A list of puns related to "Terra Incognita"
can you destroy districts with nuclear power in civilization: a new dawn (with terra incognita expansion)?
For the past 3 years Iβve known Gojira My favourite songs have been Backbone, Wolf down the Earth, Remembrance and Pray.
Even with Fortitude, its been the best release of an album i have ever experienced (from a bass pov)
However there has always been one thing i have been terrified of doing with gojira, and that is to delve into their old albums, the hype around them seemed so terrifying.
Well last week I decided to hold my breath and dive into Terra and i do not regret it, phenomenal album, βLoveβ is an absolute moshpit anthem, βspace timeβ is awesome and βon the BOTAβ is an epic bass interlude.
Needless to say, i learnt them on bass and i have a new addiction heading into xmas, if youre hesitating to listen to it, just do it, start with the songs i mentioned :)
I can't find anything even remotely close to the sound of this album. Personally my favorite one from Gojira.
Applies to Base and TI
When barb or army defeat capital, which space do they end their turn?
When card says, player can move THROUGH water, can they end their turn in water?
When barb has to move, letβs say 1 space south, which is water on the edge of the map, does it try the water then reverse direction, ultimately staying in the spot it started? Or does it act the same as if the water were the edge, which would move it north instead?
If a barb is to move north and that would be an edge, normally it would reverse direction. But what if the reverse is also an edge? Does it stay put or move in some other direction?
When caravan/army βcan move through water,β can it move through edge spaces the way barb jumps water if thereβs a tile somewhere in the path of the tile the unit is on? And if so, can barbs do the same or they always reverse direction?
Forbidden City, Sci IV and other cards like Forbidden City say to βdestroy rival token(s)β. Do these count as attacks in the context of having to return a diplomacy card to the player you attack?
Econ IV says ββ¦ then resolve card in 5th slot without resetting.β Can the card using its government boost in slot 3 or 4 be used this way or it has to be physical card in slot 5?
Terra Incognita Questions
When playing as Ibrahim, does other player you gave the special diplomacy card to, lose it if they attack like other diplomacy cards?
Does Ibrahim card count towards diplo victory?
Are fort victories the only ones that have to be maintained?
When card says βplace a control token adjacent to friendly city and then place 1 adjacent to friendly space,β are bonus trade usable only for βadjacent to friendly cityβ or also for the βadjacent to friendly spacesβ part too?
When a new tile is explored that would enclose a space that gets a water tile, can that water tile count towards the 4 touching spaces?
Automated Player - Base Game
When playing Aztecβs special ability, are cards swapped randomly, or is there a rule to follow for if/which to swap?
When AI plays America, since they wonβt spend trade tokens to move caravan extra spaces unless it can reach target, if natural resource is on economy card, is it stuck there until it can be used for a move or can it be spent anyway to get it off the card?
Carvanβs priority is βcity state for which this player does not have a diplomacy card.β Does this still apply if the city-stateβs cards are already taken by other players?
EDIT: Went ahead and bought Clash of Cultures. I still plan on figuring out Civ later, but I know for a fact I enjoy CoC.
I own the recent Civ game with the Terra Incognita expansion but haven't had the chance to get it to the table. I've recently played a solo/demo game of Clash of Cultures: Monumental Edition on Tabletop Simulator and enjoy the mechanics of that. Civ, I don't know where to start. Every time I try to start a demo game, I lose interest because it's very abstract in comparison. I think it's weird because I don't like the Age of Empires games very much, which CoC plays like, yet I love the Civ PC games and am not being pulled in by their board game.
If you have played both games, what makes Civ with Terra Incognita worth learning?
Compared to Clash of Cultures, which is a great, yet safe "dudes on a map" game, how is Civ better?
Thank you!
Hey friends! Sorry I dont have a screenshot available on mobile so I'm hoping describing the problem conveys enough meaning here.
Im playing as Kongo, the year is 1641, and not a single province has been revealed to me through the "discovery spread" event. I own 90% of Africa and my diplotech is 16 but every province I know of has been through request to share maps. I can at this point literally ask nations in Malaysia 3 diplo techs behind me what the hell a Canada is but don't cant see great britain or poland.
Is this a bug? I only have the graphic mod that makes text bolder but think it's weird the #1 great power cant see half the world lol.
My fiancΓ© is a fan of both and after playing Terra Incognita expansion (we both liked it very much, btw), he wished there would be his favourite leader from civ6 β Vietnamese BΓ Triα»u. He briefly mentioned what kind of bonuses she could have (also unique focus card), but my memory is that of a fish, also he most definitely would make her super OP.. bias I guess. Anyway, I still would like to create this (playable, and compatible with the board game) Vietnamese leader for him. SOO.. any ideas on leader bonuses, focus bar & unique focus card? Any help would be appreciated π
Trying to get into Gojira and I absolutely love Terra Incognita, is that considered their heaviest album? I tried to listen to Magma and I couldn't really get into it. Do they have any other albums similar to Terra? Cause those might be more my speed, thanks!
Hey guys, I feel a little silly to ask this, but I wanted to see what you thought...
I'm putting together a Scion supplement, as I've said before. As part of that supplement, I am working on a list of Terra Incognita (TI). I have a number of locations I'm interested in using, but I think I may be going about them the wrong way.
