Meaning of Name: "Eight-fold"

The Ogdoad were a group of eight deities that existed before the creation of the world. They were arranged in four female-male pairs, the goddesses being associated with cobras and the gods being associated with frogs. They were Naunet and Nun (primordial waters), Amaunet and Amun (air), Kauket and Kek (darkness), and Hehet and Heh (eternity.)

Between and from themselves, the Ogdoad created a mound that rose from the primeval waters, and on this they formed an egg from which Ra, the sun god, emerged. Following creation, the Ogdoad ruled the earth during a Golden Age. Later they retreated to the Duat where they were responsible for the flow of the Nile and the rising of the sun each day.

Ok, this is the feeling that I get when I try to understand the Ogdoad. I feel like i read modern science describing universe: infinite space filled with dark energy and dark matter and hidden forces ( well plus normal matter). 4 pairs of Ogdoad describe: Infinity / Darkness / Sacred / Inert

What do you think about Hermopolitan Ogdoad?

After starting my gnostic journey under Basilidean-influence, I was introduced to the Seven Sermons written by Jung under the pseudonym of Basilides, and soon after his deep world of marrying psychology with religion. Since then I've begun forming a Jungian-centric theology and wanted to share my interpretation of a key part of our gnostic cosmology.

At the center sits the Godhead in its enviable wholeness, representing a full and complete consciousness(the Self) that has accept all parts of it's being and actions.

Emanated from the The Wholeness/Whole Conscious is the Ogdoad and the Amoral Abraxas. The Ogdoad consists of 8 Chief Aeons, each representing a key element of basic consciousness. It's these 8 elements of the conscious mind that are the most integral in the mind's journey to achieve enlightenment (be it Gnosis or Individuation)

Logos- The Word, this Aeon represents the importance of communication and being able to articulate your thoughts to other beings so as to express consciousness and awareness

Nous- Thought/Insight, this Aeon represents the mind needed to process thoughts, store memory and detail, and anchor the conscious to the brain for its journey through the physical world

Anthropos- Shape, this Aeon represents objects, forms, shapes, any vessel of psychic energies in the physical world that we can turn into Symbols and Images

Aletheia- Truth and Order, this Aeon represents the natural and important occurrence of order in nature and how it leads to happiness and enlightenment, how truth is the burning fuel for a conscious/divine spark on its way journey to freedom and wholeness

Dynamis- Instinct/Pleasure, this Aeon represents the basic drive required by a conscious being to keep itself pleased and alive so as to continue its path to enlightenment

Ennoea- Anima/Animus, this Aeon represents the existence of the dilemma of opposites in the world and the problem the Either-Or philosophy proposes in our minds. Ennoea can only represent one side of an opposing pair (conflicting dualism)

Zoe- Life/Love, this Aeon is a representation of a conscious being's complementary nature and drive to be with others as well as to inspire and create life within their community to share in knowledge and enlightenment

Phronesis- Morality/Reason, this Aeon represents the ability of conscious beings to attach morality to actions, judge them in conjunction with their cultures/views/etc, and act accordingly

Abraxas- Soul/Ego,the manifestation of the

Hello, I decided to make some quick world boss guides and I'm starting with Ogdoad, which is probably the easiest.

To graduate, you need to hit 7,500,000 points.

Formation

Only 2 5* were used, Celia and Kaoli, both +0.

Celia +0 should be enough
Ceres +12 should be enough
Bellasier +8 (Rage runes)
Alicia +9 or +14
Serendia + 15 (can use Ebony or Isabel instead)
Ayan +5 at least, +14 recommended

Notes

Put your best rage runes on Bellasier and Kaoli, they should get over 7,5M even if your other units don't have high skill level.

Metaphysics

Important strand of the story and the basis of all of the "mythologic" happenings of the universe. These are loosely based on the primordial Greek gods:

  • The realm and power of God (supreme being), everything good comes from here miracles & smiting.
  • Opposite of Nyx
• Uranus: The Heavens
  • The power of "the gods" where they (and some humans/aliens) draw their strength
  • Opposite of Tartarus
• Gaia / Ourea: The Material
  • The source of all that is "mundane" everything contained in know (or well established theoretical) physics - matter, energy etc.
• Pontus: The ocean / Sea
  • A tranquil and seemingly empty realm filled with hudor (Ancient Greek for water)

• Tartarus:
  • The realm of nature spirits, (some) mortals and minor deities, ghosts, chthonic heroes, spirit guides, forces of nature and demons.
  • Opposite of Uranus
• Nyx & Erebus: The Night / Darkness
  • Source of great power for the "witches", seen as sacrilegious to the followers of God (supreme being) but at the same time very similar to Aether.
  • Opposite of Aether
• Chaos: The Abyss / Void
  • The unknown realm, seemingly evil and a source of great unease for everyone. Some sort of monsters will emerged from here.

First; who is this guide for?

It's for anyone who want to graduate Ogdoad (deal 7.5m damage) or improve their damage and for whatever reason never heard of soistheman.com

To start:

There's plenty of "how to graduate Ogdoad" (or any boss for that matter) posts but they never quite hit the mark and they could have always done max damage much sooner if they had changed some minor details,

Which I assume is present in this guide as well,

But hopefully this guide will give you the tools to identify those details

Ogdoad is imo the easiest (hunt) boss to graduate and hopefully you can understand the other bosses better by understanding this one better

Ogdoad's Defences

So the thing about Ogdoad is he got 100% Agility and 75% Defence

Which reduces any damage dealt to him substantially

He is also immune to attack interference and stats weakening so we cant use mercs like Aie or Zarka to increase our damage

&nbsp;

His 100% agility will not only graze our attacks (35% less damage) but also reduce our debuffs to half duration which is really bad since we need to stack debuffs to do massive damage

&nbsp;

For example, Ridel+14 have a DoT "ADV Burn" that boost incoming damage by 35% that lasts 10 turns and can be applied to Ogdoad since he is not DoT immune

&nbsp;

With the use of Krull+0 (4 star warrior) and Joseph+0 (4 star defender) special skill that resets the duration of debuffs to max duration we can keep Ridel's 35% debuff up at all times

Allowing her to hit Ogdoad twice (and keep both debuffs) for a total of 70% incoming damage boost, if we don't reduce his agility he could lose this DoT and we could end up with only half as much incoming damage boost at the end

This is also why we try to avoid mages like Noel for this since they can only apply 1 debuff and that debuff needs to compete with 2x effect debuffs from warriors/defenders mages like +14 Alicia are ok since they give comparable incoming damage boost

Combating his agility

We will use Ayan+5 (reduce agi by 75%) and Maya+8 (reduce all stats by 30% -yes including agi)

other mercs to reduce agility are Elija and Celia who are more potent versions of Ayan and Maya but not budget friendly so we will ignore them, if you do have those simply r
