A list of puns related to "Third Molar"
I donβt have a dentist or dental insurance. What would be the best option to have my third molars removed without shelling out thousands? Would going to TJ be a decent option?
"Well that's an inconvenient tooth"
2 years ago, had root canal + crown. The crown broke the same night, an after several failed attemps to install a replacement due to 'not having enough space'. Just leaved a 'flat surface' in there.
That surface just broke, and apparently there's cavity underneath due to 'not finishing the crown procedure' and the endodontic being done 'too short' (saw in the x rays).
I have consulted 3 paid dentists, and they all gave different answers
1.- drill the molar down further, to make space and install a crown
2.- remove the molar + implant
3.- remove the molar + re-arrange the horizontal third molar in place of the second through orthodontics. may consider #1 although there's some damage to it
Do you think these are good answers? is there any better that the other somehow?

Greetings dentists of reddit,
I have recently gone to a dental consultation and my dentist suggested me to pull all 8 of my second/third molars. Although my dentist's explanation was great and I have a pretty good idea of this might be the best idea since all of my second molars are crowded into weird positions. But before I go through with this procedure, I wanted to ask if there's anything I should be aware of such as the follow up procedure needs to be done after the extraction? Would I eventually need implants to keep my bone in shape? Please give any advice or concern you might have as well.
Thank you all so much!!
Hi Dentists of Reddit,
My dentist recommended that we have to extract my 2 third molars. She said it doesnβt require surgery and it will just be a typical extraction. But I am paranoid, is it okay to just do a typical extraction it itβs wisdom tooth? Mine is not impacted it looks likes itβs full grown.
*Also I think it is important to note that i am currently undergoing TMD treatment. I have to wear dental splint for 6months(i am already on the 2nd month yeyy). After this the third molars extraction. Then lastly, braces. **
Completed a non-surgical extraction of lower right second and third molars, patient has a numb chin three weeks later and some intermittent pain. Extensive preop info and consent on IAN trauma (close but not involved, likely crush trauma). Heβs now complaining about the cost of seeing a maxfacs for management. First time this has happened, how to proceed?
The title says it all.
Male, 21 years old, height 5'6'', weight 154 pounds, non alcoholic, no smoker, no current medical issues, no current medication. Round mass in the left cheek, inferior half.
I had my left inferior third molar extracted on April 6th and it was more traumatic than the others. The next day I felt a round mass in my cheek from the inferior part of the extraction. A week has passed and it is still there.
It doesn't hurt at touch, its measures are 2x1x1 inches, it's really annoying, it starts hurting when I speak for some minutes or if I make facial gestures or if I move my head. It feels like rubber. Sometimes, when I press it, it drains a little of blood from the suture. My brother have them too but, because of his skin color, it looks yellow-ish around this mass. It looks like a little swelling but nothing important in sight. The suture doesn't hurt, doesn't smell bad, and it's not red nor purulent.
Personally, I think it's a blood collection. In this case, what should I do? Is it dangerous?
I am quarantined and laid off so I have time to rewatch some of the episodes and I never realized this scene was out there. Natasha gets one of her third molars removed with just nitrous because local anesthetic βmakes her sleepyβ. Tears were streaming down her face and she cries into her bib at the end. I am not sure I could have survived that. You would have to give me the shot to completely enjoy the pure delirium from the nitrous.
Hi,
Just changed into my third tray yesterday night and the top back right molar was loose, but everything else fits right in and there weren't any gaps minus that part of my teeth. After reading some posts and seeing that this was common-ish I decided to sleep with these trays, but just want to make sure and ask the broader community if this is something common and what has happened after a few days.
I've been biting into my chewies excessively to ensure it fits in but I don't know how long it will take for that part to not be loose anymore. Any advice appreciated!
How do I stop my tongue from touching the upper molars while mewing , especially left side ? It hurts !! My palate and molar distance need to expand , am I right ?
So, Iβm a 24 going on 25 year old (F) who has at least one impacted third bottom molar. I also have been taking private voice lessons for nearly ten years now, and Iβm a high soprano, so singing is a big part of my life.
At first, I felt kind of excited at the prospect of getting my wisdom teeth removed because having more space in the mouth could lead to an improvement in tone and even more ease in my upper vocal range.
Then, I read about the potential complication of damage to the lingual and/or inferior alveolar nerves from wisdom tooth extraction surgery, and I got really scared, especially when I read that the risk of nerve damage during tooth extraction surgery increases when itβs being done on lower third molars and impacted wisdom teeth.
I know itβs a necessary procedure that Iβm going to have to get, but Iβm really scared now. My voice is something Iβm rather proud of, and I donβt want my ability to do it to be ruined because of wisdom tooth surgery. Iβll also be starting a job in entry-level brand management next month sometime, and Iβll need to be able to speak clearly and easily to customers and employees. I donβt want that to be ruined because of nerve damage to my jaw either. Plus, I donβt relish the idea of losing my sense of taste either, even if it is temporary.
I know that Iβm rambling here. I know that nerve damage, though rare, is still usually temporary. I know I need wisdom tooth surgery. Iβve already got a referral, and most patients say the surgeon is great, though a bit pricey. I know that the risk of nerve damage, no matter how small it is, is unavoidable.
Any advice on how to ease my worries?
