Sacred animal mummy in the form typical of a wrapped ibis, decorated with a figure of Duamutef ca. 400 B.C.β100 A.D. Late PeriodβRoman Period. Duamutef was, in ancient Egyptian religion, one of the four sons of Horus and a protection god of the canopic jars. He protected the stomach of the dead.
