shoot high priority targets. Warpseer will be in the thick of things with the clanrats slinging warpgale at scary things such as Gotrek and buffing himself with flaming sword or mystic shielding when necessary. He will also be a command point battery and be using 1 command point every turn to make everything within 26 inches immune to battleshock and suppressing enemy casters with -1 to cast within 13 inches.
The acolytes will follow the other two units of clanrats and flank a weak side or take objectives. Possibly utilizing gnawholes but I primarily just use them for psychological warfare, area denial, and casting buffs.
