A list of puns related to "Postmortem Examination"
I'll be honest, I believe season 2 of Altered Carbon was complete and utter garbage when compared to season 1. If season 2 was the only season of Altered Carbon I would never have heard of it, much less watched it.
My hope is that by getting this out there, I will:
a) Get over just how dissapointing season 2 was after season 1, and;
b) Maybe someone at Netflix will read this and get a glimpse of the love some of us have for the art that is Altered Carbon.
Season 1 felt like it was set in the future. Season 2 on the other hand feels like the present.
Let me explain.
#Takeshi Kovacs
Joel Kinnaman’s Kovacs is odd, he feels like a person who wouldn’t fit into today’s world. His sculpted physique and facial features are unique. His sardonic humour is almost as dark as the dystopian lives of Bay City’s dwellers. But his motives—love, pain, suffering—are completely human.
Mackie’s Kovacs is just another dude. He looks like a generic dude, he talks like a generic dude, he acts like a generic dude (WITH GUN HANDS!!11!). And therefore, by the classic duck test, he is a generic dude (with gun hands). I won’t be getting into how Mackie’s Kovacs is a completely different Kovacs from the Kovacs we know from season 1 (you can read more about it here) but the fact that he is so different really takes away from the mind-bending notion of “same person, different body” which is so central to the idea of Altered Carbon.
#Partners in crime
Lets compare Kristin Ortega to Trepp (who?).
Initially, Ortega is following Kovacs because of >!the sleeve he is inhabiting, which belongs to her boyfriend/detective partner!<. That is NOT something one would see in today’s world, and is wholly unique to the mind-bending nature of Altered Carbon. Furthermore, Ortega, like Kinnaman’s Kovacs, is unique, just listen to her Latino accent, nobody else in the series has anything quite like it.
Trepp is just a lady with some strips of metal sticking out of her head. At least do something with those coils if you’re going to put them there. I’ll paraphrase what I read another poster say about her coils: “the functionality of the coils in season 2 boils down to a fancy cellphone and headaches.” Cool. OH BUT WAIT SHES LESBIAN! ok lol.

DNA Doe Project has identified the Twinsburg Ohio John Doe 1982 as Frank "Frankie" Little, Jr., a member of the R&B group the O'Jays. His remains were found February 18, 1982 in a shallow grave in the woods behind a machine shop on Cannon Road, with evidence of stabbing, blunt force trauma, and postmortem burning. It was theorized he had been deceased for 1-2 years before his discovery.
Not a lot of information seems to be available about his disappearance or when exactly his family lost contact, but he was believed to have been alive into the mid-1970s. Summit County Medical Examiner Lisa Kohler says she plans to rule his death a homicide.
Thanks to the DNA Doe Project and the City of Twinsburg Police Department, Little's family has some closure.
(I didn't see this posted yet, or any posts about this in general. If anyone knows of a write-up on him that I missed, please let me know!)
EDIT 2: The O'Jays sent a statement to Rolling Stone that said:
> Frankie was a guitarist and songwriter in the very early O’Jays [...] He came with us when we first ventured out of Cleveland and traveled to Los Angeles, but he also was in love with a woman in Cleveland that he missed so much that he soon returned back to Cleveland after a short amount of time. That was in the mid 1960s and we had not heard from him after then. Although this sounds like a tragic ending, we wish his family and friends closure to what appears to be a very sad story.
EDIT 3: /u/Basic_Bichette pointed out this composition he did for the O'Jays on YouTube, if anyone wants to hear his work. Thank you!

His fully-clothed body had appeared to come ashore after he had spent a relatively short period of time in the water, as it is believed that the victim died after the beginning of the new year. The cause of death in the autopsy report (which I received recently) is listed as "drowning"
The victim is considered to have been generally facially recognizable upon discovery, although some aspects of his appearance were slightly altered as a result of postmortem changes.
There are several indications that the decedent had originated from Europe. The victim was found with a large quantity of Swiss currency, which was mixed in with American money. He was also found with several articles of clothing that appear to have originated from Spain and Portugal.

