I have this problem since forever (apt also).
My rectus femoris muscles are VERY tense. If i stretch them they really hurt and it feels like no matter how much i stretch they always come back to being tense and contracted.
I bought a standing desk but while this apparently helped with my low back, the rectus femoris issue is still there.
I figure i must be doing something all the time with them that they revert to being tensed?
I have a script for Soma, I have a history of pinched nerves and muscle spasms but I hate taking Soma. Iβve lost weight over the past year and Iβm starting to go to the gym again to build up core strength and my back. I squatted 40 pounds yesterday (pathetic I know) and after the third squat I felt fire in my thighs. Now my legs are twitching and spasming and Iβm scared of a charley horse.
Is there anything that can give me the relief Soma does for the spasms but not the other side effects? I go to a neuromuscular massage therapist every other week and sadly this week is not my week and sheβs booked.

i try the classic stretches to, but those dont seem to really stretch the muscle at all.... plus the quad is the biggest muscle body and no ones talk about it....which is even more weird.
This appears to be a life long ailment, not something that will necessarily go away, which is why he load manages. He also recently made a comment that he just wants to be able to play with his kids after he's done with basketball, so the rest is preventative. Essentially he is powering through for the betterment of his team. Dude is a soldier working hard given his set of circumstances. Kind of tired of "why does he still load manage" talk.

I am currently at home and tomorrow I'll have my second 200m race. Also, I've recently experienced a quadriceps muscle trauma and when I was practising sprinting today, I felt a lot of pain from my right leg. Can I do anything at home today or tomorrow before the competition to relieve the pain at least for a bit, so I would be able to run the whole track without losing the ability to fully control my right leg because of the pain?
