I'm taking a Natural Hazards and Disasters course and one of the chapters is about volcanos. My textbook says that lahars are "Produced when large amounts of loose volcanic ash and other pyroclastic material become saturated with water and rapidly move downslope" and that pyroclastic surges are "Dense clouds of hot gas and rock debris produced by explosive interaction of water and magma".
Now I was wondering does this meam that lahars are a type of pyroclastic surge? I appreciate any answers that I receive and thank you in advance.
I'm making an in depth poster on pyroclastic flows and surges for a university project, but after looking through the internet and literature I cannot find out what determines the type of pyroclastic event. This is not limited to only flow and surge, but also the type of surge (base/ground/ash cloud.
Also, is it possible to predict/monitor if a pyroclastic surge/flow will take place, or just assume that it could happen on any eruption?
Any answers will be appreciated.

We're suddenly on the cusp of a larger meta change as Cygames are pushing through a larger balance change update with no class going untouched ! Which obviously means this report will be a little less useful, but i'd say that's a pretty good trade off for a nice meta shakeup. Anyways, let's have a look at what happened and what we could possibly expect!
Forestcraft
In the great woods of Forestcraft, where the fairies flitter about freely amidst the canopies. Selwyn's secret Project to teach Primordial Colossus some new tricks has finally paid off. It took a lot of work and swearing. But now it can do just a bit more than before. And of course he fully expects his contribution to be ignored by the other leaders.
Forestcraft Sees Fairy Forest at the top as usual, followed by Combo Forest and a tiny smattering of Aggro Forest.
Forestcraft continues to hold on barely to the meta for now. Though the upcoming balance changes and in particular the buff to Primordial Colossus should be a helping hand to the class, giving most of it's deck a boost and may see people give Accelerate Forest another go.
A Storm of Fairies
A midrange deck built around Fairies. Still the most popular of the Forest decks, it's overall performance though continues to be middling and it generally does not see much play currently at the higher tiers of the competitive meta. That said, with the upcoming nerfs and buffs, there's a chance the deck may see some benefits. As getting an airbound barrage never hurts, plus some of the major decks getting a bit slower should help too possibly.

I wanted a bonfire orb where you would hit it with fire damage, and it would create a burning ground based on this damage. I was hoping that's what flame surge would become, but instead, we got this tornado thing.
Here's some ideas that are going through my head for it.
Kinetic blast - KB is great for clear, but lacks single target. Could tornado be the answer? You probably want to use wandslinger so that spell damage applies to attacks too. That way, you build a nice wand, and then go all in on spell damage, projectile damage, and probably crit. It might not work with the AOE explosions though, so it's something to think about. Maybe barrage would be better?
Inquisitor spellslinger with blazing salvo and fireball - Make a beefy fire wand, and go ham with projectile damage, spell damage, and then use tornado for single target. Probably pick up the first crit node, battlemage, and then go for pious path.
Inquisitor fanaticism - slinger with flame wall and tornado for clear, and then do something that has a ton of projectiles like blazing salvo to feed the tornado when you need extra damage.
Cremation - Cremation does projectile damage. It's not great for clear, but will tornado be better? Probably not.
Poison tornado with venom gyre and whirling blades - Use venom gyre, throw down a tornado, whirling blades to shoot a bunch of projectiles all at once. Tornado should hit often. You get plaguebearer for clear also.
Icicle mines + pyroclast mines + tornado - mines are typically pretty strong, and they all used to scale with the same nodes. Can you use icicle mines to clear, and then throw down a tornado and load it with projectile damage from icicle mines or pyroclast mines?
Frost blades - Frost blades is great for clear, but single target drops off. Can you drop the tornado behind your target and then proc the projectiles off of the target to hit the tornado that will damage your target now?
Spark - Spark has weird clear and really changes depending on the terrain. Maybe it can fully load a tornado because you build into pierce anyway. You don't worry about bouncing the sparks off walls because tornado will take care of the damage.
Sire of shards - ball lightning? You can clear great with sire of shards, but then what about single target? Position yourself well around a tornado and you should be able to hit it a lot. This probably could work with other

Most importantly, the jokes that your CHILDREN tell YOU are not dad jokes. The point of a dad joke is that it's so cheesy only a dad who's trying to be funny would make such a joke. That's it. They are stupid plays on words, lame puns and so on. There has to be a clever pun or wordplay for it to be considered a dad joke.

For context I'm a Refuse Driver (Garbage man) & today I was on food waste. After I'd tipped I was checking the wagon for any defects when I spotted a lone pea balanced on the lifts.
I said "hey look, an escaPEA"

Came back to the game recently, just got the helminth segment to subsume frames.
Been theorizing on things to try out but since its going to take a while to subsume stuff i cant really try everything out as i would wish right now.
Im looking to see if any of you have come up with interesting or fun combos to try out that work, leaving aside the obvious "put roar on everything" idea.
So far some theories i have planned to try out (though i dont know how well they will work yet) are as follows. Please let me know if these wont work for some reason:

Banshee + Fire Blast. Idea being to armor strip with fire blast to then kill with resonating quake and alternate.

Equinox + Gloom. Allows to crowd control and heal while in day form using maim. Debatable usefulness, still need to plan a build with strength. Alternatively Equinox + Shooting gallery for the same idea minus healing, but increased weapon damage and occasional blinds while not needing much strength.

Gara + Pull. Yank people into your splinter storm instead of chasing them. Not much else to say.

Limbo + Thermal Sunder. Immortal Nuke spammer. Also firewalker with pyroclastic flow or smite as other options for damage from rift

Khora + Fire Blast. Armor strip for lazy pilfering strangledome.

Excalibur + Molt. Panic button escape option that also allows you to chase down enemies faster with EB, and optionally heals you.

Ash + Shooting Gallery. Passive CC for you and team, if im correct could also get blinds off while using his ult if you join in, and the weapon damage buff MIGHT buff your daggers. Also debating possible synergy with Aquablades given his increased slash proc duration that again might allow the ability to remain active while you teleport around?
Also curious if any of the attacking abilities will synergize with wisps breach surge to give her some actual aoe killing?

Greetings everyone and welcome to the last regular meta report of this expansion as the next one will be right before the expansion hits, meaning the current meta won't matter. So that one will be more of a speculative one looking forwards.
But for now, let's have a look at what happened over the last week as we slowly move towards the Dawn of Calamity.
Forestcraft
In the great woods of Forestcraft, where the elves form great societies amidst the mighty oaks. We find the leaders assembled, quite excited about the great surge of Fairies and their return to Forestcraft! Only Selwyn is a bit concerned, mostly that Amataz may return and ruin it all again.
For Forestcraft Accelerate Forest continues to hold the top of the class, followed by Combo Forest and Loxis Forest.
Forstcraft continues to do quite well at the higher tiers, though on average remains limited in popularity due to it's heavy combo nature and skill intensity. Perhaps the return of a more tempo based Fairy deck could give Forestcraft a greater boost of popularity once more (Unless that gets nerfed)

A combo deck built around Accelerate. Still quite popular at the higher tiers of competitive play and seeing steady numbers at the JCG Open and Rage Grand Finals. The future of the deck looks less clear as it stands to lose several key accelerate card and with no replacements in sight for now. Things look a bit hazy there.
A fuzzy pawed Defender of the woods, she strikes down all those who would harm her home
A combo deck built around Ladica. Still seeing some play, but lingering in the Shadow of Accelerate Forest that overall performs better. The deck may be able to climb out of it's shadow in the next expansion depending on the support it gets.
