We always hear about players who were great but never got a ring, but how about players that were great but never even got the chance to compete for one in their entire careers? Just curious what big names you guys can think of that fit.
Also, to clarify, Iβm gonna limit it to players who have debuted since 1969. The World Series being the entire postseason before that makes it kind of unfair.
Edit: ok, after like the 7th time someone has mentioned Ernie Banks, I want to make it clear that he doesnβt count here. I said debuted since β69, and he debuted in β53. I figured I already made that clear but I guess I have to make it more clear.

> Can Thompson return to the elite defensive level we grew so accustomed to seeing before? Thereβs just no way of knowing just yet, as heβs on a minutes restriction and the Cavs donβt boast any of the all-time wing talents who are regulars in every postseason.
> The plan, a source with knowledge of the situation said, is for Thompson to slowly build up his playing time with the goal of taking all the reins off right before the postseason arrives. In the interim, itβs safe to assume that the ever-competitive Thompson will try to speed that timeline up as much as possible.
> This upcoming road trip will be a tough test on that front, as the Warriors play at Memphis on Tuesday (Ja Morant and Desmond Bane), Milwaukee on Thursday (Giannis Antetokounmpo, Khris Middleton), Chicago on Friday (DeMar DeRozan and Zach LaVine) and Minnesota on Sunday (Anthony Edwards and DβAngelo Russel). As those close to him are quick to acknowledge, you canβt replicate these kinds of matchups during all those months of practice that led to this.
> Itβs one thing to guard Poole, Gary Payton II or Quindary Weatherspoon in one of those rare Warriors practices, in other words, but quite another to slow down the James Hardens, Chris Pauls and Damian Lillards of his world. Yet as early returns go, they all agreed that what he showed in his first game back was a very positive start.
Klay: > βI felt great defensively,β Thompson said. βI mean, I thought I could have had two blocks tonight β one might have been a bad call, but thatβs basketball. So Iβve got to accept those moments, and I felt really good. I felt great defensively. I felt strong, and Iβm excited for the challenge ahead, guarding the best guys in the league again.β
Steph: > βI know he wants to get back there where heβs known, like you said, as much for putting the ball in the basket as he is as a defensive two-way guy,β he said. βHe got a block tonight (and) should have had two β there was a questionable call on the first one. And a lot of that is just endurance and building t

- Constant missed assignments
- Poor cornerback play
- NO PASS RUSH RECENTLY!
- Lack of adjustments
- Just an overall lack of discipline and energy
We were very lucky to win this game and that's two worrying games in a row.
No repeat of the LaFleur curse with NO out of the postseason
GB has an easier path in the postseason than any team due to seeding. Their possible 1st round opponents are three teams they already beat (at AZ, at SF, home vs LA) or the Eagles
Tampa Bay and Dallas have to go through each other on the way to a potential NFCCG, and as such GB won't have to face both of the hottest teams in the conference
Green Bay is the only NFC team getting healthier as the season progresses, and should return Turner/Cobb/Jaire in two weeks. Outside shot at Z coming back remains a possibility. Tampa in particular is decimated by comparison, and GB will field a significantly better lineup than when they beat AZ/LAR in a potential rematch. With Jaire back, GB has the best secondary in the NFL and it isn't particularly close.
This is the year a bye week matters more than ever with Covid + an additional regular season game of wear-and-tear, and GB will benefit from it, plus a home-field advantage with fans. Also worth noting that January is forecasted to be very cold.
Rodgers likely just sealed his fourth MVP.

does their defense need to tighten up, or is it more a problem with the running game? what is the best way for the Packers to avoid another postseason dissapointing end?
The Padres are 78-77 the most they can win now is 85. The Cardinals already have 86 wins so the Padres canβt get a wild card spot.
What a crazy collapse from a team that was at one point 17 games above .500 and was in possession of a wild card spot for the majority of the season.
After signing his supermax contract extension in December 2020, Giannis Antetokounmpo had only goal on his mind: Bringing a title to Milwaukee. To do so, he:
