A list of puns related to "Nier"
Obviously vastly different styles of games, but I'm wondering what would be a better purchase seeing as they both on sale right now with the Steam Summer Sale. Cyberpunk is 33% while Nier is 25% so wondering if that makes a big difference. I have played both the Witcher 3 and Nier Automata and loved them both.
I'm not a software developer, but I'm pretty sure it does not take two months to port bugfixes on the same platform. Not sure how big of a priority the update is to Square Enix. Or have they changed strategy and hope that gamers have forgot that promise?

For those who don't know what I'm talking about: Nier Automata was released to Xbox Gamepass on March 17. Gamepass version of game had major bugfixes and changes that Steam version does not have.
Steam version of Nier Automata has major bugs since launch in 2017 that have not still been fixed. There are some community mods (FAR) that fix some of the major issues.
They both run on PC, so it's likely that Square Enix just doesn't care to port this changes to Steam version. They already made their money, why update the game? Originally they had no plans to do so, but after backlash they announced that it is work in progress.
What are your opinions on this?
edit: typos. Also Platinum Games is actually the developer, SE is the publisher. Not sure how busy Platinum Games are.

>Regardless of the protagonist, NieR is a remarkable piece of art, and this remaster touches up the issues people had with the original without compromising what made it such an impactful work. Itβs going to be interesting to see if people give it the look that it deserves this time around, because this really is the greatest game of all time, and has always deserved more than βcultβ status.

>Nier: Replicant ver.1.22474487139β¦ is a beautiful experience and exactly how you should play this amazing game. Upon finishing, itβs easy to say that it is unequivocally one of the best games I have ever played. This story emotionally moves players with the help of its character-writing, intense action, and somber tone, making it easy to immerse yourself in their world.

EDIT: unnecessary section removed. My apologies to those who found offense in it. It was not my intention. Following sections suffered an edit as well.
EDIT2: I saw donguri990 gameplay of this game, therefore my review shall be edited. Again, my apologies to Nier fans who were put off by my criticisms of the combat, although I believe it can be excused for the reasons I've included in said edit.
TL;DR: despite being pretty damn good already, this game could have been a 10/10 if said gameplay didn't feel repetitive (emphasis on "feel", as every game is repetitive since there is a gameplay loop involved so saying a game is repetitive is sort of pointing out the obvious) and had more fleshed out sidequests.
After letting the hype finally go away as I've held way too high expectations for it (I've had a long time desire for this game after playing the prologue at a friend's house), I could finally appreciate this game for what it actually was. It certainly isn't a Devil May Cry or Bayonetta game as I wrongfully expected, at least not in its traditional sense: its 3D beat 'em up/spectacle fighter mechanics look flashy and feel cool to pull off. Problem is, it walks this thin line of "complex" and "basic" gameplay on its lowest level: it's very easy to think all the game has to offer are light and heavy combos and that's it. It works, enemies don't last enough anyway and when they do you won't necessarily hit them hard enough to initiate a combo. But if you manage to hit the right balance between your damage output and the stagger on enemis, there's a lot of room for some crazy, wacky, cuh-razey kind of combos by combining launchers in mid-air, as well as Pod abilities to keep them airborne long enough for you to keep on hitting them. I suppose raising the difficulty to Hard should be enough, but I won't say for sure until I've tried it again. Anyways, just watch donguri990 and that should be enough, dude's an absolute madlad.
It ain't no Ikaruga either but I didn't complain about Sly Cooper 2 and 3's hacking sections, so no way am I gonna complain about the ones here since they have a fair share of variation too. I'd compare it to the Batman Arkham games: gameplay-wise they're this sort of jack of all trades, master of none, providing this neat little package of different genres that is quite accessible and fun to play, although depth is sacrificed. The difference is in focus obviously: i

6 Months ago it was rumored due to listings:
Through datamining it's possible to dig out references to NX (switch codename) graphics preset files, giving credence to original rumor:
E2o9dHBWEAEKUCb (1238Γ755) (twimg.com)
As to any ETA or whether the plan is still on the table - i've no idea but at the very least it got far enough to be ran on actual Switch with its own graphics preset.
EDIT:
It's very likely that at the point of shipping the current version of the game, switch support either was canned or far from finalized as there are no mentions of the platform in the string dump whatsoever.PC executable mentions licensing strings for all the platforms the game currently shipped on but unlike internal config, doesn't mention Switch at all:
>LICENSE_COMMON
>
>LICENSE_ORBIS
>
>LICENSE_STEAM_DURANGO
Curiously enough PC license is bundled into same option as Xbone whilst mentioning Steam specifically, if it were otherwise i'd suspect a MS Store version but this is just confusing lol (unless it's some classic japanese equalization of PC = Steam).
Additional context is that the file which contains those references, doesn't seem to be used by the game anymore - normally if a referenced file is missing (deleted or renamed) the game will crash on loading, however deleting this one seems to have no impact on it whatsoever so probably bits of engine were redesigned at later stage and this file was never removed, thus it reflects state of the game at certain point in development which may not be even indicative of launch version.
Nier Automata is simply a masterpiece. Every time I hear βFortress of Liesβ I get this weird feeling inside of me I canβt describe it but itβs such a powerful and mysterious as well as unpredictable energy that always gives me goosebumps and makes me realize what a masterpiece this game is. I could never describe how I feel but the overall atmosphere of Nier Automata is so incredibly mysterious and beautiful at the same time when you play through it. I would love to know your opinion about it, donβt hold back and write me half a book as a comment how you felt about Nier Automata and how you feel about what this game made you feel and how it changed your way of thinking about certain things.
