Goats should be β€œmilkable”

Goats should be able to be milked. Pretty simple. Or have their own milk called goat milk which could have its own effects. I haven’t really fleshed this idea out much but it could be interesting?

Making prisoners milkable?

So I started playing Rimworld recently coming over from Dwarf Fortress, and in Dwarf Fortress making prisoners milkable was simple; you just had to add the (milkable) tag to elves and goblins and other creatures that needed it. This is very important for my purposes.

However, this seems to be more complicated in Rimworld because as far as I can tell only creatures that are tamed as animals can be milked, meaning I would have to create a way to get human prisoners to become considered as animals which is frankly beyond my skills as a modder. Thankfully through boomalopes both male and female pawns could be made milkable.

Has anyone already created a mod like this? And if not what are your thoughts on how it could be done?

Thank you.

Brown mooshrooms that are hit with a wither skull should be milkable for suspicious stew

This is a quality-of-life feature that simply makes sense.

  • If a mob dies to a wither, it will drop a wither rose.
  • If a brown mooshroom is fed a wither rose, it will produce suspicious stew with the Wither effect when it is next milked.

Therefore, if a brown mooshroom is attacked by a wither, it should get the wither rose as its milk effect.

Make ghasts milkable.

Milking a ghast would would you a bucket of ghast milk, which when drank, gives nausea and fire resistance. 8 ghast milk buckets and a ghast tear makes a block of depression. This block turns all obsidian in a 500 block radius into crying obsidian.

I want milkable carnivores!

Greetings

It is spring in the Boreal Forest. Cropp is growing, colonists are harvesting and happy. My livestock - who is acclimated to the living conditions of the North - is grazing and well fed and free to roam the plains.

It is autumn in the Boreal Forest. Cropp has been harvested and the storageroom - I even thought of animals (and prisoners) and made loads of kibble - is full to the roof. My livestock - who is acclimated to the living conditions in the North and do not migrate as much and are found as year-long locals in the North are grazing the last hay and bushes before the snow arrives, whilst roaming the plains freely.

It is winter in the Boreal Forest. Fields of cropp are covered in thick layer of snow and my colonists are happy, fed and building snowmen near our settlement - and doing all the other works that were not a priority during the plant-period. My livestock - who is acclimated to the living conditions in the North - is desperately looking for food, wandering aimlessly around the plains and many times drops exhausted from the starvation. My kibble vaults are drained empty, and I think - is it worth it all? Why not make them into coats and meat? Only my loyal housecat is able to - whilst being completely incompetent and not acclimated at all - fend for itselt and catch some hares and rats.

Why is it so, that my herd of muffalo's - who are, I repeat, acclimated and accustomed and adapted to the living conditions of the Boreal Forest and the cold North - are unable to graze during the winter - like any other non-migrating - animal is in the real world, specially if we take into consideration that they are non-migrating. But my house cat is able to happily skip and jump in the snow and kill hares whilst having lost its killer instinct during the thousands of years long genetic manipulation and adaptation to be the house cat?

Why can't I milk my cat instead, as it seems that it requires much less drama and work than muffalos, even if the nipples are so tiny and they produce much less milk.

PS: and I am not talking about cows, who understandably are not able to fend for themselves during the harsh winter of the North. I am talking about Muffalos.

PPS: please make me proud and tell me that there is a A, mod which lets you milk certain carnivores or B, makes the animals more realistic and more able to survive, or C that Tynan is adding those "ideas" in the next patch.

All the best

DAD JOKES ARE NOT DIRTY.

Go post NSFW jokes somewhere else. If I can't tell my kids this joke, then it is not a DAD JOKE.

If you feel it's appropriate to share NSFW jokes with your kids, that's on you. But a real, true dad joke should work for anyone's kid.

Mods... If you exist... Please, stop this madness. Rule #6 should simply not allow NSFW or (wtf) NSFL tags. Also, remember that MINORS browse this subreddit too? Why put that in rule #6, then allow NSFW???

Please consider changing rule #6. I love this sub, but the recent influx of NSFW tagged posts that get all the upvotes, just seem wrong when there are good solid DAD jokes being overlooked because of them.

Thank you,

A Dad.
