A relative of the North American wild turkey, the ocellated turkey resides mainly on the Yucatán Peninsula as well as in parts of Belize and Guatemala. The ocelli on the tail, for which the ocellated turkey is named, have been likened to the patterning typically found on peafowl.

I'm having so much fun breeding animals like crazy and releasing them just to see what the random animal I get is. Three times I've told myself I'm going to bed, but then I think, it's only three more releases to see what the random animal I get is! LOL. (Although if I get ANOTHER himalayan bear I think I'll scream! LOL ) This is becoming my most favourite anniversary celebration yet!

Parrots and Peafowl?
My wife recently brought up the idea of adding peafowl to our ever-growing menagerie. I was wondering if anyone here had any experience keeping both parrots and peafowl. We live somewhere with cold winters, so they’d be kept inside (likely in the sunroom) for part of the year, and our parrots are free-roaming for the most part. Would having peafowl in one room cause any issues with parrots in another?

I photographed this beautiful Indian Peafowl in the wild. It is the national bird of India. It's native to India but is now introduced to various parts of the world. The males open up their long feathers and dance to attract the females in the breeding season (OC)
