Krtrs didn't really know why he still fed the predator. His friend had moved to a new educational facility over a perigee ago, and it wasn't like continuing to feed it would bring her back to this one. It had just always sort of been their "thing", spending their nutrition breaks outside near the cooling units, and sharing little pieces with the creature when it decided to join them.
She was a large, leathery creature with a (usually) vibrant yellow display plume on her head, and thick clubbing extremities for manipulator digits. There were only a few small scales on each one, and she'd explained that the vestigial keratin growths were actually more closely related to hooves, or defensive growths like the predator's thorns. One time, she brought the small vials of colorant she used to the cooling units, and they had spent most of the rest period carefully applying coatings of poisonous-looking colors to the keratin on their extremities, including the predator's. With careful management, Krtrs's brand new kkitri-like threat display had lasted for several days before beginning to flake and peel. His kin had been puzzled, but largely uninquisitive.
Hannah had asked him dozens of questions about kkitri, though. She seemed to love all nonsentient fauna, regardless of diet or demeanor. That was actually why they had met -- sure, he'd seen her around the facility previously, but he'd initially assumed that she just didn't share his break schedule. The first time they shared a class together, when everyone started walking towards their nutrient stores she just pulled a brown triangular container that crinkled out of her bag, and started heading directly for the facility exit! He'd thought she was trying to hide something about her nutrition intake -- was it objectionable? Illegal? Embarassing?
He still wasn't sure if they were allowed to feed the "mutt", in retrospect. He hadn't actually asked, and she'd always been vaguely evasive about it when discussing their nutrition periods with authority figures. A good enough reason for him not to tell anyone -- but that didn't make it easier for him to figure out why he still went out there.
He produced a length of seared, salted root from his nutrition container, and the predator took it gladly -- slurping it up and licking most of that side of his face in passing. The main issue Megumi has with taming Mahoraga is that he can't rely on anyone else for help with it. However, we know that Toji can pass through barriers unnoticed due to his lack of cursed energy. Therefore, is it possible that Maki could interfere with the summoning ritual without rendering it void? She'd be able to get cursed tools off of Megumi due to him having his storage, and she'd be capable of keeping up with Mahoraga for sure in a fight.
Not to mention, while she wouldn't be able to exorcise it with raw physical attacks like punches and kicks, I doubt Mahoraga could adapt to them, since they lack any cursed energy.
So this happened.
I was alone on a Shadowmane and got killed by it. When the mind-control buff expires while no player is in range, the dino reverts to wild instead of tamed.
You can then re-tame with taming bonus. The points applied while levelling the tame originally seem to be retained and other traits such as mutations seem to also be retained.
I play on a modded server and the admin force tamed to resolve it, but we did start taming it to track it via the tame tracker. It might also work on official, i have no idea. I imagine this will lead to people running around with almost max level dinos in under a day, so gl wildcard

Gorthak Pirates were running down the hallway, stumbling and stepping over each other as a distant growl and scratching of predatory claws echoed down the hallway.
"RUN!!! SOMEONE STOP THAT THI-" the voice was cut short in a spurt of blue blood, more followed as the hallway was torn remnants of flesh and swords.
The Captain barricaded the bridge, he looked towards the human child he had captive "WHAT IS THAT THING" he shouted as the child giggled...it giggled, it didn't feel the impending doom of a monstrous beast.
"TELL ME NOW OR I WILL GUT YOU" He shouted, the child puffed up her cheeks "Mr Cuddles will harm you if you hurt me, I am his precious baby, my momma said so"
"That is Berzerkin Alpha!! They cannot be controlled or brought low" He shouted, his head crest turning red showing his further anger "They will kill everyone on this bridge, including you!!"
The child giggles "He would never harm me, I taught him its bad to harm family, we raised him from a puppy"
Suddenly the doors begin to twist and turn, large black claws break through the center, it recedes to show a large set of blue predatory eyes, and its mouth is seething with flames. The beast saw the child in the cage and roared as the room began to shake
"Hehehe good boy" said the Child as the crew began to open fire with their blasters. Bolts of energy simply agitating the beast in its Frenzy.
The Captain grabbed the child as the beast tore the door open like peeling an orange, and the bloodbath that followed was horrific as it was bestial.
The Captain held his blaster to the child's face "Stay Back you monster, or I'll blow her brains out!!" he said, But as he was distracted the child bit her teeth into the insectoid-like pirates arm, dropping her as she ran to the 3 meter tall beast and hugged it closely.
The beast nuzzled her, licked her, and sniffed her for wounds before aiming its eyes at the captain who was paralyzed in fear. It's maw filled with molten fire as it breathed on the captain, melting him into slag.
A short while later the local humans found the child just outside the space ship, the beast acting as her pillow, its large scythe like tail wrapped around her like a blanket. soft snoring and bestial growls filled the night.

One of my 3 colonists got inspired for taming and now she can tame any creature, I'm wondering what I should tame, if this could be used to make hunting more efficient, and how much animals can I feed with a 10x10 rice farm + hunting. Right now I have 3 alpacas.
Make sure to always have tranq darts or arrows on you incase you find something to tame, if yout want to be extra prepared, bring traps as well
So I went to the swamp asteroid, because I'm running low on metal. I was promised some metal volcanoes, but what I found was a Gold volcano, then right next to it a Cobalt volcano (10 tiles left, 1 tile up) and bellow the two, another bloody Cobalt volcano! (Roughly 10 tiles bellow, 5 tiles to the left of the gold volcano)
What designs would you guys suggest for this? Should I do individual tamers, or try to combine them into single a mega-tamer? Do I try to make a vacuum, or do I turn it into a big steam room and take the metals out at 120C?
Transportation of materials isn't super easy, but I can fly over like 5-6k Steel for Aquatuners. Plastic is NOT an issue, but it's also, you know... melty. I'm currently trying to get some oil from the planet with the teleporter, cuz I might need it. Ceramics are a bit sparse... Oh, I got like 900kg of Graphite, so a tiny amount of Supercoolant is on the table!