I stumbled upon this case about a year ago on the Unidentified Wiki and have just been enveloped in it ever since. I fell down every possible rabbit hole and continue to come up empty. Since I'm studying journalism, I wanted to put what I've learned to use. I will also include a Google doc that has every source that I've viewed or cited in this write-up.
I want to give a huge heads up, as this case is rather intense and graphic, so viewer discretion is advised.
Thank you for your time, and I'd love to hear your thoughts.
Tragedy
In a man-made crater in the middle of a dam, the area was devoid of any activity. It seemed to be a landscape that was completely untouched by the hustle-and-bustle of nearby Los Angeles city life. At least, after the workday of construction crews.
That was, until a thunderous boom rendered the area a crime scene–one that would be, almost, completely forgotten for at least seventy years. This is the case of the Los Angeles County Does.
Before diving in, it should be emphasized that this case has little-to-no information on it; and save for some basic descriptions of the scene and the victims, as well as a slew of speculation, it is shrouded in mystery.
Discovery
The response time to this explosion was estimated to have been minutes, and the origin of said explosion was found to be a stick of dynamite. Whether this stick had been lit or if it was a dud is unknown. Regardless of how the stick combusted, the blast left two young people dead.
The first victim, a female, was estimated to be between the ages of thirteen to nineteen years of age and was–upon a glance–likely of petite stature. However, her height and weight were unable to be determined, as the explosion had left her mangled and in pieces; only her face was left in recognizable condition. Her male companion was far less lucky, as only the bottom half of him remained. Because of this, no physical details could be approximated (except for the pants and shoes he was wearing). This led investigators to believe that he was the one closest to or even holding the dynamite stick when it went off.
Odd Occurrences
Just a (surprising) note, cases of people dying from dynamite explosions were unusually common back in the early 1900s.
Specifically, a user of the Genealogy forums found two instances of young children dying while playing with idle sticks of the explosive. A February 1924 printing of the Ellensburg

First, the entire ship needed to be quarantined to prevent possible contamination from the alien species, and then suitable research facilities needed to be organized to investigate the artifacts. Representatives from every faction had opinions about every aspect. What does it mean to humans that another space-faring species has been found? Who will go recover the wreckage and how? How will first contact with this species be implemented to avoid a similar catastrophe to this one, or worse, biological contamination from humans to the aliens? Accidentally killing one ship is bad, but what if humans accidentally kill off an entire planet? It wasn’t long before a massive research effort and its parallel diplomatic effort were under-way.
The first breakthrough came from Information Specialist Almasi Mwangi herself. On the long journey back to human space, she had successfully identified markers in the recovered data storage media that allowed her to separate recordings of voice and video from other digital data. This meant that some of the alien ship’s logs could be replayed. This was jumped on by linguists who, by comparing the alien’s logs of the encounter with the Petrel’s logs of the encounter were able to construct a sort of Rosetta Stone for the alien language. This in turn led to learning the ship’s name (Dawnflower), the names of the crew, how their communications equipment worked, how their star charts worked, and much, much more. Humans now knew where the rladii-occupied planets were and how to communicate with them. It also caused bureaucrats and intelligence services across the Factions to realize how vulnerable humans were to other aliens capturing a human ship. There were going to have to be some serious redesigns for future deep-space ships.
Another set of breakthroughs came from a team headed up by Danish physician and biologist Mark Ruthgar and his team. The frozen pair brought back were indeed a middle aged male and female (named Gnolder and Nagla, according to the linguists), and the female was pregnant. This gave the biologists an unexpected bonanza of information about anatomy and reproduction, as well as tissues for understanding what dis
... keep reading on reddit ➡I think there are a couple of factors that indicate she was alive for roughly 45 minutes following the head blow, including the amount of blood, the weight of her brain, and Dr. Rorke's comments pointing to global cerebral edema, which could take 45-120 minutes to develop. Dr. Rorke's comments differ from Dr. Meyer who performed the autopsy. I believe this was because she was a highly experienced neuropathologist and he was a forensic pathologist that probably didn't see a lot of cases like this. I will address each of these issues below.
First, there was more blood around her skull than many people let on. From the Skull & Brain section of the autopsy report:
Upon reflection of the scalp there is found to be an extensive area of scalp hemorrhage along the right temporoparietal area extending from the orbital ridge, posteriorly all the way to the occipital area. This encompasses an area measuring approximately 7 x 4 inches.
On removal of the skull cap there is found to be a thin film of subdural hemorrhage measuring approximately 7-8 cc over the surface of the right cerebral hemisphere and extending to the base of the cerebral hemisphere.
There is a thin film of subarachnoid hemorrhage overlying the entire right cerebral hemisphere.
I think we have more than a little blood here. Maybe not a massive amount, but there was more than a teaspoon or two. And we have Dr. Kerry Brega, a chief neurologist at Denver Health Medical Center, saying it isn't uncommon to see skull fractures without massive bleeding in the brain. On 1, the autopsy report says it "grossly appears to be fresh hemorrhage with no evidence of organization." But organization refers to something different than clotting (see first link below) and would take a fair amount of time to develop. I think "grossly" used here simply means viewable at the macroscopic level (with the naked eye vs. under a microscope) and "fresh" means in the hyperacute phase of a hemorrhage (roughly the first 12 hours, see second link below). I think "fresh" can be used to describe a new wound, like in this case, or a rebleed of an old wound possibly. And I think looking at the blood under a microscope can give a better sense of what stage it is in (e.g., hyperacute, acute, subacute, etc.), but that was not the case here. Thus use of "grossly" and "fresh" are what you would expect to see in the autopsy report.

