A list of puns related to "Metro Atlanta"
My parents live in a suburb of Atlanta and yesterday afternoon, my mom had a health scare. She called her PCP who was about to close and she told her to go to urgent care.
The urgent care MD saw her and called an ambulance to get her to the ER. The ambulance got there and spent 40 minutes trying to find a hospital that was not on diversion, to no avail. All ER wait times were 6 plus hours.
Ultimately, my mom was okay and they ended up prescribing her something and sending her home, but it terrified me.
Sheβs vaccinated, boosted, wears a mask, gets tested when sick, etc. I hate that so many of us are doing the right thing and yet still, we will suffer if we need care for something not covid related.
Iβm sure this is multifaceted and not just the unvaccinated causing this problem, but they are largely to blame, right?
Thank you guys for all you do. I cannot imagine how mentally, emotionally and physically draining it must be.
"...like so many of the more than 725 people so far arrested in the riot, Webler posted about his exploits on social media and defended his actions. According to court documents, a voice believed to be Webler can be heard in a selfie video taken inside the Capitol saying, βItβs my birthday, and itβs the best one ever.β
Webler allegedly posted the video to Facebook on Jan. 8. It was one of several posts authorities claim Webler posted documenting his participation in the riot.
According to a Justice Department affidavit in the case, the FBI tracked Weblerβs travel from Georgia to Washington, D.C., on Jan. 5 from gas station transactions made from his credit union account and traced Weblerβs foray through the Capitol using GPS data from his mobile phone subpoenaed from Google."
What are some good places you would recommend for delicious scones in the Atlanta and metro Atlanta areas?
I don't mind traveling around Atlanta and metro Atlanta to eat these :)
Looking for recommendations, a family member is having major surgery and needs some looking after in-home during recovery since no family members are nearby at that time and travel is tricky with covid. Anyone know of any good service providers in the metro Atlanta area? Would be for "checking in" at least once a day for a week or two, checking incision/changing bandages, making sure he is able to eat, get moving and maintain personal hygiene etc. So, anyone who's used such services, please do share your experience and if you have a recommendation!
You Won't Reach Herd-Immunity Without Mandates
At least five metro Atlanta school districts will begin with remote learning during the first week of the new year, as students prepare to return to school following the holiday break amid rising numbers of Covid-19 cases in the area.
Students inΒ Clayton County Public SchoolsΒ will return to school virtually on Wednesday, with "independent virtual learning at home" going through Jan. 7, according to a press release from the school system. Students and staff will return to face-to-face learning on Jan. 10.
On Tuesday, students attendingΒ Rockdale County Public SchoolsΒ will begin the new year in "a virtual/remote learning environment," according to a message from the superintendent posted on the district's website. Virtual learning continues through Jan. 7. In-person learning begins on Jan. 10, for students and teachers.
On Saturday: Atlanta Public Schools, as well as neighboring Fulton and DeKalb County Schools announced a return to virtual learning for their first week of classes as well.

One can only imagine how effective mandates could be to actually attain herd immunity....
Hello,
I'm trying to get a master's degree in Computer Science. I plan to apply for Fall 2022. I'm trying to stay outside of the Atlanta Metro area, due to cost of living. I do know about Athens (UGA) and Statesboro (GSU).
Do you guys know of any other places?
