A list of puns related to "Shepherd's Bush"
After the latest big anti-lockdown protest in London on 29th May, the front part of the march continued into the suburbs of West London, then turned around and ended on Shepherd's Bush Green, where a small group of protesters had the idea to stay there until all restrictions are lifted.
So they went back on Bank Holiday Monday with their tents and some basic camping gear, and invited others to join, to create a protest camp.
Over the past week I have been following the evolution of the camp with great interest, by watching videos and live streams. They now have over 50 tents, arranged in a circle, and in the centre of the circle are three gazebo tents linked together, in which they have built a kitchen and lounge area. The kitchen is equipped with storage units built from wooden pallets, and has worktops and a couple of gas hobs and huge cooking pots. They also have outdoor cooking on metal bins.
They have a portable toilet in a little tent, and yesterday they acquired some sofas. There are lots of colourful placards around the site, and lots of musical instruments being played - it's looking like a proper hippy camp now.
People have been visiting with gifts of food, and the other day an Italian chef visited and cooked for everyone. Some local residents have offered to let campers use their showers and charge phones etc.
On the first day, they had a lot of harassment from the police, but they seem to have formed a reasonably good relationship with the police now, and are being allowed to stay as long they behave themselves.
Here's an overview of the camp as of yesterday morning, with a walk around and then some aerial footage.
How the kitchen is looking now.
This has been a good daily livestream, usually streaming early to mid evening.
hey! i got a standing stalls ticket for shepherdβs bush but iβm having to go alone. iβm from cumbria/the lake district (NW england). i was just wondering if anyone is around ages 18/19 and is in a similar position to me and wants to be friends
Hi folks,
I've accepted a job offer working in tech and based in Shepherd's Bush and I'm due to move sometime after August (COVID-19 dependent).
I'm wondering if anyone here has advice about where to live: I'm looking for a flat share rather than a place to myself, though that is an option too. My budget is up to 950pcm.
After scouring Google and this subreddit, my current considerations are:
I'm willing to pay slightly more for a safer area. I'd like to be around people of a similar age if possible (late 20s). There's also the consideration of commute time and transfers: the reason Hammersmith and Fulham are in the list.
What are your own experiences with the demographics of each area, and what are your experiences of long commutes? Do you have any other nuggets to share?
If it helps: Outside of work I'm looking for gyms, night classes, and the odd show. Access to green space would be nice, but those tend to be in more family oriented areas.
Thanks for taking the time to read!
This may be a long shot.
In early 2018 I was walking down Goldhawk Road in Shepherd's Bush and suddenly a whole lot of Quads and Dirt bikes ripped down the street doing wheelies and all of that. At the time I thought it was just them mucking around but now I feel like it could've been for a music video. Does anyone have any recollection of a music video similar to this?
Appreciate any help or advice, been racking my brain for years.
At the moment you have to buy a cup at the checkout, and a staff member fills the cup for you.
Thereβs only one right answer btw
Hi! I used to live in west london (acton) and moved to battersea a couple of years back, found a great place to buy off Hemlock Rd in Shepherd's bush/whitecity area and was wondering, is it safe around there, ie, to walk home at night etc? I read the schools are good around there so yay!
