A list of puns related to "Photobioreactor"
Hello everyone,
What do you think about such a device?
This product could be a solution for keeping optimal air quality level, reducing amount of air pollutions and carbon dioxide.
Hey guys,
I am wondering if you have an input and reference to CO2 scrubbing using algae?
My team and I have been developing a conception for an Algae photobioreactor.
What is Algae BioReactor? This is an appliance that is used in interior spaces as an air purifier to diminish CO2 and filter the most harmful micro particles from the air. Algae bioreactor that uses the power of potent photosynthetic activity of algae even ten times bigger carbon dioxide consumption than grown tree plants.
Dimensions of Algae Reactor? 35x35x35 pyramid outer dimensions
Geometrical characteristics? Radial symmetry, four sided( maybe three sided) polyhedron inscribed core skeleton (apex-base relation)
System features/possibilities? Algae reactor is scale sensitive, replicable( depending on the necessity of the users), The system grows in circuits groups up to 6 reactors connect to one circuit
The purpose that this product plays in the interior? 1 Utilitarian - healthy living, decarbonising indoor air, purification, ambient lighting 2 Aesthetic β sculptural, installation 3 Psychological - calming effects, ever-changing shades of green 4 Social - climate change contribution, indoor farming community
Where best to install it? Due to activities that release pollutants,CO2 and chemicals (cooking, cleaning) in households indoor spaces the reactor will be most useful in spaces like: kitchen, bathroom, entrance area, all spaces that have elevation towards dense outdoor pollution. Public spaces ( cafeterias, pubs, bars, clubs, restaurants), offices etc.
Hello!
My team is exploring innovative design solutions for indoor air purification system.
Our goal is not just to filter and clean polluted indoor atmosphere but as well produce meaningful amount of fresh O2. For that purpose we want to use algae culture that would be maintained by the users of our product. We want to build it by using converted recycled materials to reduce production footprint.

... keep reading on reddit β‘I am finding conflicting evidence from various sources. Some sources say an acre of algae can sequester 18,000 tons per year, some say 2,000, whereas others make seemingly ludicrous claims of 2 million tons per year.
Does anyone know an authoritative citation for this answer? We are doing a research project and trying to calculate how much CO2 per acre a farm of algae plastic bag-type biophotoreactors would sequester. Any help is much appreciated!
I was hoping to build a system with one "sterile"(not lab conditions, just the best I can do at home) growth medium introduction tank, two gas exchange/algae extraction tanks, one for each type, and a tubular photobioreactor system that snakes through my appartment,
I was planning on using an aquarium co2 Bubbler and an automatic pressure release valve (set just above atmospher) and several peristaltic pumps to circulate, as well as LED grow light tubes that the algae tubes wrap around.
I can weld so I am hoping to build the exchange chambers out of stainless and build the algae tube sections out of UV stabalized, food grade tube. All in all I am hoping to be able to harvest enough to effectively supplement the diets of two people so it doesn't have to be massive.
Thank you in advance for any information! !
Does anyone know who sells the large bioreactors that are essentially a wire mesh cylinder holding a large (presumably) Polypropylene bag?
Here's an example of what I mean.
They seem like they could be DIY'd pretty easily, though sometimes it's just easier to go with a company.
Also, for those using this system, are the bags reusable? Or do you replace the bags everytime?
There doesnt seem to be a lot of information on constructing medium scale PBRs . Does anyone know of some? Thakns!
Hey guys, so I me and a friend are trying to make a simple photobioreactor for a school project and weβre wondering if anyone knows a way to pump CO2 into the algae solution, any links to pumps of that sort would be appreciated or where to look. Thank you ;)
I'd like to build a photobioreactor to grow spirulina for personal consumption. I'd be down to work with some people so that we can all have our own to take home. I figure by pooling resources, skill sets, and know-how a group would get better results than if I just crappily throw something together by myself.
I'd like to grow enough for daily consumption and sharing with others. I'd like to consider form as important as function. Ideally it would serve as a nice indoor "piece" as well as a functional food production unit.
Well, anyone interested?
Hi r/RenewableEnergy, I'm dead set on getting a job in a renewable sector as my studies have lead me to believe this is one of the most effective ways to combat climate change. I studied Wildlife Conservation at University, yet decided to take some time out for mental health reasons and I'll hopefully graduate in a few years instead. For now though I'm keen to get some industry experience. Algal biofuels fascinate me, as does working with other renewables. Obviously something like engineering would be more applicable here. I'd truly love to help developing African communities avoid the dirty energy step and go straight to local battery storage with renewables. But starting with something like sales for solar panels systems (without cold-calling) or public speaking would definitely work for me.
However, I don't necessarily know where to start with this after being quite unsuccessful applying. Does anyone have any advice for a young enthusiastic man like myself?
Hi guys, can anyone tell me what are challenges in creating tubular pbr for algae. This pbr is aimed for purifying polluted air.
Aiming to install in open spaces like this one https://www.designboom.com/technology/the-cloud-collective-culture-urbaine-suburban-viaduct-algae-geneve-villes-et-champs-switzerland-10-31-2014/
Guys, I am from IT background, need some references for PBR and algae cultivation to do this.
Right now I am thinking like :
Tubular PBR is right choice.
For circulation of algae with water I'll need pump.
Algae requires nutrients to grow.
Will require a separate water tank to fill water in system when required.
Have seen some schematic diagrams.
I feel algae has more potential to purify than trees themselves
Questions: Is it possible to do such thing with low maintenance?
What will happen of algae that dies in pipe? I think it will not be a nutrient for existing algae
How to harvest it?
Will algae adapt/survive and multiply in polluted air?
I'm trying to makelow cost pbr solutions.
Guys I am trying to make this as easy as possible but have very less knowledge in this field.
I don't want to step on anybody's toes here, but the amount of non-dad jokes here in this subreddit really annoys me. First of all, dad jokes CAN be NSFW, it clearly says so in the sub rules. Secondly, it doesn't automatically make it a dad joke if it's from a conversation between you and your child. Most importantly, the jokes that your CHILDREN tell YOU are not dad jokes. The point of a dad joke is that it's so cheesy only a dad who's trying to be funny would make such a joke. That's it. They are stupid plays on words, lame puns and so on. There has to be a clever pun or wordplay for it to be considered a dad joke.
Again, to all the fellow dads, I apologise if I'm sounding too harsh. But I just needed to get it off my chest.
Do your worst!
They were cooked in Greece.
I'm surprised it hasn't decade.
