A list of puns related to "Masri"
I apologize if this has already been asked but does anyone know a website or something that teaches Egyptian Arabic for free? I just recently got rid of Duolingo after figuring out that it was teaching me Modern Standard Arabic and doesn't offer any Arabic dialects at all. I want Egyptian Arabic specifically because (to my understanding, pls correct me if I'm wrong) it seems to be the most useful. Thanks in advance!
There are 8 plural patterns for Broken plurals. Is there any specific/helpful way to determine which patterns apply to which words, or is it just a matter of memorizing the pattern that every word takes?
Thanks!
Random question but I was wondering what brand has the best Rooz Al Masri/Egyptian Rice?
I am currently learning Egyptian Arabic and I have a question.
I have heard that the Masri dialect is widely understood by most Arabs in the world.
My question is, do you, as someone who speaks Masri, understand other Arabic dialects such as Shami and Khaleeji? Do you only understand a little bit or is it very clear?
Thank you in advance and please feel free to give me some tips.

As a muslim Egyptian who lives in the west, I love my religion and though I don't indulge with any Egyptian politics(because people disagreeing makes you enemies, which is unfortunate as I wish people could agree to disagree more). Naturally though, it does upset me when I hear that Egypt, who has contributed to Islam and research so hugely through Al Azhar and it's medieval institutions and rulers is now from what I've heard from friends back in Egypt is becoming increasingly atheist. Is this true? If so why is this happening? I kinda feel sometimes that this geel of egyptians twerk a lot for the west, is this another example of that?
Hi everyone, I am taking Arabic 1 in college and it will be the only Arabic I am free to take in college. My professor teaches us a lot of MSA but also Masri. Probably about a 60-40 ratio. After this course going into the summer I want to REALLY grind in Arabic because right now during school it is really tough.
The question I have is, should I learn Masri or MSA? I understand the importance of MSA especially being a reverted Muslim, but also I am a person that wants to connect with others and I always felt Masri is a great way to start due to a lot of Arabs understanding it. Please let me know, thanks!
Hey guys. I was wondering if anyone compiled any vocabulary list with Arabic letters from this book https://www.amazon.com/Colloquial-Arabic-Levantine-Complete-Beginners-ebook/dp/B014KS6DE4.
I am disappointed as the author doesn't use the Arabic script in the book. To me that's counterproductive. If you know of a similar book that uses the script, feel free to let me know. Thanks x
