A list of puns related to "Six Degrees Of Separation"
I don't know what heals a heart. I don't have a magic elixir that makes it all easier. But I have learned the below.
Six degrees of separation is the idea that every single person on earth is just six or fewer social connections away from anyone else. It's a radical hypothesis, and it paints a picture of a world that is surprisingly interconnected. One in which people, no matter how far apart geographically or culturally, are really not as different as they first seem.
Sarah Dietrich, a self described generalist, thinks this same rule of association applies to knowledge. She believes that it takes less than six steps before the most disparate fields of knowledge begin to converge. In her TEDx Talk 3 Creative Powers of the Generalist she explains this concept from experiences drawn from her own career development. She says that after "job hopping" from one interest to the next, she was able to create a platform for some innovative solutions in her work. Working as a dolphin trainer helped her code for artificial intelligence, and being a psychology researcher helped her explore new methods to innovation in her career in network operations.
In her TEDx Talk, Sarah presents a new take on the world of ideas, one of interconnectedness and symbiosis. She makes a compelling case for knowledge workers with a diverse set of skillsets - one with a healthy composition of experts AND generalists.
"Experts are like Islands." While Islands are great ways to build new knowledge depots, when left to their own devices, experts will only build bigger islands. This is why we need generalists. The generalist is the like bridge that connects the islands. Generalists will build bridges between each of the islands they visit, and in doing so will create the means to novel combinations that bring innovative and creative takes on old problems.
What do you think about Sarah Dietrich's ideas? Do you think knowledge is as interconnected as six degrees of separation? What about her islands and bridges metaphors? Can you think of a better metaphor that describes how knowledge-building works? Let me know in the comments below.
Like how people say through who he's worked with you can Six-Degrees-Of-Separation Kevin Bacon to most if not all of the movie industry, is there any 21st century artist you could do that with with the music industry?
My "vote" is that you could do Six Degrees Of Khalid just because of how diverse his collaborators are (from Marshmello to Kane Brown to Post Malone to Ed Sheeran and beyond) so therefore who they themselves have collaborated with is a lot of freaking people
So I don't really know him anymore than you guys do, but I was still shocked when I saw the cast release photos because a recognized a face, Clayton, who will soon to be on Michelle's season!
I went to high school with this volleyball player who ended up attending Mizzou, Clayton's alma mater. He and her dated for a long enough time for me to recognize his face from social media posts. All I can say is that he seems to have a type for very tall, athletic, and GORGEOUS women like our newest Bachelorette!
Okay, that is all. Nothing too exciting to report, but I had to tell someone who cares!!!!
I just started to play CK3 recently and I wonder if there is a mod that would make acquaintances more realistic. I mean, how do nobles of Europe know each other? I think of a system where you don't just search for a character in a sorted list but first you have to make acquaintances.
E.g. you have to visit feasts in other courts to get to know potential spouses (like in the Mount and Blade series), or fight alongside and invite certain people to get to know them and improve their opinions outside of your court.
I can also imagine a system where news spreads: if you interact with people e.g. your liege who interacts with people and random guests arrive to your court they can bring the news from afar - tell you about people who are of certain fame or what they did etc.
I could imagine only these people you ever heard of to appear in your lists for available spouses. You could even send out certain courtiers on missions to recruit eligible candidates etc.
Of course there would be a history of it, so there should be a simulation of past events that lead to the current network of people you know when you launch the game.
Would this make the game more challenging and enjoyable? The part of the map where you don't know anyone could even be hidden.
This idea came up for me when my random Hungarian count had a love affair from a noble's wife from England and even a bastard - tho there had been no chance for them to ever meet or even hear from each other...
"The theory of six degrees of separation contends that, because we are all linked by chains of acquaintance, you are just six introductions away from any other person on the planet"
This space is so easily excitable. You made a good investment and want to tell someone about it. Seems harmless, right?
Sometimes its it's not who you told but who they could tell. People like to talk and word travels fast.
"They use Coinbase and I've seen them check their portfolio on their phone before. Bet i could steal it if i hit them with this wrench."
Don't be your own downfall and be sure to be very choosy toward who you share such sensitive information with.
Stay safe frens.
For those who don't know, six degrees of separation is "the idea that all people on average are six, or fewer, social connections away from each other".
The concept has always intrigued me and I thought it could be interesting for all of us to see how connected we are to BTS!
Here's mine : I have a friend in Korea who works as a freelance translator and once translated one of BTS' summer packages. She is friends with one of the BH employees who regularly works with BTS!
