Any recommendations for places that make a good Singapore Sling? Really any place that evokes a Singaporean vibe, whether itβs the food or the atmosphere. I donβt care so much for Singapore Slings, I just figured it might be the easiest to find. My fiancΓ© and I want to take our parents on a culinary tour of places that have meant a lot to us when they come visit us for our wedding and weβre just stuck on Singapore!
As far as I can tell, this is the most disputed of all tiki drinks. There seem to be two basic templates, one without pineapple juice, and one with. I basically do the Smuggler's Cove version, but with 1/2 oz orange curacao instead of orange bitters:
2 oz seltzer
3/4 oz lemon juice
1/4 oz demerara syrup
1/2 oz cherry Heering
1/4 oz Benedictine
1.5 oz gin
.5 oz orange curacao
1 dash Angostura bitters
What do you guys do?
1.5 oz Tanqueray
0.25oz Cointreau
0.25oz Benedictine
2oz pineapple juice
0.5oz Luxardo cherry syrup
0.5oz lime juice
0.5oz grenadine
1 dash angostura bitters
Pour ingredients over ice, shake, and strain.

While I was researching the history of the Singapore Sling, I collected a few recipes. I post them here in order from oldest to newest. I've taken the liberty of rearranging ingredients, so the order is gin, cherry, Benedictine, citrus, other for all recipes, to make it easier to compare.