Some quotes of significance:
> Biological anthropologists Megan Perry and Chris Stantis analyzed the interpretations of the human remains, noting that the examination was carried out by a medical doctor and not a trained bioarchaeologist. According to Perry, “MDs may know the basics of anatomy, but they generally are NOT experts in interpreting bone taphonomy or distinguishing between antemortem, perimortem, and postmortem trauma.”
One of the researchers Steven Collins, describes his motivation for the dig at Tall el-Hammam:
> Collins states that he sought to verify biblical stories to challenge the “insidious little vermin of gnawing doubt about the credibility of the Bible. Christianity is lost in Europe because it lost faith in the biblical text. Post-Christian America is very, very close.”
Finally, the consequences of biblical archaeology pseudoscience:

There are some commonly held myths about Boulder County Coroner Dr. John Meyer's work in the Ramsey case that need to be dispelled. In this post I intend to demonstrate why they are baseless and false.
#Myth #1: Dr. Meyer spent an insufficient amount of time, only ten minutes or less, at the crime scene.
There's no rule governing the amount of time a coroner needs to spend at a scene of a death. In the ten minutes Meyer was at the Ramsey home, he examined the body, viewed the crime scene, and fulfilled the obligations he went there for. Per Colorado law, Meyer's presence was required to formally pronounce the death and authorize the transport of the decedent away from the scene of death. To quote Dr. Meyer, his ten-minute visit was "not indicative of the extent of our investigation.''
It should be noted that JonBenet's body was already in the custody of the Coroner's Office since not long after being found on the afternoon of December 26. Coroner's investigator Patricia Dunn was on site examining the body by 1:23PM. She would remain at the scene with the body until it was transported to the morgue around 10:45PM. In other words, while Dr. Meyer spent only ten minutes with the body at the crime scene, his designee had spent a much longer time doing so on behalf of his office.
#Myth #2: Dr. Meyer failed to take the liver temperature at the crime scene, an oversight that hindered the determining of a time frame of JonBenet's death.
First, I'd like to address the source of this myth. Most people get this information from this passage in the book JonBenet: Inside the Ramsey Murder Investigation by Donald A. Davis and Steve Thomas:
>The search warrant for the Ramsey residence was authorized at eight o'clock that night, and twenty-three minutes later, Dr. John Meyer, the coroner, put on protective booties and latex gloves and entered to perform the job of officially pronouncing the child dead. [...]
>Meyer stayed only seven minutes, not taking the time to perform two routine procedures that would have helped establish the time of death -- taking vitreous fluid from the eye and obtaining the internal body temperature. Determining the time frame in which death occurred is extraordinarily important in a murder investigation and would present a problem for months to come.
Since Steve Thomas was a lead investigator on the Ramsey case, most people as

