A list of puns related to "Onshore"
No default tomorrow. US Futures shot up after this news. Chinese markets were closed on Monday and Tuesday and everybody was expecting Evergrande to default tomorrow.
SHANGHAI, Sept 22 (Reuters) - China Evergrande Group's main unit Hengda Real Estate Group Co Ltd said on Wednesday that it would make a bond interest payment on Sept. 23.
In a statement, Hengda said it would make the coupon payment on its Shenzhen-traded 5.8% September 2025 bond.

Chinese property giant Evergrande is once again begging for leeway on repayments, this time asking for 6 months grace on a $156.9mn bond as it struggles to meet over $300bn of total liabilities.
"A postponement is expected," said a holder of the bonds in question on condition of anonymity. "Given the company is under pressure to prioritize wages ... and apartments."
The only reasoning Evergrande itself gave for the requested delay was the βcurrent operational statusβ of Hengda, its flagship property arm that issued the bonds. Shares in the company dropped 2.5% on Tuesday.

A 2018 African Development Bank study found that Somalia has the highest potential of any African nation for onshore wind power β if it can harness it.
Samatar Mohamed, an economics lecturer at Mogadishu University, agrees. He thinks the country just hasnβt been able to unleash its full potential.
He says if Somalia is able to take advantage of the its abundant renewable energy potential, the price of a kilowatt-hour would not be as expensive as it is. The utility rate would be cheap, and everyone would be able to afford electricity, he added.
Somalia lacks a national power grid and relies on imported fuel, wood and charcoal to address its energy needs. But energy experts say with the longest coastline in mainland Africa & an average of 10 hours of sunshine per day, Somalia has great potential for onshore wind & solar power.
Somaliaβs private power companies rely on imported diesel to meet demand, making Mogadishu power cost more than 3x the price of the global average.
Mohamed Dubo, the director of the Somalia Investment Promotion Office, the office tasked with efforts to implement renewable energy, says Somalia is endowed with vast natural resources.
Among the renewable energy sources are wind and solar energy. Dubo says Somaliaβs wind speeds are quite high, even the fastest in the world, and these can generate substantial amounts of electricity. Similarly, he says, the country has extended periods of sunshine, and, therefore, the potential to even sell power to its neighbors.
I'm rendering my last 30 days and my resignation haven't been acknowledged yet by my manager.
Yesterday, after our team meeting, I mentioned it to the team na last month ko na with them. Of course I did that kasi concern ako sa workload and transition. For me, wala akong maling nakita don.
Then kaninang 8AM, I received an email from our manager kung sino ba raw nagsabi sa client? And she seemed mad!! All day di ako kinausap.
Mali ba yung ginawa ko? Did I violate some rules or regulations about that? Makakaalis ba ako?! Hahahaha.

The extensive exploration undertaken by Mobil in the 90's made evident the significant size and technical merits of the Cabora Bassa project. (9.25 TCF + 294 million barrels of conventional gas / condensate)
Company Directors:
IVZ Country Manager (Brent Barber) done the Seismic on this land back in the day for Exxxon Mobil and kept his eyes on it until now.
Dr Stuart Lake (IVZ Non-Executive Chairman) has a stirling reputation in the industry and has made over 300 oil and gas discoveries in 11 countries with a track record of 90% success rate.

IVZ already released a prospective resource report in 2019. The report can be seen here

Total prospective resource of 9.25 TCF + 294 million barrels of conventional gas / condensate

So there is more than 1 play here with potential at both. This study was determined by Getech Group, over a 12 month study of Cabora Bassa Project. (if even a fraction is found at either its a big success).

... keep reading on reddit β‘I have been working at one of the Big 4's "global" office (offshore back office, based in India) for a year now. This is my first job, and I have an MBA in finance from a mediocre business school.
Although I have a fancy title, my job is essentially copying and pasting stuff into PowerPoint and Excel sheets (what they call "company profiles" / "pitch decks" and "trading & transaction comps").
My current plan is to immigrate to Canada (by 2023), start all over again, but this time in Information Technology. I'll start as a Helpdesk (Tech Support Professional), and hopefully in the next 5 years, I'll gain enough knowledge and skills to become a cybersecurity analyst.
Reasons for this career switch:
I'm not sure what sort of jobs will I get in Canada, with such kind of skills. I don't think such copy-paste jobs exist in Canada. I think they are all outsourced.
Even if I become super proficient in financial modeling and VBA, it will be a lot quicker and easier to land a tech job (an entry-level Tech Support job), as compared to an entry-level job in finance. Moreover, entry-level jobs in finance are usually sales jobs at banks and insurance companies.
Also, I'd be short of funds as a new immigrant. I won't be in a condition to wait for several months to land a finance job.
Demand for IT professionals >> Demand for finance professionals.
But last night, I had a thought. I know that quite a few folks working at such "global" offices (offshore back offices) are eventually sent to the onshore offices (US, Canada, UK, etc.). I have no clue what exactly do they do there with such kind of skills.
Can you please tell me:
What exactly do these folks do at the onshore (US, Canada, UK) offices, with such kind of skills?
Do such copy-paste jobs exist in North America, UK, and Western Europe? Am I missing out on something if I start all over again in Tech?
If yes, what are these positions/roles called? Are there any growth opportunities in such jobs?
Any suggestions are welcome and appreciated. Thanks!
