A list of puns related to "Surgical Drain"
Knowing that some surgeries require drains, it is strange to me the first movie didnβt have the centipede with drains in any location after the operation. Considering the 1st sequence is the only one where the doctor took meticulous effort in making sure itβs all done well surgically right (unlike in 2nd where it was all over the place and 3rd wasnβt meant to be permanent)
If this was more scientifically accurate, where do you think drains would have been needed?
I don't know if this is the right place to post this, but my mom just got a mastectomy and she was sent home with the drains, they say we have to milk it every few hours but everytime I do it, air bubbles in the drain start going up and down and sometimes when I let go of the tube, it fills up with air and the blood shoots back up. I am terrified of accidentally shooting up a bubble of air into her body, is that possible?? Im following all the instructions properly
Anyone else had experience with a post-op surgical drain? Mine keeps leaking and Iβm like having panic attacks at this point. Iβm so overwhelmed and would LOVE advice for how to dress it with gauze so it stops leaking everywhere ):
36 Female Height 5β6β Weight 115, non-smoking, diagnosed with breast cancer August 2020, bilateral mastectomy October 19, 2020. Medications: Qvar, Albuterol
The itching around the drains has gotten intense the last couple days. I was advised to remove the dressing, let the area dry out, and apply new dressing. This has helped but I have bumps around one drain And some pink irritation around the other one.
Go figure the itching is whatβs making me the most miserable. Drains will be in until at least Thursday. Any other suggestions to make this more manageable for the the next few days?
Top surgery isnβt too far in the future for me atm, I just need to find the money and wait for coronavirus to die down but Iβve also been looking into it and Iβm somewhat afraid of surgical drains and was wondering if anyone could tell me what they feel like and stuff?
My doctor implanted two drains after removing my Stage IIIb in-transit melanoma a month ago. One of the drains came out last week, and the other was supposed to follow this week. However, because it's still producing about 150cc of serum per day (vs the target of 40cc or less), the surgeon told me we'll hold off another seven days.
Now, this is small beans. I recognize that. But it has been nearly a month since I've been able to take a shower and, daily sponge baths aside, I am so ready to douse myself with hot, soapy water that I can almost taste it. (Note to self: Do not actually do this when you are cleared to shower.) Plus the drain is just awkward and always in the way, and I can't lie on my right side with it there which has kinda thrown off my sleep routine.
But the biggest issue is that it's just one more straw on the camel's back. Pandemic, three separate insurance claims being worked (the cancer, displaced from apartment due to flooding, house I own needing porch replaced due to storm damage), my fiance's long-term battle with lingering COVID effects, revenue stress due to drop in freelance work due to all of above, uncertainty about how I'll respond to the upcoming immunotherapy (Nivolumab).... Still, I'm trying to remind myself that it's just one more week, and I don't really have it bad in the grand scheme of things. But I really fucking want to take a shower.
I recently, as a show of solidarity to a friend who is "consolidating" his accounts by recreating his favorite characters, from his secondary and tertiary accounts, onto his main account, made a couple of new characters to level with him. Now I need new characters like a hole in the head but I figured; "New Character, New Quirky Build" and went with it. For this one, I wanted a Science toon that didn't go the Grav Well, Torp Boat, Exotic Damage from AOE DOT effects. I wanted somebody who could bring the pain with DEW. I also wanted to flesh out my KDF side (and was rewarded with the subsequent Year of Klingon announcement) so I decided to go with that faction. The only problem is the KDF Science toons are at a distinct disadvantage when it comes to Science vessels so I had to decide between the two I have unlocked; the Lukari Ho'kuun or the Vulcan T'Pau. Anybody who is familar with my posts knows that I am not fond of the T'Pau, so the Ho'kuun it was.

Hi everyone, For those that have had surgical drains, have you experienced any pain from them? I currently am experiencing a lot of pain and it feels like my drain is getting pulled out. I think it mightβve gotten tugged while I was sleeping but it just hurts so bad and Iβm not sure whatβs wrong!
TL;DR: Grandma going through surgery to install surgical drain tommorow, How do you deal with this on an Alzheimerβs patient so she won't rip/remove/etc it?
I (25) have been a caretaker for grandmother (87) together with my dad (56) for the past few years. We both live with her and have a good nanny to take care of her at mornings when we both work, while sharing the load at the evenings/weekends to allow us both to escape for a bit. In short, my grandmother always has at least 1 person with her. She herself has quite a progressive Alzheimerβs, however, it is mainly affecting her short term memory (she can understand and talk just fine, only she can't remember anything that happened in the past few years more or less for more then 3 seconds). 3 years ago, she was diagnosed with cancer which is now requiring the installation of a permanent surgical drain in her stomach.
Has anyone has to deal with this or something similar? How do you stop accidents from happening considering she cannot remember it's there?
I had surgery today and at first my drain filled up the reservoirs in about 5 hours. However, now it has been another 5 hours, and one reservoir is less than half and othe other one has barely anything on it.
What has been other people's experience? Is it normal for the drop off in the amount draining?
Thank you!
Iβm a 56 year old female, residing in California. Was diagnosed with bilateral DCIS, which turned out to be micro-invasive. Lymph nodes were biopsied and are negative. My doctor removed all the surgical drains, but I continue to have significant drainage. Iβve soaked two shirts and a sheet with drainage. Is this normal? Iβm vigilant about keeping it clean due to fear of infection.
31yo Male
Height: 5'5 Weight 330lbs Meds, Amoxicillan, Amlodipine 5mg, Temazapam, topimirate, Wellbutrin Not diabetic nor pre diabetic.
So i had some surgery that removed about 10lbs of fat/skin from my legs to improve my mobility. I previously has issues with lymphedema due to being 550lbs but through diet have reduced it to 330. Before the surgery the Lymphedema largely subsided for the most part. My foot wasn't swelling nor was my leg to the degree it is now.
So my doc put drains in my legs, i've always suspected my left leg always took longer to heal for whatever reason. I'm putting out so much fluid from my left leg its ridiculous, at least 80ml every 3-4 hours. I had the surgery on the 14th of May and in comparison to the output of my right leg its night and day. I wanna know why in gods name has my lymph suddenly started flaring up really bad? And if im draining lymph fluid mostly or if its still fluid from the surgery or both? Idk what to do, I've been seeing my surgical doc weekly. I'm nowhere near as active as i used to be. I asked if walking around would help and he said it would help circulation certainly but i'd also be outputting more fluid. I don't wanna walk a bunch if it means it wont heal. The color of the fluid now is a clear amber color, used to be red now it looks like this. https://imgur.com/a/QIF4lkL. I need these drains out. I guess my question is What can i do to get this to heal faster? I try to compress my legs with ace wraps but they just keep sliding down after awhile and end up kinda making a groove in my leg. My right leg im not worried about its this damn left leg.