This has been an unresolved mystery for almost 41 years since she was found dead November 1, 1980. I thought it was worth an update post.
I started working on this post and found out that her profile on the Texas DPS website has also been removed.
She was a murder victim found dead in Huntsville, Texas. Cause of death was strangulation. Her estimated age was determined to be 14-20 at the time of death but based on the postmortem photos, I am guessing she's in the younger age range. She was lying face down in the grass approximately on the side of I-45.
She was determined to be in good health with the medical examiner determining that she was from a middle-class background.
After news of her death broke, several witnesses came forward who all said they encountered her in the area around 24 hours before her death. These included the manager of a gas station and two employees at the Hitch 'n' Post truck stop, all of whom described this girl as wearing blue jeans, a dirty yellow pullover, and a white knit sweater with large pockets. This girl had been carrying red leather-strapped high heel sandals.
It was speculated she was searching for an inmate at a nearby prison. Inmates and employees of the Ellis Prison Farm were shown mortuary photographs of the victim, and nobody could ID her. Searches of nearby towns, including yearbooks, did not lead to any missing persons and since then she's been a Jane Doe.
Walker County Jane Doe was buried in the Adickes Addition at Oakwood Cemetery. Her burial followed an open casket funeral. The cemetery in which she was buried is located within the town where her body was found. She is buried beneath a tombstone donated by Morris Memorials; the inscription upon her tombstone reads, "Unknown white female. Died Nov. 1, 1980."
She was exhumed in 1999 for a forensic examination, including DNA. She's had a DNA profile in CODIS since then: mtDNA available in CODIS. Ref #F-2713.
It would be amazing if this young lady got her name back before the 41st anniversary of her murder! I hope they release the name.

First of all, dad jokes CAN be NSFW, it clearly says so in the sub rules. Secondly, it doesn't automatically make it a dad joke if it's from a conversation between you and your child. Most importantly, the jokes that your CHILDREN tell YOU are not dad jokes. The point of a dad joke is that it's so cheesy only a dad who's trying to be funny would make such a joke. That's it. They are stupid plays on words, lame puns and so on. There has to be a clever pun or wordplay for it to be considered a dad joke.

In "The Black Swan", Nassim Taleb discusses probability and the impact of unlikely but extreme events. He argues that we have a hard time understanding impacts and probabilities that are very large or very small. That what we do not know can be much more meaningful than anything we do know. Taleb argues that most of the course of human history has been dominated by extreme, unexpected, improbable events. And that human society will become more so in the future.
Taleb argues that we would benefit from improving how we think about unlikely, impactful events, and offers several tips for doing this. In this review I will outline the book itself, and then collect and present a summary of tips. Scroll down to "What To Do About It" if you just want the list of tips.
A Black Swan event has three properties:
Taleb lists the Internet, the laser, and the start of World War One as examples of Black Swan events. Black Swans can be either negative (like a sudden war) or positive (like discovering a new drug or invention - like penicillin).
Throughout his book, Taleb argues that history moves in large leaps and bounds, not small steps. Most of the big changes in human history come from Black Swans.
Taleb believes we should work to make our lives and society more robust to Black Swans. Understand them better. Become less surprised by them. And be more ready, so we aren't as impacted. "The surprising part is not our bad errors, or even how bad they are, but that we are not aware of them".
Taleb distinguishes between two types of random probability and events - “mild” randomness with slight variations vs “wild” randomness with extremely impactful events. He calls these “Mediocristan” and “Extremistan”.
In Mediocristan - all of the events and data are about average. No single event or person greatly changes the total.

