This was a welcome opportunity to meet with the Foreign Secretary so she could hear first-hand about the damage the Protocol arrangements are doing to Northern Ireland, in both economic and political terms. We understand she already has a clear understanding of the problems created over the last year.

Northern Ireland is currently required to implement EU law on a wide range of economic, finance and manufacturing policy without any input whatsoever from Northern Ireland or UK legislators and is subject to the jurisdiction of the EU Courts. Northern Ireland cannot continue to be held prisoner in such arrangements.

The Protocol was imposed on Northern Ireland without the support of its people. The DUP opposed it in Parliament and has consistently forecast the consequences of its enactment. A year on from its activation we have won the argument that the Protocol is unworkable and damaging to Northern Ireland – even those who previously argued for its rigorous implementation accept begrudgingly that it is not working.

Elected representatives who support the Union have set out their assessment that the NI Protocol is bad for Northern Ireland and if left unaltered will lead to the economic and constitutional divergence of Northern Ireland from the rest of the United Kingdom. This we cannot and will not accept. The current temporary grace periods are saving Northern Ireland from an even more immediate harmful situation.

We have indicated to Ms Truss that Northern Ireland’s place within the United Kingdom internal market must be restored so that there are no checks for goods travelling from Great Britain and staying within Northern Ireland. That must be guaranteed by the UK Government.

Following the meeting we have asked the Government to set out a plan of how they intend to deliver imminently on their Command Paper.

Worin seht ihr eure Erfüllung, was wollt ihr erreichen oder erleben und was muss passieren damit ihr sagen könnt, ihr habt gelebt?

I was spending some time just looking at the ever-relatable topic of looking at watches currently out of budget and I stumbled upon the above mentioned watch brands(Stowa, Sinn and Muhle Glaschutte). I know nothing about German watch companies and they're history(As a relative newcomer to watches I only really know about Swiss and Japanese brands.)

I like the "clean-looking" designs, particularly on a lot of they're "Flieger" watches. I was curious to know if anyone owns a watch made by then, thoughts on build quality, value-for-money and any other experiences.

Hat hier irgendwer Erfolg gehabt nach Köln zu ziehen um so mehr Freunde und Lebensfreude zu haben? Ich studier in Aachen Physik und ich glaub nicht dass ich es überleben werde hier ein Jahr lang die Masterarbeit zu machen. Es ist einfach zu einsam. Selbst in der Masterarbeit wird wahrscheinlich der Betreuer so alle 3 Wochen mal vorbeischauen, also wird es definitiv die einsamste Erfahrung meines Lebens. Ausserhalb der Uni hab ich schon viel versucht (uni-sport, meetup, jodel, studentische initiativen etc) aber ich hab einfach nirgends Erfolg damit gute Bekanntschaften aufzubauen. Ich glaube aber vieles liegt an der deutschen Kultur deshalb weiss ich nicht ob es in Köln viel leichter wird, aber da sind definitiv viel mehr Leute und Dinge zu tun, und es würde auch helfen von den vielen MINT Bros hier weg zu kommen. Ich weiss nicht mal wie ich nach der Uni leben soll. Ich komme aus Luxemburg, und da sind einfach kaum Leute. Die Hauptstadt hat nur so 114000 Leute. Und es ist teuer wie sau. Aber das Gehalt da dürfte es ausgleichen. Punkt ist, dass es da fast nichts zu tun gibt in der Freizeit, ich bin auf ewig zur Einsamkeit verdammt. Und auf Dauer werde ich das nicht überleben.

Oft ist der Ratschlag einfach Hobbies haben an denen man auch alleine Freude hat, aber sowas hab ich noch nicht wirklich gefunden. Wenn andere Leute da sind die mich mögen macht eigentlich alles Spass, aber ganz alleine weiss ich einfach nichts. Da man Freunde ja nicht erzwingen kann muss man aber zu jeder Zeit dazu bereit sein allein zu sein.

Sachen die ich gesucht hab, die es in Aachen entweder nicht gibt, oder wegen Corona nicht gibt, sind Sachen wie Theaterkurse und Musikkurse (Singen oder Instrument) für Anfänger. Das würde ich mal gerne machen. Auch Gaming oder Anime Gruppen scheint es nicht zu geben. (Bin aber auch kein riesen mega Fan davon jetzt, aber wär nur ne Idee). Auch mal auf Reisen gehen wär so toll, aber alleine mach ich das nicht. Reisegruppen sind auch wahrscheinlich eher stressig and stressen einen mit nem engen Terminplan sehr von langweiliger Sehenswürdigkeit zu langweiliger Sehenswürdigkeit geht. Ich will nur mal zum Strand oder so.

Ich weiss nicht obs in Köln irgendwie besser wird, aber ich glaub ich bin einfach eher ein Grossstadt Mensch.

Moin Ich finde es schwierig eine Aussage zu VPN Anbietern zu treffen. Zum einen lässt sich eine gewisse Sicherheit nicht abstreiten, zum anderen lässt sich eine gewisse Unsicherheit auch nicht leugnen. Gewisse große Anbieter machen ja im großen Stil Werbung über YouTuber - einige sind dazu übergegangen, eine Kooperation erst einzugehen, wenn sie Einblick in den Quellcode bekommen, was bislang jeder VPN Anbieter abgelehnt hat.

Mich würde eure Meinung dazu interessieren, besonders im Hinblick auf euer Sicherheitsgefühl (zB Anonymität) und evtl Anbietern die eher als Datensammler fungieren.
