A list of puns related to "Novelisation"
I finished reading it yesterday and I have to say I think it's brilliant and beautiful. It's much more than just a written adaptation of the TV special. It adds quite a bit that we didn't get to see on screen and offers the kind of insights you can only get from a novel. It's really a love letter to the Doctor and the whole series. I'm not sure if he's interested but if Moffat ever wrote any more adaptations of his episodes I'd love to read them.
Anyway I was wondering what those of you've who've read it think?
I love TLJ. And it took me a while to get to that point. Iβm sure you guys have heard it all before, walked out the cinema loving it but impressionable young me saw all the bad press and people slandering it, and it made me think βmaybe this movie is bad.β
Unfortunately I was like that for a long time.
But after rewatching it for the first time since 2017 last year. My GOD it has quickly become my fav Star Wars film! Itβs themes and handling of characters is fantastic, the visuals, score, set design EVERYTHING that goes into the film is pure amazing. I found myself thinking βwhat the heck are all those haters on?!β And honestly I am bummed I didnβt give it a second chance sooner, and allowed myself to be swayed by other peoples negative opinions (Mauler, critical drinker etc who I now see are whiny children most of, if not all of the time)
So I did what any massive Star Wars fan does, I recently picked up the novelisations after my 10th rewatch of the sequel trilogy and TLJ. And lemme tell you thisβ¦
It is awesome.
It adds so many extra scenes, so much extra depth to the characters and places and themes itβs overwhelming, but in the best way! Lukeβs arc is fascinatingly portrayed in more detail, Finns βnot a heroβ personality shines through until he eventually learns to become one. And donβt even get me started on how much more I love Rose Tico, we get to see Paiges influence on her, what drives her and her own weaknesses and doubts. Rey and kylo are a fascinating pair as ever and as a whole being able to see inside characters heads allows for far greater storytelling!
If you canβt tell, I love the sequels and I love TLJ. And I highly recommend everyone pick up their novelisations as it just adds so much to the experience and these characters!
All in all Iβm not really sure what the point of this post is lol, Iβm just very happy Iβve found a place i can share my love for this trilogy and not get yelled at or harassed. Itβs wonderful πβ¨
I'm trying to rack my brain, there was a book I really enjoyed reading as a kid in the early 90s. The cover was a photo, apparently from either the movie or TV series (BBC novelisation).
I think it was set in either the 1800s or early 1900s, it's about some brothers (teenage) in the UK who for some reason lived out in the wild, but not so far from civilisation and their homes. They hunted, trapped rabbits for food among other things. They were able to spy on their peers and schoolmats, I remember the middle brother had puppy love for one of the school girls (first time I encountered the term 'puppy love').
The cover had the (three?) brothers dressed in furs from animals (rabbits) that they'd caught and skinned.
I'm really hoping someone knows what I'm talking about!
Iβm pretty sure all three movies in the trilogy had novelisations.
To those who have read them - how different are they from the movies? Are there any interesting details or changes which werenβt in the movies?
What's up everyone! I was just wondering whether any of you have any recommendations for good books set in the Star Wars universe. They can be novelisations, side stories, Star Wars Legends content set after Return of the Jedi, anything really. I've heard good things about the Revenge of the Sith novelisation so I guess that's a place to start.

This is the 9th and final Final Destination book I've digitised and the final Black Flame book from my collection to be digitised. Now every Friday the 13th, Jason X, A Nightmare on Elm Street and Final Destination book, published by Black Flame, is available digitally. Woohoo.
The next book I'm digitising is the Final Exam novelisation by Geoffrey Meyer
Another Star Wars slang to the notes.
The novelisation of Serenity is pretty faithful to the movie but does add things, expand things and move things around in order to make it fit the format of a novel.
A neat little detail I just noticed (and there are many more), is that it puts the bow and arrows back in.
Info: in the black room siege scene where the Reavers are attacking the crew, Inara was originally outfitted with a bow and arrow. You can actually still see it in some shots. In fact the whole reason that the line about Inara leaving a trunk of possessions in her shuttle was included was to give an explanation for where her bow and arrow came from.