How could a voice so overlaid with distortions sound smug? Then he was stabbed again. And his legs collapsed underneath him.
As he fell, he tried to swing his right arms smash his attacker in the face but his arms…just… flopped…limply. WHAT THE FUCK!
Finally, he saw it. The monster. The thing that chased him all this way. A silver mask covered the upper half its face gave the appearance of a polished skull. He did tell me to let him know when my article was completed. Nevertheless, I thought it useful to reproduce my email here, especially since this topic came up recently. Hello, Dr. Allison.
[Greeting and introductory stuff snipped]
To get right to the point, you argue that the eschatological expectations of the ancient Christians--specifically a belief in an imminent resurrection--would have influenced their belief in the resurrection of Jesus (see Allison's discussion of Pesch in The Resurrection of Jesus, pp. 17-19, 183-206). There are several components to your thinking:
Jesus's predicted his resurrection, which you take to have originally meant that he would be resurrected along with all the righteous dead in the near future, not individually and not literally a few days after his death.
4Q521, which is parallel in some aspects to Matthew 11.5 and Luke 7.22, imagines that eschatological events, including the resurrection, were imminent.
Daniel 7-12, which influenced Jesus, imagines a resurrection of the dead when the kingdom arrived, which Jesus believed was imminent.
But in your view, none of this would have been sufficient to lead anyone to believe that Jesus had been resurrected individually a few days after his death. As you state:
>'[R]esurrection was, in Judaism, typically and perhaps invariably envisaged as a public and communal event of the future. It was not about a lone martyr. If, then, Jesus took up the idea, it is antecedently probable that he anticipated not Easter morning but the general resurrection of the dead. It was only Christian theology that turned his resurrection into an event unto itself and thereby created two resurrections—the Messiah’s resurrection within a few days of his death and the general resurrection further down the road (The Resurrection of Jesus, p. 199).
It was the empty tomb and resurrection appearances that were responsible for this tweak, although the eschatological category of 'resurrection' helped supply the interpretation.
To put it bluntly (I know you'll appreciate this), I b

https://thewm3revelations.wordpress.com/2013/03/24/understanding-the-crime/
To summarize our conclusions from that post, the facts led us to these conclusions.
We know that this was the crime scene and not a dump site.
We know that the victims were likely sexually assaulted.
We know the killer didn’t bring anything to tie the victims up with and instead improvised, by using the shoe laces.
We know that the victims were likely attacked with sticks, being beaten over the head. This would suggest that the killer also acquired a weapon at the crime scene. These injuries would also likely suggest a blitz style attack.
We know Michael Moore had likely tried to flee.
We know the victims died from multiple types of injuries.
We know that a knife was likely used to mutilate the victims.
We know the victims were also drowned.
We know a possible piece of evidence was some candle wax located on the shirt of one victim.
We know the killer both arrived at the scene, and left on foot.
We know that this was a popular area for children and teens to come hangout.
We know that the person involved in this crime has shown some traits of a disorganized offender.
And lastly, we know that there may have been more than one person involved in the commission of this crime.
Three different criminal profilers would give opinions on this case. The three profilers were Brent Turvey, Pat Brown, and John Douglas.
Turvey’s profile has more or less been discredited by Pat Brown’s analysis of the case, which heavily criticized Turvey as trying to custom fit his profile to the defense’s alternative suspect, John Mark Byers. In his profile he suggests that Robin Hood Hills is a dump site and not where the victims were murdered, but the problem with that, is we know that’s not the case. John Douglas would even discredit Turvey by stating in his profile that it was where the murders occurred, and not a dump site.
Now since Turvey’s assessment is in question lets discuss the Douglas profile. His profile also seems to be custom fitted to a suspect. This time Terry Hobbs. In fact Douglas has gotten in trouble in the past for tailoring a profile to match a suspect. This was the Guy Paul Morin case, which occurred in Canada. At the time investigators there were working the murder of a girl named Christine J

