A list of puns related to "Sawmills"
So here's a new one in the latest of events! Hubs and I found our dream farmland, offer is accepted and we are waiting for the appraisal. Land has no structures so we are planning to either build or get a log cabin kit dropped there.
BG on BIL: he is the type to try to make any situation into something that will benefit him. He gets bored with projects or animals after a few weeks and then sells or leaves whatever it is to go to shit. We had him help us with baling hay this year (he got $1/bale to just drive in circles raking the hay and we would do EVERYTHING ELSE), and halfway through unloading he gets weird and says he "won't keep doing this for $1/bale", for roughly 2 hours worth of work, he made about $300. When we never even asked him to be loading or unloading, he just loves to change deals when he thinks he has leverage. He also shot a live round at my prettiest rooster and just laughed about it. Many other things as well.
But anyway, now he is trying to get us to buy him a sawmill, saying he will do the boards and help us build a house.
Now any of these things will happen if we were to do that: he decides when he thinks he has paid off the $8k, probably when we have a fraction of the wood needed, and then he will want payment for anything else. He gets bored and keeps putting it off until eventually we give up asking and he has a free sawmill. He cuts the wood, but then decides he needs some of it for his own use or to sell and it starts to go missing.
There is no scenario in which we buy him a sawmill and end up with a house. None. And I don't want the roof over our heads to be dependent upon whenever he gets around to it.
I'm sorry I know this sounds so silly. But I have thousands of dollars worth of JUST fencing, t posts, and equipment to buy. Thinking you're going to get a fucking sawmill with money we don't have is a level of entitlement I've never encountered.
My dad says to string him along until we are on our land and can give a solid no. Sadly my husband is a little more on the fence about it. Would love some gentle advice on this. I laughed when BIL brought it up to me and said "Well we definitely don't have $8k for that". And hoped it would shut it down.
Edit: Oh my goodness thank you all for the support and helpful advice! I feel much more confident in the decision to pass on this insane idea. No contracts will be drawn up, no entanglement once we have our property, and definitely no trusting or relying on someone I know i

I'm building some new raised beds this year... does anyone have recommendations for a local sawmill where I can get rot-resistant wood (cedar? or some other local species?). Tips on raised-bed construction also welcome.
A little light reading to digest a big Thanksgiving meal, but hopefully an interesting peek back into one of the not-so-long ago 'mall wars' in Northwest Columbus. Starting before the suburban boom when Sawmill Road and 161 was a mostly 2-lane crossroads, visionaries foresaw the suburban expansion and laid the groundwork for thousands of homes and hundreds of businesses to be built from 161 to the Delaware County line via annexation and zoning changes between Sawmill Road and the railroad to the east.
This article is a culmination of some idle-time research, specifically into the failed effort to bring an enclosed mall, the Sawmill Place Mall, to the northeast corner of Sawmill Road and SR-161, to the site where the present day Sun Center is located.
Most of the timeline and details come from The Columbus Dispatch Archives and online county records. Numbers, especially around square footage and acreage of various project change, but I tried to stay as true to current numbers in the sources when they were published. I de-emphasized the competing mall efforts to some degree, but wanted to include details where they were pertinent, especially as Tuttle Crossing won out. Details are always subject to correction, these are second-hand sources.
So, here is a brief history of, in timeline format, the northwest corner of 161 and Sawmill Road and the long, but failed pursuit to build Sawmill Place Mall.
-----
January 1971
F&R Lazarus & Co (Federated Department Stores) announces the recent purchase of approximately 400 acres at the northeast corner of 161 and Sawmill Rds, with, in addition to other developments, plans for a major regional shopping center to be developed on approximate 100 acres.
Key to the development is annexation into the City of Columbus, which is required to extend necessary water and sewer services. Some Perry Township residents immediately begin efforts to oppose the annexation to stop development, lawsuits begin to be filed.
December 1972
The first traffic signal, a flashing light, for the 161-Sawmill intersection is announced.
March 1973
Columbus annexes the land and ~2000 additional acres to the north, allowing for significant commercial and residential development in the area mostly bounded by Sawmill Rd and the C&O Railroad, from 161 to the Delaware county line.