According to my understanding, TI function like pocket dimensions, raid instances, etc., in that they're a sealed-off chunk of the World in which the rules work differently. According to this understanding, I've been thinking of single locations where things are wierd: Winchester Mystery House in California, Pearl Harbor in Hawaii, Graceland in Memphis,, and so on. In my head, I've been coming up with lots of details for the individual TIs--for example, how to access the mythic portion of Ground Zero in New York, what gods have set up shrines of remembrance there out of the way of mortal eyes, and what comes crawling up out of the wound in the World when no one's looking.
However, I looked at the Scion 2e core book, and they group their Terra Incognita by city: they describe, for example, mythic influence on Boston culture, then point out a few strange places in the city. I mean, this works, but it makes it a little difficult for me to use locations like Mt. Rushmore, which has no major city nearby.
I guess what I'm asking is this: should I follow the format given in the book, to help give my TIs some context? Or should I follow my original plan and go into depth about a single locale each?
While in an ideal world I'd love to own both options, I'm seeking inputs to help me choose :-)
I read a lot that Eclipse 2nd edition is overall often considered way better than Civilization: A New Dawn (CAND) but also that the Terra Incognita (TI) expansion significantly improves CAND... but I struggle to find content comparing apple to apple, I mean Eclipse vs. CAND+TI...
Who has played the Eclipse 2nd dawn and CAND+TI and could guide me out of this first-world dilemma? :-D
My group and I love engine building games that are heavy on strategy and preferably with limited room for luck. The latest game we have played (too much?) and loved the most is Terraforming Mars with all its expansion.
I am really looking forward to reading what you guys think of this!
When Civ New Dawn released in 2017 I was interested, because I conceptually really like 4x Games. I also like the 4x genre in my videogames but they tend to lose my attention after hour 10 or so. I dig a lot of the 'early civ' gameplay and mid/late game civ I find less exciting.
So the original promise of Civ : New Dawn to squeeze that gameplay into a slimline boardgame package was very intriguing to me, but the reviews rolled in as luke warm so I skipped it over.
Fast forward to a month ago, idly watching a video of 'Top 10 essential expansions' and the C:ND expansion Terra Incognita was right near the top. My interest was piqued so I started looking for other opinions and internet consensus was that the expansion brings the base game to life in a transformative way. I bought both base+expansion in a mega splurge (it all fits in one box too!)
This is So my sort of game. Super wide in it's content, completable in an evening, Hexploration elements, novel action economy, and methods of interaction other than combat.
The main gimmick of the game is the Focus Cards on the Focus Row. You pick a card to activate, it's stronger if it's in the row farther to the right, and when you're done it resets all the way to the leftmost slot and the cards shuffle to the right to make space for it. This means actions you do frequently will give you diminishing returns, and actions you neglect will increase in potency over time. However only using the cards in your rightmost slot isn't your best strategy, because doing so is too slow and you'll be outpaced by more focussed players. And you can improve the cards you have by swapping them out for better ones using science.
What I find particularly compelling is it feels that all the available actions feed into one another, you need X to do Y, but for Y you need Z and really before you do Z you should have done X. So pick a spot and get going.
I think the single thing I enjoy most about this game is the Economy card, sending caravans across the map. Trade routes personified as a little plastic caravan that can snag useful diplomacy/trade cards from your rivals, or get useful powers from the neutral city states on the board, and getting the trade tokens to power up your other cards. It's great.
And finally, my partner really likes it. She used to play Civ back in

Civilization: A New Dawn w/expansion - Box has some shelf wear. All components are in base box in excellent condition and everything is sleeved. SOLD
I use Abecorn for shipping so you can rest assured you'll get the cheapest shipping rate possible.
For trades, I'm interested in getting Anachrony for solo play, so Fractures of Time is a must.
Kind of EP styled. I found a cool reenactment of the album cover on Flickr and decided to use it. Backstory could be a re-release from 2003 which would explain the logo and "Christian's" visible hair. Hope you like it.

I've been working on insert for Civilization: A New Dawn boardgame. After I've got the Terra Incognita expension, the old insert became mess then I decided to create my own insert and print in 3D printer.
Start with the box for each player that contains every item belongs to one player.
The content is; 24 x focus card, 5 x diplomacy card, tech dial, 6 x government token, 2x army figure, 3 x caravan, 8 x city, 5 x district, 34 x control token and a fort token.
Fig 2: Player Box Disassembled
At the bottom layer, army, caravan and city figures are placed separately and they are covered by tech dial. Goverment, district and control token are placed on their individual cavity and they are also coverd by diplomacy card. At the top, focus card hold everyting underneath. Tiny piece is holding with compliant mechanism all of it.
The control token can pick up one-by-one from the bottom. In fig1, you can see the cavity for that.
Same mechnanism is used on map tiles. This is also makes the "exploring map tile" easier since you cannot see the bottom one.
This map tile shape box is also suitable for another box for city state tiles, natural wonder tokens, water tokens and dice.
The resource token box has lid to contain the tokens and this lid has 4 round shape magnet. It's quite uselfull.
Finally, I did wonder stand to organize the wonder tokens and cards. Fig 6 shows the behind of that stand. I thas 4 section for each type and I seperate the wonder tokens underneath the cards to 3 three for each age. Cards can be easily seen from the front.
At the end, all of it fit very smootly