On the morning of March 8th, 1921, an employee of the O’Laughlin Stone Company discovered the body of a child floating in the quarry pond. Law enforcement was called, and the boy was examined by the county coroner. John Doe was a white male child between 5-7 years of age. He had blond hair, brown eyes, and was short, at approximately 3’6. The boy had been beaten, and the coroner stated that the fatal wound had been a strike to the back of his head. It was estimated that the postmortem interval could have been anywhere from a week up to 6 months.
The boy was informally nicknamed “Little Lord Fauntleroy” after the main character of a children’s novel. The reason for this nickname was that the John Doe was found in expensive clothing that indicated he came from a wealthier family. He was wearing a gray sweater, a light colored blouse, black stockings, and leather shoes. It was not possible to identify the boy based on his clothing, however one clue came of this. A store owner recognised the descriptions of the clothes the boy had been wearing, and claimed that he had sold clothes like that at a discount a few months earlier. Clothing of that kind was not something the store would usually sell, but the store owner had come over the stock of another store after that store had gone out of business. Therefore, Little Lord Fauntleroy might not have been from an upper class background, but was simply wearing clothes bought at a discount.
Law Enforcement displayed the body of the child at a local funeral home in an effort to identify him. A 1000 USD award was offered to the person who could positively identify him. Nothing came of that. A local woman named Minnie Conrad raised money to bury the boy at the Prairie Home cemetery in Waukesha. His gravestone still stands.
Another employee at the Stone Company claimed that a woman and man approached him in late January, or early February. The woman was dressed in a red coat and was crying when she asked if the employee had seen a young boy. The employee claims that the man glanced over at the pond when the woman asked. They left in a Ford vehicle. They were never heard from again.
A woman was seen several times in the year following the boy’s death approaching his grave. She was dressed completely in black funeral attire.
In the 1940’s, a theory was presented that the child could possibly be Homer Lemay. Homer’s father claimed that his son had been adopted by acquaintances, and had died in an automobile acciden

The body of Mrs. Ellen Wrighton had been found 02/05/97 on the shores of Chesil Bank (Langton Herring Weymouth, UK 50.625188,-2.555084) approximately 05:46 by two local men fishing: a Mr. William Osborne and a Mr. Cian O’Bradagain. Local authorities were called following the discovery, they arrived on scene approximately one hour later (06:40.) Dorset Constables, after following standard procedure, had Mrs. Wrighton’s remains transported to The Coroners Office Of The County of Dorset (Town Hall, Bournemouth BH2 6DY) at approximately 09:30.
Prior to autopsy, a staff member (named below) observed the remains’ notable abnormalities and reported them to local authorities who subsequently brought it to the attention of MI5. MI5 acting under the direction of Her Majesty’s SIS, procured the body immediately and had the remains of Mrs. Wrighton transported to a private facility (1304DF Hudswell Lane, Corsham SN13 9NS.)
Special Agent █████ ██████ led MI5 preliminary investigations on 03/05/97, 08:00. Coupled with overnight observations and MI5’s initial examination, due to the nature of Mrs. Wrighton’s remains, Special Agent █████ ██████ made an urgent request to escalate to the direct attention of SIS. TCA was contacted by Agent ███████ ██████████ of SIS on 04/05/97, complying with inter-agency agreement NSP-64. The remains were subsequently transported to an undisclosed TCA facility arriving 06/05/97, as per TCA standard procedures and functions.
Upon TCA review of MI5 investigative findings, the statements (taken by local law enforcement) of Mr. Osborne, Mr. O’Bradagain, as well as the statement of a Dr. Andrea Reid (M

