I've been replaying the 2012 title, and also just bought SSX 3 again, and I'm having a fucking blast. These games were made with so much joy, and the gameplay is a downright dopamine machine!

Been playing some SSX 3 and SSX On Tour lately, and it has me wondering, what's in your dream SSX game? Here's just a few of mine,

Wants:

• The ripping/shredding feel of SSX On Tour
• Great looking graphics and updated graphics
• Solid online play
• In-depth character customization
• The feel that SSX is an "event." I always loved it when it felt like I was a competitor and people came to the mountain to watch
• Courses that are both realistic but also really wacky

Don't wants:

• To be made by EA/have gimmicky pay-wall stuff or other modern gaming trends
• Courses that feel bad. I felt like SSX 2012 had the most of these
• Exclusively event-based gameplay. I'd rather play somewhat of a story or narrative
• Overly-complicated attribute mechanics
• An online-reliant game

I could go on, and I would love to. Feel free to go beyond wants/don't wants!

Spent some time on my PS2 testing a new wireless controller today and played SSX Tricky & Downhill Domination (massively underrated). SSX on the PS3 was ok and Rider's Republic on PS5 definitely scratches the Downhill Domination itch, but doesn't come close for the SSX itch. Sure wish EA would reboot the series and stay away from open world. 4K, 60 FPS SSX would awesome and I think EA would make a killing since extreme sports is no longer a saturated genre like it was back in the PS2 days.

While they're at it, remake or remaster Burnout 3 too.

Note: Much freezes is FiXed! There will still be freezes 90% of the time when picking up a perk, as well as freeze on beginning of Aloha level. I have been wondering, is there anyone in the world that plays SSX 3 for the Gameboy Advance as much as I do?

I recently decided to "fuck it" and buy the game on the PS sale and was able to get to a point where I was doing snowboarding challenges. I am enjoying it so much, although the tricks are not as 'wacky' or 'out there as they are in the SSX series, it still warms my little youth spirit inside me.

I doubt EA will ever make another SSX game, but there is still a little bit of hope. However, for now, RR can fill that void up!

Been scratching my brain on this a few days now. Granted, I'm not the most savvy on these kinds of things. The game is running, the opening intro and credits are fine, even the popup music display shows up at the menu, but nothing else. I'm scrolling through menu options in the dark. Any ideas to help solve the issue?

Running on an M1 Macbook air, already deleted the shader cache and toggled through graphical options. Only thing that's gotten it to appear is changing the backend to Software Renderer but that's dropping my frame rate to about 9fps.

I put hundreds of hours into Tricky and SSX3 as a kid. Both are easily 10/10 games for me. I never played On Tour though.

I’m getting a GameCube setup going again so I can dive back into my favorites. Is On Tour worth getting if I liked the previous two games a lot? It always has a reputation as a big step down from the other games, but is that just relative to how amazing those other games are?

When I run the SSX3 or SSX Triky game on PCSX2, there is a lighting problem that makes the snow very dark, even gray.

they talk about switching to "OpenGL> Accurate Date> Blending Unit Accuracy> Full (very Slow)" but it greatly slows down the speed of the game.

Do you have other solutions for the PCSX2 emulator (the GameCube version lacks too many controls.)
