Are the Maxell SVHS XR-S tapes any good?

I just wanted to buy some cheap SVHS tapes in order to tape an old series that I watched as a child and I saw someone selling 2 × Maxell XR-S 180s for a fiver (next cheapest tape is a TDK XP240 for £19.99) and Im wondering if they are worth getting or should I get the TDK tape?

A reminder to remove the PRAM battery from your Mac, or replace it with a new one every few years to prevent this from happening. I have an ancient Maxell CF2 floppy disk with no way to read it. Any advice??

My grandpa wrote a memoir in the 80s and (besides being in print form) it currently resides in a CF2 floppy disk. I can't find CF2 disk drives anywhere on the internet, which seems crazy. Even if I did find a drive though, I imagine I would need a lot of other hardware to convert it all the way to a modern format. Does anyone know a good way I can get the information off this disk? Thanks!

I have 28 sealed 74-minute discs from Memorex (5), Maxell (20) and Sony (3)

I just found a box of my MiniDisc stuff. My Sony MZ-R2 portable is long gone but I have 28 sealed 74-minute discs:

Sony (3)
Memorex (5)
Maxell (20)

I've got no time to get back into the format and I assume these aren't unique so I'm not delusional about their worth. The next $1.56M Super Mario 64 game cartridge, they are not...

Do people still buy them? Is there a "for sale" or whatever forum? I could post them on eBay but is there any interest here? My apologies if it's against the rules.

It won't hurt my feelings if you tell me to just donate them to Goodwill.

Also, I've got the cases for 23 pre-recorded discs but, oddly, none of the actual media. Is there a demand for these plastic jackets?

I‘ve had an exploded Maxell on my Logicboard, cleaned it up a little, repaired some traces, so the pattern isn’t that unusual. My main problem is: I turned the Mac on for the first time, turned it off and now it won’t turn back on again. Nothing. Completely dead. Any clues?