Even stranger, the girl was dressed in what investigators would describe as a “witch’s gown”. Despite the odd circumstances and the rural region in which the body was found, the girl still has not been identified, nor has her killer been arrested.
Eastern Arizona is a sparsely populated, rural part of the state. Graham County, where the body was discovered, is 4,641 square miles in area with a population of only 39,000 people. Its largest town by far, Safford, has a population of 9,500. This is not a county where it is easy for a teenager’s disappearance to go unnoticed.
The body was found seven miles outside of Artesia, AZ and thirteen miles south of Stafford. The float box in which the girl’s body was submerged is used to water livestock and is located within a small corral. Besides the corral, there are no manmade structures nearby, just desert scrubland.
Could the girl have been from a larger city nearby? Artesia is 1 hour 45 minutes away from Tucson, over 3 hours from Phoenix, and 3 hours from Las Cruces, NM. It is surrounded by miles upon miles of empty desert. If the body had been placed a couple hundred feet farther into the desert brush, it likely would never have been found. Why would someone take a body so far from the city only to leave it in the one place where it would almost certainly be found eventually? If Artesia Doe was killed in the same area where her body was found, why was she out there? And why was she dressed as a witch? Was it a Halloween costume or something else entirely?
It is unlikely that Artesia Doe was a migrant from Latin America, as this part of Arizona is too far north. Migrants coming in from Mexico usually make their way to Tucson or Phoenix. Even if she were lost, there’s no way she couldn’t have run into I-10 before reaching Artesia, which is 90 miles north of the border.
Artesia Doe was probably between 13 and 17 years old, though she may have been as old as 22. She stood 5’1 tall and had short, light brown hair. Investigators believe she died in 2020, but the exact postmortem interval is unknown. The body was in such poor condition that weight and eye color could not be determined. Fortunately, a facial reconstruction is now available through the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.

For context I'm a Refuse Driver (Garbage man) & today I was on food waste. After I'd tipped I was checking the wagon for any defects when I spotted a lone pea balanced on the lifts.
I said "hey look, an escaPEA"
No one near me but it didn't half make me laugh for a good hour or so!
Edit: I can't believe how much this has blown up. Thank you everyone I've had a blast reading through the replies 😂
It really does, I swear!

6. First cousin marriages Legal:
Qur'an 4:23
This verse specifies the categories of female relatives PROHIBITED for married to Muslim men. There is NO MENTION of direct or first cousins. First cousins are blood relatives.
Qur'an 33:50
The prophet is permitted to marry female cousins in this verse.
Muhammad reportedly married off his daughter Fatimah, to her cousin Ali. Muhammad is reported to have married his cousin, Zainab bint Jash. Numerous companions of Muhammad are reported to have married their first cousins. All these have been reported by hadith collectors.
So, putting all these together, sharia scholars conclude that marriage to first cousins is not only permissible, but recommendable.
How Cousin marriage detract from scientific growth
Cousin marriages prevent the diversification of family genes. It increases the chance of newborns inheriting homozygous recessive genetic diseases like albinism, thalassemia, cystic fibrosis etc whose allele may be shared among close family relatives.
7. Corpses Should BE Buried QUICKLY
>Sahih al-Bukhari » Book of Funerals
>
>The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "Hurry up with the dead body for if it was righteous, you are forwarding it to welfare; and if it was otherwise, then you are putting off an evil thing down your necks."
According to sharia law, if people die, they should be buried without wasting time. So that the deceased can proceed with the reward of afterlife if they lived a noble life, and so that the community would be freed from the curse of the deceased if they lived a sinful life.
There are also other ahadith that forbid tampering with human corpses.
How Quick or Immediate Burial of Corpse Can Retards Scientific Growth
Our modern understanding of human anatomy and physiology heavily owe to cadaver(corpse) studies. Medical schools still rely upon cadaver dissection to educate students - potential health care providers - on how the human body is structured and functions.
If all of humanity immediately buried their corpses, how far could we have come on human anatomy and physiology? We'd most likely still rely on the ancient & antiquated teachings of Aristotle or Galen, and so many illnesses would not be understood to develop their cures.
Another thing, burial delay is necessity for postmortem exam
