A list of puns related to "Strait Of Hormuz"
In concert with the attacks on the tankers in UAE in the last months, it appears that these two events are not merely coincidence. The Emirati investigation on the first attack concluded with a "no blame" on any one state, but of course the U.S. and Iran blame each other
Will escalated tensions ultimately lead to a "hot" war? Is this our generations "Gulf of Tonkin?"
Would also love to hear thoughts on the puts / takes of the Iran hawk argument, as there are many critics of that policy
Iran: Business as usual in Strait of Hormuz after blacklisting
Recently as some may know the US has decided to remove exemptions for sanctions on Iranian Oil by May 3rd. Iran in response has threatened to close the Strait of Hormuz as a form of retaliation since, if it has no trading partners left, its economy will collapse and it will see fit that if Iran cannot trade, no one can.
The Strait of Hormuz is a key area that sees barrels of oil being transported to the world daily. It is essential to every gulf and Arab nations economy.
Personally, Iβve heard Iran get a bit aggressive in itβs responses before but no actual action was ever taken. However, Iβve been listening to more people and reading articles that suggest that America is attempting to collapse the nation, and that this would be the last straw.
Were this to happen, I personally think itβs completely within the realms of possibilities that Iran follows through leading a stand off with the US Navy, possibly a hot war.
Iβd like to get a discussion going with this subreddit on whether an agreement will be reached before hand between America and Iran as to prevent these events from occurring, if Iran will follow through, how a standoff will look like, and what will happen during a hot war including key players.
