Pretty sure it's a wasp, it loves the swamp milkweed I have and seems to be drinking it's pollen. About 1 inch long in eastern Ontario. Just wondering what kind of wasp it is.

Fig Trees do not reproduce via dropping their seeds, instead they have the Fig Wasp pollinate the figs by digging into the fig, bringing pollen from another fig inside, laying their eggs, and dying. When the eggs hatch the males mate with the females and the females dig out, looking for another fig.

Seattle, WA... Another bug in my garden I don't know. At first I thought it was a sickly hoverfly, but probably not. About a 1/4 inch big. Seemed to actively be munching on the pollen in the flower. It's tail kept curling under - very similar to when hoverflies lay eggs. Parasitic wasp of some sort?

You know what I missed in Queen Wasp and Malediktor? Chloe interaction with Pollen

I guess they talked a little after Chloe found bee miraculous. It wasn't very long but I think some bond would be made. I really hoped for Chloe to worry about her after her miraculous got destroyed. Something like "Will Pollen be ok Ladybug?". Or in Malediktor I expected her to hug Pollen, say she missed her. I know they are not friends but Pollen is what make Chloe's dream come true, being a superhero. She calls her "her queen", doesn't know how mean Chloe can be. It would be really cool if she treated her as a friend or at least, I don't know, talk to her?

In the same way there is a UV and Pollen Index along with weather forecasts in the summer, there should also be a Wasp index!

Have been trying to bring the kids a few places about the country the last few weekends, only to have our picnics or outdoor eating taken over by non stop wasp nuisance! Most of the places it was because they have taken ownership of the bins (I pity the staff who are meant to change the bins!) and the bins are around the eating areas. I don’t see many wasp traps either though and the bins tend to be open lids which makes it too easy for them to swarm them!

TIL that some orchids (a type of flower) attract male wasps to act as pollinators by modifying their labellum (one of the petals) to roughly mimic a female wasp. While the male is tricked into thinking he is getting laid, the orchid pollen sticks to his fur and is transferred to the next flower. youtube.com/watch?v=-h8I3…
