A list of puns related to "Superheavy"
Currently all rocket launches head out from the east coast over the ocean, or from a few spots on the west coast into polar orbits. The reason being that if something goes wrong, it's not going to land on something (or someone).
Obviously we don't have this requirement for airplanes, I mean my office is right under the flight path for a major airport and we get jumbo jets maybe 1-2k feet above us all day long.
Is there any situation in which rockets would ever be permitted to launch out over land, or populated areas? For example, going in a low inclination orbit from Vandenburg or perhaps a space port in the deserts of Arizona or New Mexico?
Superheavy= 70t +
Please be honest in your opinion
Would SpaceX need to transport Starship and Super heavy by ship to the Florida launch site or would the vehicles have enough fuel on their own to move themselves there?
I know point to point was a plan for Starship at one point. But is it feasible with the current 9 raptor and booster 33 raptor layout?
How much fuel margin would they have if they launched from Boca Chica orbital/suborbital pads to LC39A?
In the latest episode of MainEngineCutoff podcast, u/AnthonyColangelo expressed a lot of pessimism about the future of Boca Chica launch site and claims:
> Iβm willing to place a bet at the moment that the first Super Heavy lifts off from Florida.
Well bring it on then, I'm willing to bet reddit gold against this, others can join the bet if they want.
I've been playing for quite a while on this run, and have yet to see a single superheavy contract. I vaguely remember that there was a Flashpoint that you had to complete before they start appearing? Can't remember if thats accurate or not, and if it is, what Flashpoint is it? I've checked out every one that pops up and none have seemed like they would be it. Am I missing something? And yes, both options related to superheavies are enabled in config.
Please somebody make a diagram of this

Merry Christmas Eve everyone! It's been a fun year of doing the Community Creation Challenge and I hope ya'll have enjoying reading and participating as much as I've enjoyed hosting!
Conventionally speaking, the heaviest mechs to grace the battlefield top out at 100 tons. The reasons for this are mostly practical, beyond 100 tons it becomes increasingly difficult to design and manufacture leg and foot actuators, internal structures, and gyros capable of dealing with the massive weight of the mech plus the added rigors of combat. In addition, their large size makes them large and easy to spot targets, with limited mobility to escape the enemy or keep themselves from getting flanked. Despite this, however, many powers have flirted with the idea of battlemechs that weigh more than 100 tons, or "superheavy" battlemechs.
One of the first known forays into the realm of the insanely huge was in 2775, by Amaris Arms Corporation. Following his coup, Stephan Amaris was feeling the proverbial noose being tightened by none other than Alexander Kerensky himself. Desperate for a "miracle weapon" to save themselves, Amaris personally oversaw the development of the Matar, a 110 ton monstrosity of an Assault mech intended to withstand an attack by an entire company of battlemechs. While the Matar was an abject failure and never saw production, largely due to Amaris executing the design team for "gross incompetence", it lived on in spirit and became the Clan Stone Rhino. While the Matar was not much larger than a regular Assault mech at 110 tons, other designs were indeed much heavier and did reach production, such as the 150 ton Omega from the Word of Blake, or the 135 ton Ares from the Republic of the Sphere. The largest battlemech ever known to exist is the formidable Orca, tipping the scale at a whopping 200 tons.
Only a handful of Superheavy Battlemech designs exist, and this week we're going to change that. Your challenge this week to create a superheavy battlemech design viable for the battlefields of the Inner Sphere. The exact weight and combat role are up to you, as is the era. Most Superheavy designs seem to originate later in history around the 3100's, but the original Matar tells us that the idea and technology
