A list of puns related to "Thermosetting"
thermosetting plastics or thermosets are polymers that retain shape once heated and will not remelt again, thus dubbed thermosets.
is it even possible to produce thermoset filaments?

I've read that thermoplastics can be recycled but their properties degrade in the process (why?)
Thermosettings are hard to recycle but I don't get exactly why?

What are the particles that can be mixed with resin, as referenced by the above picture?
I know that the slide is trying to show the different configurations of reinforcement that you combine with a thermosetting resin. The "flakes" shown in B are chopped strands that would be ejaculated from a chopper gun. Then, C is an example of individual ply orientations that can be combed with the matrix, and then D shows a block formed from stacked laminates as well as composite core materials. But what is A referring to? It doesnt explain what these "particles" are or how you would fuse with the matrix.
Okay I work at a small plastic injection factory for automotive plastics, fuel air release valves and stuff, and we canβt use more than 3-5% recycling in the process before it affects the QA requisites.
My question is about the waste. We waste a lot of plastic (reject parts, old stock that never sold, production exceeded the order quantity). Some parts are dual component plastic and injection molded together.
What can be done with the waste thermoset plastics? Itβs a bigger issue imho than plastic straws and single use plastic.
Hey just getting into Thermoset 3D printing and wanted to know if anyone had like a process map of what what all going into producing a finished product?
My background is in IE and just have to see the process to make it make sense in my head.
Thanks
Hey, do any of you know of a type of polystyrene (PS) that is thermoset?
It is mentioned in this article that some types of PS can be thermoset, but they don't mention which..
Got a nest thermostat to try and use with my system but it doesn't seem to work. Only have heat (white and red wire) It will turn on the heating system but wont get hot and just seems to blow air and turn off after about 2 min no matter how high I set the temp. I noticed a green wire in the wall but checked and its not connected to anything. Should I connect it to something (G or C)? Any help would be appreciated.
