Regardless of whether you support the CCP or not, it is the paramount of stupidity for overseas Chinese living in the diaspora to push for China's failure. By doing so, as a Chinese person, you are shooting yourself in the foot, since the rise of China also means you will indirectly benefit from it. (just like Korean people indirectly benefit from Kpop in their perception by others around the world)
It rather irks me to see some of my fellow Malaysian Chinese as well as ethnic Chinese in Hong Kong considering themselves to be better, more sophisticated and more worldly than Mainland Chinese only because we were graced with the cloak of Western colonialism. Genetically, there is no difference between our ancestors and their ancestors. The only difference is that some of us whose ancestors shifted to SEA and the West, or who were under British rule, have been mentally colonised. For all the bad that Mao Zedong did, the Chinese Government of today has successfully avoided becoming a tributary state to the West, and the Chinese people in China have successfully avoided becoming mentally colonised and developing an inferiority complex to Westerners, unlike people in Hong Kong and the Anglophiles in the Malayan Peninsula who wish they were English Gentlemen, and not Ching Chong Chinaman. They are proud of their Chinese identity, and they have no shame in being Chinese.
While you whitewashed Chans and Lus in Hong Kong praise and laud and kowtow to the White Man and beg him to come back and rule over you while insisting that you are not Chinese but a 'Hong Konger', may I remind you that THE REASON WHY THE WHITE MAN IS CIVILISED TO YOU TODAY IS BECAUSE OF THE RISE OF MAINLAND CHINA?

I heard that Chinese international students get spied on, and if you have family in China, they might be used for leverage. The meeting means that NIO seems to be not far from entering the European market.