Since all of us here are from such diverse backgrounds, I'm really curious about all your answers π

Blotches of green and black. Look at the third grade. Camouflage. But the second gradeβyour grade. Matisses everywhere. Youβve made my child a Matisse. Let me study with you. Let me into second grade! What is your secret? And this is what she said: βSecret? I donβt have any secret. I just know when to take their drawings away from them.β'

A little while ago I proposed an idea to do a six degrees of separation chart for Joel/the RoomieOfficial channel as a whole, and a bunch of people thought it was a good idea, so I'm going to do it!
In case you don't know what six degrees of separation is, here is an example:
Joel has made a lot of videos and is friends with Dave from Boyinaband, who was in a video for NSP (I believe The Mystic Crystal?), and also in that video was Markiplier. Markiplier is friends with Crankgameplays, and so it goes on.
Now, on this chart, I am only going to include youtubers- and yes I know he has met Shawn Mendes- but I'm sorry, this chart is going to be chaotic enough, trust me, with just the youtubers. If literally everyone who comments on this video is telling me to include singers and musicians, I guess I will, but only if there is an overwhelming amount of people who want to see that.
Please comment which youtuber(s) you want to see on this chart, and how they're related to the RoomieOfficial channel/Joel personally. Please try to only say a channel/person once, because if you see three people who've already said, for example, Pewdiepie, maybe don't say him. Of course I'm not going to complain if there are duplicates, it just makes it easier to go through.
I will, after each one of these posts, add those suggested in the comments, to a chart and put a picture of said chart up the next round.
A few obvious ones:
If you have any questions, comment them and I or somebody else will probably answer them. However I am about to go to bed seeing as it is almost 10pm for me so I probably won't answer any questions for at least 8 hours, but maybe someone else will.
Thank you all for participating!
Iβll start with the famous βLittle Jamesβ Kerr.
This young man is related through blood or marriage to some amazing people.
His mom is Patsy Kensit, his dad is Jim Kerr of Simple Minds.
Jim was married to Chrissy Hynde of the Pretenders (his step mom/ half sister Yasmin);
Chrissy had also a child with Ray Davies of the Kinks. (Yasminβs half sister, Natalie)
His step dad was Liam and Lennon is his half brother. Noel and his family are quasi cousins.
Liam had Molly with Lisa Moorish (herself a singer); so Lennonβs half sister.
Lisa also had a child with Pete Doherty of the Libertines (Aristide), so Mollyβs half brother.
Not to mention that his grandfather was a notorious mobster with the Kray brothers.
Imagine what the βtell about your familyβ essays must have been like for this boy when at school.
Anyone else got a 6 degrees of separation from Oasis personality? Letβs go.
Actor Jason Ritter shows up (briefly) as a Parenthood-related cameo in AYITL as one of the park rangers that argues with Lorelai. (Lauren Graham's real-life partner and ex-Parenthood costar Peter Krause plays the other one). However, during the course of his stint on Parenthood (he was in 32 of 103 episodes) Jason also appeared in projects with a number of other Gilmore actors.
Jason showed up in S1 of Parenthood as Mark Cyr, a much younger love interest of Lauren's character Sarah who is her daughter Amber's teacher. Sarah breaks up with him because Amber also has a crush on him and is already pretty much hell on wheels. However, the real reason Jason was written out of the show was....
....to join this absolutely horrible sci-fi show The Event, where he starred as Scott Patterson's prospective son-in-law. Awkward. I have no idea what this show was about but it had tons of notable names. They kept killing Scott's character off and bringing him back (he was a terrorist and an evil alien or maybe not really a terrorist, it was confusing) and it bummed me out so I stopped watching. It was cancelled after one season, at which point....
....Jason went back to Parenthood. I believe his character tried to romance Lauren again but it fell apart because....
....he left the show a second time to star in Us and Them, a sitcom focused on him and Alexis Bledel as a couple. Even more awkward. This show was apparently so terrible that they shot six episodes and Fox refused to air any of them even as a burn-off because it was so bad. I think the show eventually resurfaced on Crackle. So at this point Jason....
....returned to Parenthood a third time and tried to romance Sarah again. By this time, Sarah was entangled with Ray Romano's character Hank Rizzoli, a much more age-appropriate and compatible choice for her. So there was a love triangle for a bit, but #TeamHank triumphed, with Sarah's ending being an almost exact parallel to Lorelai's in AYITL: a middle-aged marriage to a tactiturn, socially awkward guy who absolutely adored her right as her father dies and she becomes a grandmother.
