I'm just curious what the 'proper' way to wear a peaked cap is?
Method 1 can be seen in this photo (original). The top of the hat is peaked up at the front and slouched down at the back, with the top of the hat being at a slight angle to the chequered band. There's usually a good 1-1.5 inches between the top of the ears and the bottom of the hat.
Method 2 can be seen in this photo (original). The hat is pulled down so the bottom is touching or almost touching the ears. This has the effect of pushing the back up so that the top is level with the chequered band, and the back is just as peaked as the front.
I've seen both styles being worn, is one right and the other wrong? Maybe it varies by region - officer 1 is from South Yorkshire Police, and officer 2 is from Police Scotland.

I recently saw this hat for sale for (what I assume to be) an m69 soviet peaked cap. However, I am unsure as to which branch this cap belongs to. For example, I know the following:
Red: Army
Blue: Air force
Black: Artillery/Tank
Dark blue: Ministry of internal affairs
etc.
However, I'm unsure as to which branch brown belongs to, if any. As far as I know this may be a fake and the seller simply used brown because it looks nice. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you!

I'm in the process of getting my licence, and I took the BASC safe shot theory last night, and was confused by the answers. The options were:

Ear Protection, Eye Protection, and a peaked cap

I went for the first option, as it mentioned eye protection, but I am surprised to hear that a peaked cap is recommended PPE over gloves. Surely the barrel can get quite hot after a fair few shots? Or is this a dress etiquette thing?

Hello, I'm conducting a little bit of research and I wasn't majorly sure where to start.
So i'm wondering if your roles in the Civil Service lead you to wearing uniform. Particularly if you're issued a peaked cap or not, for any occasion such as the MGS are issued one for day to day use, you may get issued one for special occasions only.

So being a dilligent JNCO I stumbled onto our dress regs last week, turns our our officers are getting their Side Caps back to wear with certain orders of dress.
I'd quite like it if we went back to having Forage Caps with No 2s, as we currently wear berets and I think with the amount of people who either go full retard or fuller retard it might just make getting dressed a little bit easier - and not look quite as shit.

I can't seem to find any suitable 3D files to print at home and nobody seems to make peaked cap heads for any of the common interchangeable head systems so i'm shit outta luck there.
