A list of puns related to "Patterned Vertical Alignment"
For those of us that are truly OCD about our bases linking up exactly, I have come across something that I haven't seen discussed here so I hope this can help save a headache or two regarding the world grid.
As it has been repeated ad nauseam, as long as you place your foundations facing the cardinal directions while holding Ctrl, you will be attached to the world grid, at least to the X & Y axis guaranteed.
The one thing I haven't seen mentioned here before is that if you start a base on a 4m or 2m foundation, and then move away and place a 1m foundation on the world grid for another base, these two foundations will be misaligned on the Z axis by .5m thus never letting you cleanly (without clipping a ramp) connect your bases. In the picture, I built a 4m and 1m and then tried connecting them with 1m foundations but you can see the half height difference.
https://preview.redd.it/06h7rg7ua6281.png?width=5120&format=png&auto=webp&s=e7152f685be3a8b637c2749d43e4b138ade2ee31
The reason for this is because when adding foundations to the world grid, it connects from the vertical (z axis) center of the foundation. 4m and 2m foundations connect at a height of 2m and 1m respectively while 1m foundations connects at .5m.
The simple solution for people wanting to keep that perfect grid on all 3 axis is when you build a unconnected foundation, start with a 2m or 4m foundation to set your z plane, then you can build 1m off of it.
Now while this drives me crazy from an OCD perspective because I like using the 1m foundations over 2m and 4m typically, I can also see this as a nice feature for creative building which is why I am hesitant to call this a bug.
What are everyone else's thoughts on this, bug or feature?

Hi all! I have a FED 3b which seems to be working fine otherwise but in the rangefinder the images are vertically separated, making focusing quite challenging. Does anyone possess a repair manual or the knowledge how to adjust the rangefinder on this model. The guides about removing a screw don't seem to apply here so looking for someone who knows for certain how it's done. Thanks!
Why are the ribbon and navigation pane not vertically aligned in the new MS Outlook?

I've been having fun learning about GBA modding, and I've installed an IPS screen. This is a funny issue, and it's very minor, but I'm really just curious if anyone else has noticed it. At the time that I turn the GBA on, the screen will be either perfectly centered, or vertically pushed up one pixel. It seems random each time I turn it on. It's only really noticeable in games like Final Fantasy 1, where the menus have these perfect square borders around the whole screen. Sometimes they're perfect, sometimes the top is missing one pixel while there is an extra row of black pixels at the bottom. Don't get me wrong, I'm not super hung up on this issue, but I'm extremely curious about it! Has anyone else used this mod and noticed this happening before?
Hey, need some advice how to align my monitors better. Does anyone maybe have the same setup or can give me some tips? I use a WQHD horizontal monitor as the main monitor and FullHD vertical as the secondary.
First issue is the resolution difference. When I move the cursor from one monitor to the other, it stays the same height in one place, but the more I try it upwards or downwards, it changes the position increasingly. It doesnβt bother me that much but is there anything that could fix this except to lower the resolution?
Also, when I try to automatically adjust a window on the vertical one by dragging it to the top or bottom corner, it only expands it to full screen. Is there a way so that a space for the top and bottom part gets reserved?
Lastly, is it possible to disable the just described feature completely when moving a window from the secondary monitor the the main one? Iβd like to have a smoother transition.
Hello there,
So I've been trying to align my mirrors and tbh it's a really frustrating experience so far but I got everything lined up aside from the vertical alignment and I'm running into an issue.I basically put a piece of MDF down with a piece of tape on top to see better and I did a pulse close up and a pulse further away and if my information is correct as soon as those 2 pulses line up then it should be aligned vertically.
Now for the problem! When I go to line them up it starts hitting the edge of the nozzle before lining up meaning I can't get them to line up properly.
What should I do to fix it?I tried adjusting the 2 left thumb screws to get it to line up, I tried the right one by itself to get it to line up, I tried turning them all so I can adjust more but it also hits the edge of the nozzle.I can't adjust the side mirror because then it won't be firing at the same spot across the bed.
So I'm a little lost right now.
I'll add this here too since this is what I have right now:

Hello guys
So this might seem silly but it is driving me crazy actually

Any idea how can I change the vertical alignment of the orange check marks so it is at the beginning of the sentence not the middle?
I play valorant, so keeping your crosshairs vertically alignment is very important. Whenever I find myself flick (or just rotating fast), I find my verticality of my crosshair is completely thrown off, and i have to aim according to my x and y. This is a big problem for me. 1) Is this the cause of some physical positioning of my chair height or arm anchor thatβs causing this 2) Are there any drills in kovaak to help specifically for this? NOTE: this may be a problem because of how my arm is anchored, being by my elbow anchored off the desk, so when i move horizontally, my arm is moving in a circular motion. I also play on low sense btw
Hello All.
I've been trying to parse through the AWM docs to vertically align my systray
and mylayoutbox
widget to the center in my wibar. I'm struggling with figuring this out. Would anyone be able to kindly lend some wisdom here? Currently, this is what my systray looks like in the wibar.
https://preview.redd.it/2hrb1e9j74o71.png?width=249&format=png&auto=webp&s=01abe1bf1a165c64347246604f464824eaefb5ef
Here's the code snippet from wibar config.
-- Add widgets to the wibox
s.mywibox:setup {
layout = wibox.layout.align.horizontal,
expand = "none",
{ -- Left widgets
layout = wibox.layout.fixed.horizontal,
s.mytaglist,
{
widget = wibox.container.margin,
left = 10,
s.mylayoutbox,
},
{
widget = wibox.container.margin,
left = 10,
s.mypromptbox,
},
},
{ --Middle widgets
layout = wibox.layout.fixed.horizontal,
},
{ -- Right widgets
layout = wibox.layout.fixed.horizontal,
systray
{
widget = wibox.container.margin,
right = 10,
left = 10,
mytextclock
}
},
}
EDIT: I think I may have it. I'm using the place widget and setting the height of the desired widget. I was testing with volume widget instead of systray
and this is what I got.
https://preview.redd.it/tn8evegum4o71.png?width=266&format=png&auto=webp&s=720f64c41aa41831c4ea5bcf1a8eb4f35a6d463c
local placed = wibox.widget {
{
forced_height = 20,
widget = volume_status
},
valign = "center",
halign = "center",
widget = wibox.container.place
}
I'm not crazy about setting hard values for the forced_height
, but it's what is for now. I will work on systray
in a bit and post back with how it goes.
When app categories bar is vertical, the first app category is put near the top of the screen and it's quite difficult to reach it with just one hand. I would like to be able to specify an alignment (ie. vertical bar on left side, icons from bottom).
Another feature I would like is to let me change category by swiping up and down (when the app bar is put on a vertical side of the screen) as you can by swiping left and right (when the bar is on the bottom).
Thanks!
I teach algebra 1, but have never received training on how teachers in k-8 teach math topics. Many of my students arrive with gaps (urban district in the US), so any alignment or strategies I can use that they may have been exposed to in earlier grades would be awesome. I'm currently up late making remedial assignments, and I'm not sure how to relate to previous classes.
I would appreciate input on any of the following subjects (or others based on your expertise, I certainly could have missed something) to help with algebra 1 for 14ish year olds. I teach in Texas, but welcome input from anywhere - I love to learn different systems for teaching:
Thank you for taking the time to read through. Any help on literally any strategy used by k-8 teachers would be fantastic. Those bullets are just the tip of the iceberg. The more I know, the better I can work.
Hi! So my M5 rangefinder s waaay of on the vertical axis but I can't adjust it because the adjustment screw is completely stripped!
I could probably use some pliers to twist it but I would have to remove the top plate and I'm too much of a novice to do that.
Have you guys got any other suggestions? The screw is in a reccesed hole so it's pretty hard to get to and I don't really want to strip it further.
Cheers!
Thought Iβd ask this on a flash-related subreddit.
Iβm translating The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt into Serbian and simultaneously trying to make the gameβs subtitles more readable. The gameβs subtitles are stored as .swfs.
Iβd like to adjust the direction from which new lines appear in subtitle text. In The Witcher 3, if there are 2+ lines in a subtitle outside of an engaged dialogue with another character, line 1 is positioned above line 2 and so on:
β β β β β β β β β β β β β β β β β 2: I know. You might bring meβ
1: You're running out of juice. β some more once you're done training.β
However, when inside a dialogue, it does the opposite and places line 2 below line 1 (a different .swf file is responsible for this):
1: See, I thought Ciri β β β β β β β β 2: It's uninstructive. Not to mention unreasonable.
could wait a little longer.β
For a subtitle, example 2 is less standard in the subtitling industry and can more easily conflict with UI elements in the game, so Iβd like to change it for my translation to be like in example 1.
Might anyone know what parameter is responsible for the vertical text alignment so I could make it everywhere like in the first example? Iβll link the two .swfs here (the one from the first example is in a slightly different format, .redswf):
