A list of puns related to "Paediatrics"

Hi guys!
I am an FY2 doctor and have been fortunate enough to get an interview for the paediatrics ST1 training programme. I've also been offered a Clinical Fellow job for next year at a great tertiary paediatrics centre that would also give me some time out to travel next year. I haven't really decided what to do yet but I'm trying to find out if I will be disadvantaged if I withdraw from the training application process and re-apply next year. Have emailed the paeds NRO but haven't heard anything back yet. Any experience of similar situations would be much appreciated. Thanks!
Hi, can someone suggest me the books which I should read for MRCPCH? Thanks
Hi guys, wondering if anyone has been shortlisted for paeds? I canβt find the dates we were supposed to have heard by and Iβm worried the shortlisting deadline has already passed.
Hi all,
I understand that this is not exactly the correct sub so remove if not ok.
My son has a rare immune related disorder called nephrotic syndrome. His condition was triggered by his 18 month shots (not covid). It took many years of steroids and immunosuppressants to get him into remission and he has been good for 2.5 years. Because he is in non medicated remission he would be expected to handle covid like a child that is healthy. This is not scientific by any means but a portion of nephrotics are relapsing due to their covid shots. The covid shot was also under investigation to have caused nephrotic syndrome as a side effect in Europe.
Anyway he is also a competitive athlete and he is turning 12 soon. Participation in sports in my province for 12 and up (and soon probably 5 and up) is only permitted for individuals who are vaccinated. Also only vaccinated can travel here. His nephrologists will not give us an exemption as to them the benefits outweigh the risks. To me it does not particularly if he relapses he would need to go on meds that will suppress his immune system. I am not sure where to go from here as I donβt want him to lose out on stuff but I am also not risking his health. The vax pass here will be QR code if that matters. Any ideas?
Hi everyone
Iβm just panicking a little bit
Iβm a FTM and my son is 9 weeks old, yesterday as I was nursing him I spilled some coffee which went all down my side and his foot. I of course panicked, threw off his baby grow and shoved him under a cool tap. Baby was screaming and I was in bits so I gave baby to my partner to sort whilst I called 111.
111 advised me to take him to A&E, we were quick in and luckily they couldnβt even find a patch or red skin to have a look at so we were very lucky there was no injuries.
I think the shock of me pulling him off the boob and throwing under a cold tap upset him more than the coffee, he didnβt end up having any change of personality was cooing and smiling at me in the hospital and has been his normal self since.
Because of the type of injury and his age they did warn me Iβd have a call from paediatric liason officer and today Iβve had a call from childrens services clarifying my address.
Iβm just panicking a bit now that Iβm going to have social services around, has anyone else been in a similiar situation and can tell me what to expect? I understand thereβs certain things they have to safeguard against but I already felt like the worst mum in the world and I think Iβm just worrying myself to death
Hello Iβm looking for a paediatric physio who specialises in rehabilitating kids who have suffered birth related injuries. Also any contact of an early interventionist and child psychologist who can do an assessment for my boy would be a lot of help.
I live in HSR and anything close by would be great.
A little context: My boy was born in 2018 with Hypoxic Ischemic Encephalopathy Stage 3. This stripped him of the ability to suck or swallow or any pain sensation. Cerebral Palsy was the best case outcome. However he has regained most of his abilities. He can walk, talk, eat, run, can recite the english alphabets forward and reverse. He is very social and loves animals. He though doesnβt put his feet properly and canβt squat. Due to the pandemic he was struck at home and we now wanted to resume his therapy
Any pointers would be highly appreciated!!
Hi, basically the heading. Could you please help me out? Thank you!
Hello all, just moved onto GP for FY2. Realised I've made a strong effort at forgetting paediatric medicine in this time. I was wondering if had any helpful guides they would recommend? Cheers
Can someone recommend a good book/website/video reference that explains a nice way to approach rashes in children (narrow the differential, which investigations are the best to determine the cause,...)
Wondering if I should do the childrenβs nursing course at university or just regular nursing and get into paediatric later in my career? Maybe just having a regular RN qualification could provide me with more opportunities such as bedside, aesthetics and other courses. Not sure, as I am interested in paediatric nursing but regular nursing seems more practical.
My son is 2 years old and is having stomach problems for 6 months now. The list of foods he canβt eat is growing everyday. So far our current paediatrician is clueless, he keeps on telling us to wait and monitor but we feel my son should be tested for something. I am looking for recommendations for a GI specialist who works with children. We are in Burlington but anywhere in GTA works. Thanks in advance.
I know I'm counting my eggs before hatching, but I just want to plan ahead. Which is the best Deanery for Paediatrics training? I don't mind hectic hospitals provided they have a good academic programme.
Hello folks. Lets talk about Paediatrics (those who applied this season are really appreciated to share their experience):
Looking forward to a healthy discussion, especially from people who applied for Paeds this season.
If anyone is as out of the loop as I am with the news and relies on Reddit to find stuff out, you can now book paediatric Pfizer appointments online. I was able to book my 11 year old in yesterday, and will be getting him done at the same time I go in for my booster.