However apparently audiences didn't like the bow and arrows so they cgi'd a sci-fi bolt thrower over it.
The novelisation however gives Inara her bow and arrows back. Which I think is fab.
If a new cut of the film could be released (we're only a few years away from the 20th anniversary) they should cut back in the original bow and arrow footage.
Hi, Iβve just started getting into the EU, and have started reading the prequel novelisations and noticed some things are slightly different/deeper explored than the films. Are these novelisations canon or legends?
Which books are the best for this? Thank you
Hi everyone. This is my first post on this subreddit, so I'd like to introduce myself. I'm called Marco, I'm 16 years old and I'm from Italy.
I'm writing this because I recently had an idea, and I would like to tell it to you so that you can tell me your opinions about it. I am planning to write a fan fiction novelisation of "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them" and "Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald".
We all know that both movies had non-sense stuff and weft holes (particularly the 2nd movie). They also had, in my opinion, some cringy dialogue that I don't think would perfectly fit the characters. So, what I want to do, is try to make a novel with characters' thoughts, deleted scenes, little edited dialogue, and maybe new deleted scenes created just by me to justify some things that I don't think would really much make sense. I would also like to get deeper in the details like spells, potions, emotions, French Ministry of Magic, and others.
What do you guys think about it? Would anyone be that kind to help me out a little? Thanks for your attention, much appreciated.
Hey everyone,
Please delete if this isnβt appropriate material for the sub but I have an idea of writing up the first season of Street Sharks as a novella. It would be in prose and would aim at gearing the show in a more grounded way, whilst at the same time keeping as true to the show as possible. However, before I embark on such a task, I thought Iβd see if anyone would actually be interested in reading it. Please let me know your thoughts, even if itβs not something youβd enjoy looking at.
Thanks everyone! Stay jawsome!
I've thought about the fact that not all Doctor Who novels, and especially novelisations, are created equal. Some were quick and cheap pocket paperbacks meant to summarise lost stories, others were shockingly elaborate fleshed out remakes of the televised continuity that inspired them.
So I've selected 4 monsters of Doctor Who lore to ask you the community at large, if they were crazy enough to ask you to write a more modern novel featuring one of these beasts, how would you describe them to a reader?
...is kind of great, honestly.
It has Jack's internal monologue being way, way, way more like Jack. He's crushed by this terrible luck he's been having, and he even talks more like Jack at times than he does in the film. His fight with Salazar at the end is great - he's braver, cockier, keeps getting up even though he knows he's wounded. And then, he actively tricks Salazar into attacking him, throws Henry this fantastic one-liner... basically, it's the Jack of old, improvising, outmaneuvering, being awesome. And then, after the trident shatters, we get this line:
"All curses are broken... which means my luck has returned!" Jack's happy shout quickly turned to a groan as he watched the walls of water, kept at bay by the curse, begin to buckle with it's absence. Perhaps his luck hadn't completely returned.
Just fantastic, having the story acknowledge that a curse of some kind was the reason Jack's luck had bottomed out. Then, after Barbossa falls, there's this wonderful passage:
As the rest of the Pearl's crew joined him, Jack removed his hat and held it to his heart. "A Pirate's Life, Hector", he said softly. It was hard to imagine life at sea without his old friend. But as Jack turned to look at Carina, he couldn't help but smile. The old man had left a legacy. Something only a rare pirate did.
Also... now, his line about the kiss being disgusting is now about Henry and Carina, NOT Will and Liz.
Long story short: THIS IS MY CANONICAL FIFTH FILM. I'm never watching the film again - if I need the story, I'll re-read this.
For some reason I have a really fierce urge to read a novelised version of P5, but I'm not sure how to find a good one, so I figured I could ask here
I need one with no Royal spoilers, and what I mean by 'a good one' is that it should be more than just a wordy description of the game's story. It should go deeper into the protag's thoughts and feelings, or describe things that the game glossed over, or something, you get the idea
So if anyone knows any good ones I'd love some recs :D thank you
Here's a two for one. Final Destination 1 is a new digitisation from my own collection, pic, and Final Destination 3 is a re-edit of a version that's been floating around the internet for a while-I changed how the book is indented and fixed some problems with how the chapters were split.