December 1973
Columbus City Council approves zoning changes to the land to allow for development, Federated announces that a 210,000 sqft

Seems Goldsink suggestions are in vogue today with OSRS's recent announcement of a 2% GE Tax.
Bare in mind:
gold sink = money leaving the game ... not from Player A to Player B
item sink = items leaving the game (disassemble items, any artsian skills that consume resources to make other items, high/low alchemy)
SHOP UPDATE: Increased base stock and shops now sell their wares to players noted
The oldest in game gold sink are in game shops. Buy items from NPCs, GP is removed from game, player gets anything from a tinderbox/hammer/feathers to mid tier weapons/armor to magic stones for Construction.
Simple suggestion here is for all shops in game to have their stocks increased.
Some shops like the Falador and Al Kharid Gem Shops should also be updated to now actually sell gems, similarly with Grums Gold Exchange to actually have Jewelry in stock, could also have some shops have their 0 quantity stocks removed because a player won't actually sell Shantay at Shantay's Pass a Bronze Bar.
In addition, shops will now sell their items (at least ones that aren't already stackable or in packs) as noted wares. We do get that with some shops (When you buy Seaweed/Pineapples in Catherby, or some of the shops that sell Battlestaffs).
SAWMILL: Sawmill operators now convert your noted logs to noted planks
Let's face it ... between Protean Logs, Portable Sawmills and Workstations, and the Construction Outfit ... the archaic mechanic of running loads of logs to a Sawmill is dead.
So ... if a player wants to expedite turning 10k Mahog Logs into Mahog Planks, why not let them do it in 1 go.
Noted Regular Logs = 200 GP ea
Noted Oak Logs = 400 GP ea
Noted Teak Logs = 750 GP ea
Noted Mahog Logs = 2000 GP ea
MOTHERLOAD MAW: reroll .. for a price
Get something you don't need ... or don't want ... reroll the Maw once per day ... but it will cost you ... GP.
We already get the chance to reroll Treasure Trails. And the Maw shares some rewards with the Travelling Merchant.
So for something like 500k GP, given the variety of items on the Maw's reward list, the chance that the player comes out with something that would be an immediate improvement over the gamble is fairly limited. But it would give players a 2nd chance each day to potentially roll for the 'useful but untradeable items'.
Iβve actually managed to play mp team deathmatch on PS4, but since then I havenβt gotten Hovec Sawmill as a map, not even once or spawning in mid-game.
Anybody else experiencing this?
Itβs one of the only maps I would always play and a personal favorite
I know it's supposed to remove GP from the game, but is there an in-universe explanation as to why it needs coins to function?
Imagine buying a tool from a home improvement store and finding out it's coin-operated.
I'm a beginner handtool woodworker and have a few projects in pine under my belt. I'd like to take on some projects with hardwood, but I'd rather not buy from the big box stores. Anyone know of sawmills or other lumber suppliers in Eastern or Central PEI where you can buy hardwood lumber? I'm down in the Wood Islands area and would prefer not to go further West than Charlottetown.
Also, if anyone has any tools they're looking to sell, let me know!
I am at that stage in the game (first playthrough) where I have to do the sawmill horde for the mission.
My problem is I am TERRIBLE at the hordes I tend to die alot or waste resources. My resources are very limited for instance right now I only have 6 Napalm and 2 Regular molotovs no kerosine or growler to make new ones.
I tried several times but it all end the same with me dead. I am getting to that stage of wanting to dump the game because i cant progress. I search locations but end up needing to use my molotovs again sinve I did not clear most infestation sites.
If it helps my weapons are the Chicago Chopper, RPD and SMP9 lvl 4.
Any help would be highly appreciated.
Edited to add:
Holy shit I am shaking quite badly but I FINALLY done it I completed the sawmill horde!!! Thank you all soooo much you have no idea. I love this game but the horde missions that stop story progression made me gave up on this game before and I was at that point again. You all helped me with incredible information on how to pass this mission now excuse me while I go lay down and let my heart tick its usual high rate instead of the current heart rate hahaha
I've already progressed beyond the mission with Ricky and the camper who was turning in human ears as bounties. You chase him all through the sawmill but after completion the sawmill horde completion didn't register. I killed the horde as soon as touched ground down in the lake many missions before.