So what does this all prove, except that Mark was probably way too young for Sarah if the actor is playing her love interest and also the love interest of the daughter of her Gilmore love interest's character on another show and the love interest of her Gilmore daughter on a third? IDK. I just thought it was strange that Jason ended up linked to so many Gilmore alumni in this wa

I'm from Heidelberg, Speer's last home.
My deceased English and history teacher was a taxi driver while studying at the Heidelberg university. He also was a driver for Albert Speer.
So they probably shook hands/touched each other at some point.
My teachers left arm got crippled and if some of the boys in class messed up, he gave us a hurtful "hard massage" in the neck, with his crippled hand/arm.
Well, my point is that I'm only separated by two people from Adolf Hitler (Hitler-Sperr-My teacher-me).
It's kinda weird feeling and supports the "six degrees of separation idea/handshakes rule".
Can you guys make a connection like that with any WWII figures?
Iβm sure youβre familiar with the idea of six degrees of separation. Whatβs the most direct link you can conjure up to the guys? Iβm guessing it will be through shared interests, but it would be fun to see other possibilities.
Iβll start!
My absolute favorite manga is World Trigger by Daisuke Ashihara . It had been on haitus for ages so the anime adaptation was put on hold forever.
(This is how it works, right? Idk lol) When the adaptation finally started broadcasting last month, the OST was by none other than TXT.
It may come as a surprise to you, but txt works at the same label as BTS!
Reaching? Probably. Did I make this post to speak into existence the idea that Jin said, βwhatβs this job the kids got? Sounds interesting.β (-starts reading manga-) βOh, my! What brilliance! This is my absolute favorite manga now!β? Yes. Yes I did.
Whatβs your story?

To level up the game, try to avoid politicians in the connections as much as possible.
Dear Americans: given the situation it is, you can choose either one as your destination.
For me there would be 2. I've shaken hands with the dean of my college at the graduation ceremony, who's visited by Xi Jinping at a ceremony where distinguished scientific accomplishments are honoured by the state.
I remember as I was growing up that you could connect yourself to anyone in the world using people you know and the people they know and so on with only 6 people. I assume that would change the larger the population is, but in what way would that go? Higher or lower? (5 or 7)?
What are your weird connections to our challengers? A friends ex boyfriend is Zach? Your aunt lives in the same neighborhood Marie grew up in?
Mine are below
So I was watching an episode of Jeopardy! last night, and a contestant mentioned how he enjoys playing Six Degrees of Separation with baseball teammates. Basically, you take two seemingly-disconnected players (usually from different eras) and connect them as quickly as possible via a series of shared teammates.
An example: Wayne Weidemann is four degrees away from Sam Weideman
Wayne Weidemann played with Andrew McLeod who played with Scott Thompson who played with Bernie Vince who played with Sam Weideman.
Since it's off-season and we're bored shitless, I thought it'd be fun to start a game in this subreddit. Comment two random players from completely different eras (eg: Leigh Tudor and Connor Rozee) and we'll see how quickly we can connect them.
Bonus points for obscure names.
Six Degrees Of Survivor Website
Some of you may have heard of the concept of "Six Degrees of Separation" - every person is six degrees of separation from any other person. So, "a friend of a friend of a friend of a friend of my friend knows you".
Well, the same can be applied to Survivor seasons. Every player (except those in Season 39) is linked to every other through the seasons they have played in. For example, "Richard Hatch played with Kelly Wiglesworth in Borneo, who played with Kelley Wentworth in Cambodia, who played with Chris Underwood in Edge of Extinction".
Now, you can find this link through a website I made. Try it out!
On my phone getting to a different champion can be a pain in auntm.ai, the phone constantly goes into reader view and usually it's just easier to go to the home screen and get back into the barracks and the champ I want that way. So here's a lil game i play to make the process less tedious.
Down the bottom in the synergy section you can click on the champion icons to take you directly to them, so now we play the game to get to who we want in as few steps as possible.
Moon Knight to Apocalypse? click taskmaster > magneto X > apoc. 3 jumps. Can i do better? (many ways to get there in 3, i dont think you can get there in 2)
It's a good way to test your synergy knowledge and sometimes when i'm on a break from work and can get only get a few fights in, I'll spend the entire time just playing this game instead of actually fighting.
Tell me your stories!
