Picked this up for $30 on FB marketplace, first scooter. Overvolted from 36-48 volts and replaced it with a lithium pack and a better motor controller for instant torque along with a full twist throttle with key ignition. Been riding it to work and back every day along with pleasure riding.

Seems like most people here have an e-bike to replace some driving in their car or for commuting.
Does anyone own one just for fun/lesiure riding? Lots of trails, or at least sidewalks, around where I live. I primarily want a set for the wife and I with a kiddo seat on the rear rack to ride around town. Just another opportunity to get outdoors and enjoy some time together.
Why not a regular bike? Honestly, because I'm not riding 20 miles up and down river bluff hills with my one year old for fun. We have rented ebikes and really enjoyed it.

Dumb question, is pleasure riding english or western and does it matter which one you start with?
Basically I'm starting lessons soon and the trainer wants to know I want to learn western or English and what my goals are. I know I want to pleasure ride and maybe do some jumping, and I have experience in English (though being a Cattle (ranch?) Hand would be awesome, my current job pays me far too much to consider switching jobs lmao). But other than events I don't really know the difference between English and Western riding other than canting(sp? The mini squats lmao).

We are in the home stretch, no matter which way this lands, my sincere thank you for going through this with me. Regardless of the snark and jokes I make, I know that at the heart of this trial is a very difficult topic that hits extremely close to home for many of us. I may choose humour to deal with my own pain that this trial has brought up but that doesn't mean that it is any less painful.
