A list of puns related to "Summative"
It happened in both middle and high school. Not all of my teachers, but some.
Fuck me
I am fully aware the situation is bad. The positive thing is that the university seems to want to help me. Before anyone asks - I have severe depression and anxiety and Iβm in the process of getting diagnosed with ADHD. If I manage to get medicated for ADHD, it could potentially really help me. My uni is aware of this. The worst thing is that I know I could be good at my course if I attended my lectures. Iβm in a seriously dark place right now but Iβm trying to get help and get myself out of it, I promise. Any honest opinions or advice on whether you think I can still progress to my second year would be amazing. Thanks very much
Patient 036: Kyole Venz Date: 7th December 2077 Codename: Hopper Diagnosis: PTSD Interview Log #001 Β βIt was the hardest thing Iβve ever had to do. But I did itβ The man stared intently at me. βWhat did you do?β He asked. I sighed. βItβs not as simple as a single word. There was so much more to it. So much more.β He leaned back in his chair. βI have timeβ He said. βGo ahead.β Β βDo you remember Jupiterβs Descent?β I didnβt need an answer. Who hadnβt heard of when Pluto fell drastically out of course and struck Jupiter, creating a meteor shower that could have meant extinction for humans if we hadnβt fled to mars 2 years previously? Especially since it was only 4 earth years ago. βOf courseβ βWell, I was one of the scientists assigned to the research mission. We were sent to recover meteorites with high traces of radiation. The planet marshal wanted to use it as a potential fuel source for Project: Starlight.β He stared at me with an inquisitive look on his face. βProject Starlight?β βIt was kept heavily under wraps, we were never told what it was.β I continued. βThe meteorite I was assigned to had the highest radiation counts out of all of them. I was told to remove all objects that werenβt a natural part of the meteorite. When I split it in half I found a trident with a red gem in the point where all the prongs connect. I carefully removed the trident from the meteorite and held it by my side as if I was Aquaman. Thatβs when it all went sideways.β Β All of reality seemed to fold in on itself. I saw a swirl of lights and colours, then a blur of memories. Some my own and others not. Some seemed extraterrestrial. Some seemed from the past. Some, the future. And then I regained consciousness even though it felt like I was conscious the entire time. I opened my eyes and realized I wasnβt in my office. I was in a burning wreckage that used to be my office. Ahead of me was chaos. People were running away from something. I didnβt know what that was, but I knew I didnβt want to find out. I stabbed the bottom of the trident into the floor again and everything went dark. Β I woke up in a bed not my own. I walked over to the window and looked outside. Everything was a little hazy, but it looked like I was on a very high-tech farm. βGood morning!β I turned towards the voice that spoke. A man in a purple jumpsuit was standing in the doorway to the room staring at me. βYou were out for a few days. I found you on the ground with this.β He tossed me the trident. βWhere
... keep reading on reddit β‘I failed this summative I worked hard on. I own up to it, this failure is no one's fault but my own. I could have worked harder and done better. And I'm gonna take the last few assignments in this course as my chance to do better.
But ooooohhhh boy. I can already imagine the crying screaming and yelling. The rants about how my poor soul will neveerrrr get into college. I dont know how to do this. I would rather they hear from me than from my report card, so I can diffuse any misconceptions right then and there. I will make it clear that this mark is not their fault as parents, my teacher's fault as a mentor, nor anyone elses' fault. I take responsibility for my failure, but idk if my parents will take responsibility for their reaction. what would you do?
And they are all from English. Rn my grade is a 69% tho so thatβs nice. Iβm good at it but I just donβt like doing work.
Just saying. Having a practice worksheet be worth the same as half a final is pure bullshit.
Is it safe to say that formal assessments are assessments that are graded and informal assessments are assessments that are ungraded?
Are all formative assessments are ungraded and all summative assessments are graded?
Can summative assessments be a special case of formative assessments as you are also checking for understanding as well?
Thanks!

So I am Canadian but live in a border city so many people can apply to work in both countries.
In Canada for our undergraduate degree we spend our whole final year of school working on what we call a capstone project (in addition to 5 classes a semester), and this project is in a team working with a real company to solve a problem using everything we learned. We need to complete this project to graduate.
Now obviously this is a great thing to put on a resume for employers to see, however I am not sure what to title the sub category. If I say Capstone Project will they understand, or what is it usually called in the US if you all do a project like this as well?
So my teacher assigned a summative for how pregnancy happens and she rejected my idea of me doing a video so what should I do. And It cant be electronic.
This student has done zero work for a month and a half, and did none of the formatives leading up to this summative.
I am not responding to this email until Iβm doing work stuff today. Fuck off kid.
Hi guys I just wanted to know how everyone on r/IBO prepares for a Spanish exam cause honestly I'm not sure how to lol
My next big English summative is a 5-10 page research paper on Egyptian mythology, and it count as 2 summative, wish me luck
Hi All,
In my ongoing attempt to evolve my teaching methodologies and show the weaving width and breadth of human history, I am interested in creating new projects that build from my students first experience with me (6th Grade Ancient World History) through their 7th Grade World History II class and into their 8th Grade US History course.
Last year I began using a site called Tiki-Toki to allow students to contribute to growing digital timelines showing key events of each unit we studied for the purpose of noticing the overlap of human history. Feel free to message me if you'd like me to share more details on that.
This year, I'd like to do something similar geographically. I've used Google MyMaps to enable students to create project-based maps showing key locations to a civilization's development. I'd like to take this a step further and use MyMaps or something like it to allow students to contribute to a map that will grow and evolve unit by unit. However, MyMaps has not developed in the same way the other Google Apps have and is not exactly user-friendly.
Does anyone have any suggestions for web-based geographic mapping resources that might be a bit more user friendly but still allow a student to continuously work on over time?
Hi,
I realized I have some holes and errors in the citations of some past summative assessments last academic year (they are quite obvious, like a lack of citations for some images so if the IBO looked over it, plagiarism would easily be found). These are already graded, and I was not caught for plagiarism for these by my teacher. Would summative assessments be analyzed by the IB later in the future?
The summative was a draft (but not the final draft) of my process portfolio in Visual Art.
My test is in metallic and ionic bonds, and I haven't studied, I didn't remember we had this today
Edit: oh yeah and we were allowed to make a cheat sheet but I didn't because I forgot about it
2nd edit: so it got graded already and it said 56 and I panicked because I thought it was 56/100 but its 56/64
I step away from Reddit for a while (that feels like a week in corona time) to find the page is named "Kiddie Photos". As riveting as comparing resting thought faces is, I feel like we got off on a tangent. Was there a different conversation happening prior to the photo-fest so that we can turn this into a secant line? Personally, I got lost in a sea of throwback pics. Thank you INTJ community!
