Hey y’all! Happy New Year! I am wondering if anyone can recommend any places where I could throw my crappie/bass rod in the Winter Springs/Oviedo area? I generally head to Brevard County but am looking for somewhere closer for quick afternoon/evening outings.
I don’t have a boat and I’m not interested in trespassing but any recommendations you can provide will be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance.
I live in Oviedo (pronounced Oh-vee-doe) in Florida, so imagine the chills I got when Bob mentioned where I live. A small town on the outskirts of Orlando, what are the chances. That freaked me out more than anything.

Hello! I’m a 24 year old guy who’s just finished university and am in Oviedo for either one or two months. I came here to try and improve my Spanish, but it was all done very unorganised and I don’t have much of a plan (I also don’t know anyone here). Would anyone be up for showing me round Oviedo? I know it can be dangerous meeting people online so could just meet in public areas during the day time if that makes people feel comfortable! So my husband (30m) and I (38f) are currently living in Oviedo, in an apartment since end of July 2021. We are looking to buy a house within the next two years, but are not sure where yet.
What are some things specific to Oviedo that you like? Any tips and tricks? We don't get out much.
Any natural attractions in the area?
I picked it because I loved the idea of free roaming chickens, but I have yet to see one. WHAT HAPPENED TO THE CHICKENS?😦
