The First has two goals that have been confirmed: 1. To save his son Mikaela. 2. To save the world from a "looming catastrophe in the far future".

So at the present, the First has left Shinoa and Mahiru's hearts and is currently going towards the location of Yu and Mikaela.

The First ordered the demons to capture Mikaela's soul specifically. Furthermore the demons were trying to keep Yu away from Mikaela.

It is my theory that the goal of the First is to capture Mikaela to transfer the soul into the body that was shown in the Dark Ages of Greece. The body that was referred to as the "corpse of Mikaela".

I don't think the species of the corpse is a vampire because when a vampire dies they either turn into dust or transform into a demon. On top of that, the corpse had four wings on his back. So it is my theory that the species of the corpse is of an angel.

We've seen demons being used to suppress the influence of angels when inside the body of a human but we've never seen an angel and demon completely merge before. The First in the Dark Ages of Greece was turned into a vampire by somebody so he was not considered an "angel" back when he first created the vampires.

However, the body of Mikaela may be fully angel and if the soul is a demon what sort of being would that create?

It's possible that part of the First's goals is to create such a hybrid being. It would not only be bringing his son back to life but it's also the creation of something that hasn't been shown in the manga.

I remember in the Guren Light Novels it mentioned the world had ended once before the previous catastrophe from 8 years ago.

Kagami uses elements from Christianity for his manga and I can only think of one event from the Bible that happened that basically was a "catastrophe" caused by evilness of humanity which wiped out almost all of the population. The Flood.

The Flood was an event mentioned in the Bible, Quran, and Torah (the three biggest religions on planet earth). It wiped out most of humanity but the reason why is apparently a little weird.

So what I found out online was the following passage: The LORD saw how great man’s wickedness on the earth had become, and that every inclination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil all the time. The LORD was grieved that he had made man on the earth, and his heart was filled with pain. So the LORD said, ‘I will wipe mankind, whom I have created, from the face of the earth—men and animals, and creatures that move along the ground, and birds of the air—for I am grieved that I have made them’” (Genesis 6:5–7). God proceeded to flood the entire earth, killing everyone and everything other than Noah, his family, and the animals on the ark. All else perished, including the Nephilim (Genesis 6:11–22).

So this event made God realize the evilness of humanity and this was because the "daughters of man" and the "sons of God" mated created the Nephilim.

The Nephilim are like half angel/ half human hybrid beings. However, all of them were killed by God in the flood. Furthermore, their existence was considered an abomination and creating them was against the laws of Heaven.

Here's some information I found out about Angels. Angels did not have kids. It was forbidden in general for them to have children as their only purpose was to serve the Lord.

However, fallen angels (nicknamed demons) did have kids with mortal women which is the cause of the Flood. It would cleanse the Earth of sins and punish the fallen angels who defied God's law.

Let's look at Shikama Doji who apparently claims that Mikaela is his son. He described God as twisted so we can assume that he does not like God very much. Another thing is that Shikama Doji has meddled in the Seraph of the End which is taboo in the eyes of God. Then there's Mikaela himself who was killed by somebody powerful enough to turn Shikama Doji into a vampire.

We know that there's a strong connection because the Angels and the vampire curse because while Yu was in Seraph

When I’m talking about Mika before he died, or when he was still Mikaela, my mind is thinking about two very different person. And here’s why.

1. We, readers, know absolutely nothing about Mikaela and little to nothing about Mika.

— Mika has been shown to be smart and tricky, even a bit manipulative multiple times in the manga and I think it’s really interesting how no one is talking about it because I could talk about that for hours. Plus the fact that the only thing we know about lil Mika is that his parents pushed in out of a moving car and that’s how he ended up in the orphanage but is it even true? We’re not sure because then how is he linked to the first, and I was thinking about it recently but now I’m sure of it, we know nothing about him.

How did he met Saito in the first place? Who are his parents and why did they try to literally kill him?

We know him as a teen, sure, I agree but when we are aware of what happened to Yuichiro with his parents, and why it happened, Mika’s full backstory was never explained at all. But he’s some sort of reincarnation of Doji’s son, isn’t he? So.. why? Why do we know nothing about him?

We’re aware of how much he cares about Yuu and all but that’s it. And I was shocked that I never even thought about it before because it’s glaring obvious, it is the same for many characters. We know them as they are right now but we know nothing about them at all at the same time, if that makes sense.

Shinya, Yoichi, Kimizuki.. etc. We know they’re backstory and shit but how did they ended up being parts of the most powerful groups/having black demons? Again, we got their childhoods but who are they really as person because their existence itself was part of something even bigger that what we were expecting and that’s crazy.

BUT. Back to Mika 🕺

And 2. I explained how we know nothing about Mika but we know even less about Mikaela which is interesting cuz his death caused all of this.

Doji’s went crazy because he got ejected out of heaven or something and on top of that, he’s son got killed for whatever reasons apparently. He’s doing this all for his son to be alive again and no one is questioning who his son really is. Suspicious to me 🧍

I hope we get to finally see who Mikaela is because he is a big part of this war w/o knowing it.

Mikaela is a 25 year old British female. Her OF advertising is not clear as to content. Spoilers up to chapter 103. Chapter numbers in ().

Mika is a new demon, spawned from his greatest desire. However, all his desires, otherwise known as the “last of his humanity” (53), reside in the heart. This heart is the world that Mika is defending.

Because Mika was a young vampire and didn’t lose all his emotions, his world is huge. Kiseki-O says (98) “maintaining that world is going to require a boatload of human desires”. That sounds like the reason Mika is expected to be an extremely aggressive feeder. Perhaps this is why he’s not just a black demon but a rank 1.

The manga has a nice way of showing the newborn connection between Mika’s heart and his demon form. If you look at his character model, Mika wears a blue cloak that has a really long kinked tail. This tail is his umbilical cord. He’s being fed his own desires as if by a placenta. Now we have the volume cover as corroboration. You’ll see Mika sitting like a babe would in a womb. His umbilical cord is attached to the placenta below him, inside which has his greatest desire. His head is aimed at the way out, and Yuu is there to catch him. (Also, some of the lines and colour blocking around Mika kind of look like vessels to me, and then there’s the bright red. The way Mika and his desire are arranged fits some depictions of the wall that separates the two ventricles. He may be sitting in his heart!)

I believe that no matter who Mika ends up with, Yuu’s purpose this next arc is to ensure Mika is “born” safely. Yuu must help Mika regain his humanity.

The umbilical cord An umbilical cord sends enriched blood through the unborn’s heart and carries the waste products out. For Mika, the flow of desires aren’t enough. Mika in (95) is thirsty. In (98), he doesn’t recognize orphanage Yuu and Mika, but he does know he should protect them and that world. This lack of memory is a good measure for how little desire he gets. This goes along with what Raimeiki says: “We demons have hardly any memories of what we were before. That’s why we want greed and desires. (58)”

So what happens when Shikama’s crew “eats” Mika’s desires in order to “crush his heart”? Like any organ that doesn’t receive enough nourishment, the cloak will atrophy. After Asuramaru’s attack, that umbilical cord looks ratty (101-2).
