Remember shoegazer rock? Did anybody else used to play this album over & over?
Shoegazing is a style of alternative rock music that emerged from the British isles in the late 1980's and early 1990's. Characterized by overwhelmingly loud, distorted guitars and echoing reverb, the signature shoegaze sound deemphasizes the vocals, often treating the human voice as just another instrument in a wash of sonic texture.
The βshoegazingβ label is often rejected by the bands in this genre and even considered derogatory, but since no other term evolved to embrace this musical style, we seem to be stuck with it.
The British music press coined the term shoegazing to describe the relatively static stage presence of these bands, who were typically more focused on creating a particular "wall of sound" than they were on creating a lively stage performance. Β The term may also reflect the extensive use of guitar effects pedals, which often required looking down at the floor.
Hey hey! It's finally time to upgrade my resort board, as I've been limping by on an entry level Arbor Ethos for the past three seasons. I have a Weston split that I can use at the resort some days, but I want a better dedicated resort board that can help me progress. I am a solid intermediate rider, not super aggressive but if there is good snow/pow I tend to rip a little harder. Looking for an all mtn board that will also shine in powder, be a fun ride and help me progress without being insanely aggressive.
I don't ride in the park and can't ride switch at this point, so really dig the directional, setback vibe. I've found plenty of reviews for the Psychocandy/warpig and I also get a pro deal with Ride so I am leaning toward that board, but if anyone on here has ridden the Ravine or if you'd like to share your experience with the Psychocandy, please do! Oh, also I'm in the PNW, so the blower pow days are few and far between but a girl can dream.
Thanks!

Please enjoy, discuss, dig deep, and let's all do our part to leave this world better than we found it!
Per tradition.
3 Boards, 1 indecisive/perfectionist rider (who just wishes they were doing Demo Days so I could get a test run).
Looking to upgrade my board as the one I'm currently riding is >10 years old (Atomic Polarity 145). It's been great and there's nothing wrong with it, but I know that snowboard tech has really advanced in the last 10 years and I want to take advantage of that to help improve! I also think that my skill has outgrown the length of my board and I would want to get something in the 148-152 range (I'm 5'6, 165-ish lbs). Riding in Ontario & Quebec, so we get a bit of everything, but more ice than powder.
I am an advanced rider on groomers- can take on basically any slope/difficulty at speed, with control, and love to carve. However, I'm just starting to do ollies/kickers/side hits, looking to get more into riding the glades/trees, and learn how to ride in the park, (so I would probably call myself more of an overall intermediate rider). I will be keeping my old board to learn and explore these areas but want to be able to use my new board to do these things once I'm confident in them.
Looking at online reviews I've narrowed down my choices to the Nitro Fate, Salomon RumbleFish, and Ride Psychocandy. If anyone rides these (or by some lucky twist, has ridden more than one of them and can compare!), please let me know how they are and if they would suit what I need!
Note: I know the Psychocandy is meant to be ridden shorter so I'd get the 146!
I was reading an old forum from a different site, and someone called Psychocandy a βheavyβ album and a lot of people got really offended. While some of the songs are pretty tame and dreamlike, like Just Like Honey, I also think some songs like Taste the Floor and The Living End are absolutely bonecrushing. Not that Iβd call them heavy metal or anything, but I donβt think the term heavy is exclusive to hard rock or metal
Looking for bands that have a good balance of shoegaze, post punk and noise rock/pop in their sound.

The Jesus And Mary Chain formed in 1983 in East Killbride, Scotland. However, the two founding members, brothers Jim and William Reid had been making home recordings under various names since 1977. The band name's origination is unclear, as it was originally rumoured that the name came from a Bing Crosby film, although this was proven to be untrue. Jim and William began recording and sending demos to labels beginning in 1983, and the next year they formed the bands original line-up by recruiting drummer Murray Dalglish and bassist Douglas Hart. During early gigs, the band would often pretend to be the supporting act, play their set, then leave in a hurry. After getting a lack of interest from local promoters and labels, they traveled to London where they were quickly signed by Creation Records. Dalglish left the band, and was replaced by Bobby Gillespie from Primal Scream.
In 1985, they released Psychocandy, which received rave reviews from critics and spawned the bands biggest hit, "Just Like Honey". The next year, they released their second record Darklands, once again securing overwhelmingly positive reviews from the music press. After 3 years of no new matieral except for a B-Side and Rarities compilation titled Barbed Wire Kisses, the Jesus And Mary Chain released the album Automatic, which was still well-recieved but was viewed as worse then it's predecessors. Douglas Hart left the band in 1991, and didn't play bass until 2006. The band released their next album, Honey's Dead in 1992, which got mixed reviews from critics. Two years later, the band released Stoned And Dethroned, which had a lukewarm reception. The Jesus And Mary Chain officially broke up in 1999, but reformed in 2007.

This album has always seemed like a sort-of Frankenstein's monster of a record that should not exist on God's Good Green Earth. When I first looked into the masterpiece that is Psychocandy, I thought that this album wa
