Can't decide whether to apply to Minerva University or Tallinn Technological University?

Hello, dear friends. I wrongly deleted the original post so I decided to post it again.

I am going to apply to colleges next week, but I can't decide whether to choose Minerva University(USA) - computer science or Tallinn Technological University(Estonia) - cyber security engineering.

About Minerva University:

https://www.minerva.edu/application/admission-center/

I have seen some bad posts about Minerva and there is not much information about that university. Education is online and it offers travel to 7 different countries during study time. It became accredited this year and before that Minerva was under KGI(Keck graduate institute). Minerva always mentions that they have a 1% acceptance rate and it is more difficult to get in there than any other college. But I have seen that Minerva makes the acceptance rate artificially lower. I mean when a user enters an email to subscribe, or just register on their website, Minerva considers them an applicant and makes the acceptance rate very low, although it is not that low. So I don't know whether to apply to this college or not.

About Tallinn Technological University(TalTech)

https://taltech.ee/en/cyber-bsc

It is a university in Tallinn, Estonia. This university is very popular and it is easy to find information on the web. some of my friends are studying there and their general review is very positive about the TalTech. The cyber security major seems pretty interesting and they have all the required labs, research equipment and nice professors. The selection procedure is kinda difficult, there are motivation letter stage, internal exam and interview about cyber security.

So I don't know which one to decide, Minerva seems attractive since it is in the USA(Silicon Valley) and TalTech seems attractive since it has a very good education.

What would you choose Minerva or TalTech? And your thoughts about these universities?

Thanks in advance

I am applying for Tallinn University of Technology. I have a question to locals.

Hello Estonian fellas ! Greetings from Georgia !

Well as the title says. I'm applying for TTU and I have a question to you.

Programme requirement includes "moodle test" and this is what it says :"The test contains five exercises based on logic, algorithmic thinking and generally recognized basic mathematics at a typical international high school level. Candidate will have 4 hours to complete the test."

So my question is what is considered as a "basic mathematics" in Estonia ? Well I am really looking forward to study in your country. I just need to know how hard is that test or what it includes (I mean the programme)

Thanks in advance.

How is the Integrated Engineering exams from Tallinn University of Technology?

Hi all.

I'm looking into the possibility to study in TTU's Integrated Engineering. There is an entry requirements on Entrance Exam but they don't really mention what will be covered in the exam. I know it's highschool maths, physics and chemistry, but I have been out of highschool for some time now and don't really know what Estonian highschool covers in those subjects. Anyone did the entrance exam before can give some tips?

Moving to Tallin and studying at Tallinn University of Technology

Yes, I've seen the sticky post but my questions are somewhat more specific, mostly about University specifc life and TTÜ.

I'm a Brazilian and I've applied to the Bachelor's course of Cybersecurity Engineering in english, and I don't have the slightest idea how hard it is to get accepted nor the admission process (what they consider most when ranking you, etc), how many people apply for it in general (English IT courses in Estonia, if there's no one here that attends THIS course), etc. I have High School diploma from Brazil with a GPA of around 3.5~4.0 and I'm currently beginning the second year of Computational Physics Bachelor in a University here (which I will drop to move to Tallinn if I get accepted) (GPA is not good as I'm not really liking this course), and have some slight work experience in IT, if this information helps, as I want to know my chances.

I'm a very introvert person in general, which I believe I'll blend right in with the typical Estonian, but how hard will it be to make friends? I don't keep a large circle of friends (and really don't like a large circle), I just don't wanna stay alone, what's the most effective way to make good friendships?

Does anyone here study at TTÜ? What's it like, in structure, professors, webservices, international office, etc?

Also for someone from any University, how does Cafeteria works? is it a normal regular restaurant, or a special one for students with lower prices? In Brazil we have a cafeteria-ish place where you pay equivalent to 2 euros and eat all you want of what's available (not greatest food though (I mean most of time it's awfully horrible)), I ask so I can get to know how much money i will need monthly for food (I'm not the cooking kind of guy, although SOMETIMES I do). Also, how is the studying itself, here in Brazil universities are almost like high school, in which you MUST attend all classes, there's class everyday almost 5 hours a day, grades are 80% from exams, etc... And how is student social life? Is it more "serious, study-foccused" or is it in Estonia like most places where the majority of students get crazy drunk in parties and everything's casual, or neither?

I've heard many times that it is an English friendly city, but how much is it really? Can I go to some random store in MustmΓ€e and speak english and the attendant will understand?

Opinions on Tallinn University of Technology

Tervist!

So this is a very "narrow" question but I was hoping that I might get lucky. The deal is that I am an Estonian citizen, but I've been living in the UK for quite a long time(my Estonian is quite a bit rusty, that's why I'm writing this in English to spare myself from embarrassment). The original plan was to go to a UK university to study Computer Science, however, with the ridiculous amount of debt I'll be left in compounded by the fact the UK might exit EU altogether as well as the crappy government with its self-serving ruling, I would like to look at other options too.

I checked Tallinn Uni of Technology and it had a couple of courses that I was interested in, such as Integrated Engineering as well as Computer Studies. So the question is this, what are your opinions on this university, dear eestlased? Is a degree from there sought for by employers? How fierce is the competition for places? Perhaps other thoughts and suggestions?

AitΓ€h!

Questions About Tallinn University of Technology Dormitories

Hello guys,

My friend will start studying in a master's program at Tallinn University of Technology in this Autumn season. He is looking for dormitories right now and he got a little confused by the terms they use for the rooms. For example in this link, they say "The waiting list for a one-room box is approximately one year and for a single room in a box the waiting list is approximately 4 to 6 months."

What do they mean by one-room box and a single room in a box?

Also in the application form for dormitories, in the first line, they want him to choose up to two houses. How would you decide which one to choose here? His concern here is that, his chances would go down if he chooses a popular one. Advices on this matter would be appreciated.

Thank you in advance for you help.

[EVENT] In a press release last Thursday, Tallinn University of Technology claimed to be working on a new technology that will allow for more efficient transmission of data, allegedly tripling network speeds.

However, the tech is highly experimental, and many of the systems involved are patented, used by the University only through a fee and written consent of the producing corporations. In addition, one vital piece of technology belongs to the Russian military, and cannot be commercially distributed until a deal is made with them. As such, TTU has not specified an intended release date, and said date could be postponed years or even indefinitely.