I don't have access to Final Destination 2, so for the time being these are the only digitisations of the novelisations that I can make.
Anyway, these are 2 of many rare out of print horror movie tie ins I've digitised and up next is the first original Final Destination book; Dead Reckoning and then on to the other 4.
I have also just gotten a copy of Jason X: To the Third Power and I'll sweep back and digitise that once I've finished reading it for myself.
Side note: I'm no longer going to digitise my 4 Predator books, someone beat me to it-they're all up on ZLibrary
So I was lucky enough to track down paperback copies of the tie-in novels for MGS1 and 2 some years ago. Assuming it doesn't violate the rules of the subreddit, or reddit in general (which it may well do), would anyone be interested in the chapters being posted here on a regular basis?
Again, assuming this is in any way, shape or form permitted. If not, then obviously the post will be taken down ASAP.
Was thinking recently about how much more developed the Battlefront 2 Campaign would be if it was novelised in the same vein as The Force Unleashed 1+2, or even aa a comic adaption. >! Iden and Delβs defection to the New Republic !<could certainly be expanded on and extra content could be included to tie with newer material from the same time
The Squadrons campaign would similarly benefit imo. Fallen Order would be a massive undertaking to novelise but I think it would interesting to see what it would be like. I think it would be a cool range of books/comics and allow those who canβt actually play the games to experience the stories.

Thanks to u/Halon5 for scanning their copy of this book
If you haven't seen my posts on the Friday the 13th subreddit I've been digitising my collection of out of print horror novels, pic, I've done 6 of them so far and 3 more that other people have scanned for me.
Next up will be New Nightmare, and then I'll be doing the Nightmare Black Flame novels. The person that scanned this book also has has parts 4-5, and I'll digitise that whenever they send over the scan of it
Hey guys, I've actually posted some stuff about this a couple times on the main FF7 subreddit but I'm gonna post it here because everyone here has probably played Crisis Core so it would be better for this subreddit. Anyways. So I've written a Crisis Core Novelisation (finished, 255 A4 pages long) and I want everything to be the best it can be before I send it off to Square (yes I'm sending it to Square I realise that they probably won't reply so I have low expectations lol). So I was wondering if there was any moment (not a side quest tho obv) from Crisis Core that you would want to see to get you guyses opinions on whether I have done it justice or not. It can be the Nibelheim Incident, The ending, absolutely anything. I just want some feedback rrly and if you feel I should add something or I'm missing something you can tell me and I can try and add it in. So yeah please feel free to comment a scene from CC and I can upload it next post. Thanks in advance!
Exactly what I've said above. We've had two good batches so far, and I'd love to know what your thoughts/wishes are about future sets. Personally I'd love to see:
Those are just my thoughts - what are yours?
One compliant i see is that it is incredibly strange in tone and is too jovial.
I disagree that it has such a tone. When anakin makes those quips, i picture him whispering, stone faced and cold. His malice is not overt like an axe murderer, but is instead like magnetoβs when he kills shaw in xmen first class.
So itβs pretty similar to the scene in the movie, except more sinister
Someone was selling pdf versions of these books on etsy, so I bit the $30 bullet and bought them and converted them to epub files so everyone can read them.
There were errors in the PDF files and I don't own physical copies of these books so I couldn't fix all of them, but I fixed the ones I saw.
Part 3, also by Simon Hawke, has been floating around the internet for a while too, and can be found here. Weird fact: there's two novelisations of Friday the 13th Part 3 (Part 3 and Part 3 3-D), I have no idea why
Iβd love to read all the novelisations of the films but Iβm not sure if theyβre canon or not. Would also be able to tell me if there are multiple versions of each book and if so which are best? Tia
I swear I remember seeing a fanfiction with like 10+ follow up books noveling the mass effect trilogy but I can't remember it's name. I'm almost certain it was on fanfiction.net but I can't remember it's name

thanks to u/Halon5 for scanning their copy of this book! Never would have been able to make this one without their help.
This book features the original ending to the movie that was never shot, if you don't know what that ending is I won't spoil it.
