A list of puns related to "Third Army"
I'm a college student and I'm looking to possibly get out of school early and go the ranger battalion route but my worst fear is showing up to rasp and realizing that I was unprepared. I'm just curious if there are options to possibly workout/train with someone that can gauge if I'm physically prepared for rasp or if I need to continue training.
Demon Lord Nosgorath is tasked with conquering the Third Civilization Area with the same exact army he had in Gaiden. The Third Civilization Area responds to his threat by uniting. Who wins?
With approval from Nusantara for the purchase of a massive quantity of AFVs, the Sawahil Federal Army has once again begun a massive downsizing. Cutting down 150,000 soldiers, on top of the 150,000 dead lost during the ADIR invasion, the Sawahil Federal Army has embraced a strategy of quality over quantity. As such, while over a hundred thousand troops will be released from service, the Army has also placed orders for approximately 30,000 armored fighting vehicles. In addition to large quantities of Nusantaran-built hardware, permission has also been sought for several licensed, locally built variants.
Nusantaran hardware is already in production and has been confirmed for a three-year rush order (although it has been listed below for clarity). For other hardware, order timelines are as follows:
Year | KTU-41 Rangda | TKVv0 Fisi | TMUv0 Mwindaji | Silent Hu

How does an officer shape the fight? Practical, actionable stuff is what Iβm all about on this account, and I want to use the next series of posts to more fully explain the framework of the fighting officer. This is the mechanism that I used all last summer to help prepare new Platoon Leaders for their jobs (scroll through to see effects achieved as a result of these lessons.)
As per my conversation with @slayeraider about a year ago, officers are usually not βoperatorsβ or βshooters.β I rarely shot my personal weapon during any form of maneuver. An officer influences the fight in different ways, ways that are βcool as fuckβ in their own right. In some ways, itβs as close as youβll ever get to playing God: your words literally cause fire to fall from the sky. Itβs a busy job managing the βup and outβ fight while still being tied in to the βdown and inβ fight - but hey, this is what you get paid to do.
To apply this conceptual framework, I look to two historical examples of fighting officers: LTG (R) Hal Moore, of βWe Were Solidersβ legend, and Col. (R) John Boyd, the creator of the OODA loop.
First, the tools of the fighting officer. In his book, LTG (R) Moore clearly articulates the ways in which he believes an officer influences the fight. I have added βplacement of key leadersβ as a result of direct feedback from a senior officer who helped shape me. The other tools are listed both on this post and in my PL Smartbook.
Next, the skills of the fighting officer. Here, I teach a modified version of Col. Boydβs OODA loop to explain the mental processes I have found effective during maneuver. Iβll explain each of these tools and skills further in subsequent posts.
As always, specific TTPs will not be shared on this medium: everything here will be principle-based. I do have some very specific TTP stuff from PLT LFX that Iβm happy to distribute via DOD E-Mail. Get with me offline for access.
The "Fighting Officer", Tools part 1, Management of Fire Support Assets
βI do not have to tell you who won the war. You know the artillery did.β -GEN George S. Patton Jr.
The officerβs primary role, as it was taught to me, during maneuver is to manage the up-and-out fight. Primarily, this means interfacing with external units or assets. In the case of fires, a significant amount of assets

When I first started collecting, as a hand crafting and customization enjoyer I toggled between Orks and the Death Guard (who during my startup at 8th edition were easily everywhere along with Space Marines which I also started collecting), but as DG spoke to me more on the playstyle level and as I had tighter pockets back then so I mostly collected starter sets which felt like the best value for money, I decided to go with them. These days I have more stable income and thusly I've expanded my wargaming hobby, and feel like I have enough troops and vehicles for my SM and DG armies.
I bought the Octarius Kill Team box from a sale at my local store as a nice painting project, and at that point I could not lie to myself anymore about still regretting not going with the Orks. So finally I thought, maybe the new Ork Codex and units would be a good way to start embracing the lovable warhungry tinkerer boyz like I wanted in the past.
However, I'm unsure where to start as of now. My local store currently has the Combat Patrol box available and will presumably also stack the upcoming Battleforce box too. What would the Ork pkayets' opinion of going with these boxes be?
I remember a game on the original xbox from roughly 2005-8. It was a third person shooter focused on the present day United States Army.
The main part i remember what i believe was a tutorial at the beginning of the game, where to get used to controls, you had to crouch under wooden barriers, and go prone under barbed wire sections, before reaching a table with guns on it in front of a small firing range.
I also remember doing a tutorial on destroying enemy tanks. I think it involved a large arena type setting where i was allowed to fire a bazooka at a harmless enemy tank that was in front of my player at the far end of the arena. After hitting it, an NPC drill instructor would tell me its better to hit the back of the tank to do more damage. At this point, the same tank would turn on the spot and i would fire another bazooka round to finish it off.
Im almost certain it was a 3rd person shooter but it is possibly set in a present day setting (or what was present day setting for 2005-8).
Thanks for any help.
