A list of puns related to "Scandinavian Folklore"
My family comes from Sweden, and since I write horror comics, I wanted to write about the folklore from there! I looked this up, but every result showed the same creatures, and while some of them were really awesome, only a few were really freaky! I thought that asking the people from where this folklore comes from would know best, but if not, I am so sorry
Edit, I forgot to post creatures that I've already seen! Here's the ones I can remember. Draugr, Myling, Pesta, Dokkalfar, Wargs, Mare, Nรญรฐhรถggr, and a lot of different types of elves, goblins, and other small creatures similar to this
I've tried looking up some of the creatures you guys have listed, and sadly Google is saying that nothing is coming up and that I need to change languages, but that would be risky since I wouldn't understand anything... so if possible please put a description next to the name of the creatures:) sorry if that sounds rude but my devices for some reason will only show English results

Thank you so much for all of your replies! Right now I need time to talk to the people who have responded and see who could be a fit. Thank ye!
Greetings fellow roleplayers!
I'm working on a homebrew DnD 5e game. I'm going to base it on Scandinavian folklore, since I have a fair amount of knowledge of it (I'm from the cold realms myself).
So far my idea is that the game will be about a group of mercenaries (you!), who travels the land and do quests, which may or may not lead to a grand finale, based on how long the group wants the campaign to be.
I'm looking for 3 to 4 players.
The game will be 60/40 to 70/30 RP/combat. It depends on you, the players.
The game will be on Roll20 for maps and sheets, with Discord for voice and banter.
I'm looking for a group that wants to actually get to know eachother and not just meet up to play the game. I mean, what's better than a DnD game? A DnD game you play with your friends!
I'm going to allow most races from any official books, with a few exceptions. I would prefer only PHB classes but other classes might be allowed if you can convince me. Subclasses can be from any official book. Tasha's rule for racial ability bonuses is allowed, if your background provides an explanation.
I plan for the game to be a mixture of fun and serious moments. Hopefully I manage to make it a bit horror-esque as well! I want to implement your background stories into the game, so I hope you will make a character you're passionate about playing. No murderhobos though.
What is required:
- A semi good to good mic (the only fuzz I want is on my bass)..
- A stable internet connection.- You have a basic knowledge of DnD 5e.
- No racism, homophobia etc. Be a good person. Pls.
Also. Please be interested in the campaign I'm creating. I put a lot of effort into my games and hope you'll want to give me feedback, since I've mainly been a player the past 5-6 years.

I would not say that this is very well researched or anything and could possibly be old news, but I thought it might be interesting to some people. lemme know if the link doesn't work.

I've been playing through this one, right now I'm about 6~7 hours in and so far it's one of the best adventure games I've played. Even better than I was hoping for. There's so much great atmosphere and so many lively and memorable characters. It's been a wonderful world to get lost in and the puzzle difficulty is very well balanced too.
If it closes out strong this game will be up there with some of my all-time favorites.
I can remember everything about this movie but canโt find the name! I saw it at an international film festival in 2018. I also know that the director made a different movie about a giant that plays lawn bowls if that helps.
Plot: Movie opens with a young couple on holiday for their daughters birthday, she has an allergic reaction to food and is taken to the hospital. The parents, singing happy birthday, go to wake her up with a cake but she is already dead. Skip forward a couple years; the couple goes on a camping trip. When they awake in the tent they are killed by: a fancy dressed man with a cane, a huge giant like man, and a disheveled girl who carries a vicious dog. ( I think these characters are from folk lore if can recognise them that would be a big help) The boyfriend wakes up and itโs like Groundhog Day except instead of learning how to stop them he gets more and more scared and keeps getting murdered. I canโt really remember the end but thatโs pretty much the whole movie.
Hope this is enough to go off of Iโve canโt stop thinking about this film. :)

The release of The Ghosts of Saltmarsh brought to the forefront many of the aquatic creatures that are not used in todayโs D&D. We were disappointed when we found out the Tarrasque of the ocean, the Kraken, was not in The Ghosts of Saltmarsh. Sure, there is a juvenile kraken, but that doesnโt come anywhere close to the destructive power of the mighty CR 23 monster.
Where did this mighty creature come from? Well, it has its roots in Scandinavian folklore, as it was a mighty sea creature that attacked ships off the shores of Norway. As far back as the 13th century, references to a giant sea creature lurking in the depths of the ocean that could drag down the largest ship have been found in Norwegian literature. While there is no such thing as an actual kraken, we hope, many think the idea behind the lore came from sailor sightings of giant squids, which can grow up to 50 feet in length! Descriptions of the Kraken have evolved throughout history with original descriptions having the creature be more crab-like in nature to squid-shaped to an intelligent octopus-like creature. No matter what one thinks about the Krakenโs shape, its massive size and destructive power were, and still are, enough to strike fear into even the most hardy of seafarers.
So letโs take the plunge into the Krakenโs hungry maw and see how the cre
