A list of puns related to "Mardi Gras"
Just like as the title says, I definitely respect it and the history of it but overall with the whole floats and throwing beads, I dislike it.

It's been a couple years since we've had one of these. Time to shout out what parade(s) you're riding/walking/stumbling in this year. If you're on a float let folks know which one and which side.
Parades will be here quickly. Get your signs ready!
Krewe of Nefertiti is 30-JAN
Chewbacchus is 5-FEB
Krewe Boheme is 11-FEB
Krewe du Vieux is 12-FEB
Krewedelusion is 12-FEB
True backstory: We are a tight-knit group of guys+girl and one of us recently sold his company for way more money than any of us will ever dream of having. Last month he bet us that the Buffalo Bills would win the Superbowl, and if they didn't, he would take take us all to NOLA with all expenses paid. He lost that bet and is making good on his side of things and has already booked flights and hotel rooms for Feb 27 through Mar 3.
Anyway, we're looking for fun things to do, and this sub's posts have been immensely helpful already (just using the search, the Mardi Gras survival post, all helpful!). But what else? How can we juice Mardi Gras in pandemic times for a fun experience? What about other experiences, not just bars? We love drinks to accompany activities and we want to be perpetually buzzed, but just not trashed (hence no bottle service). Also, no adult entertainment, the sponsor has requested this and it will be honored.
Thanks so much for any help!!
Hey everyone, my friend and I (both girls in our 20s) are looking to come to Mobile this year for Mardi Gras. We know nothing about Mardi Gras, but knowing it originated in Mobile and that NOLA's celebrations may be a little much, we figured we would check out Mobile. I'm looking at the Mystics of Time website for parade schedules. We have the last two weekends in February free and were wondering which parades we should hit. I'd assumed the downtown ones are the most fun but mystics of time vs maids of mirth vs mobile mystics, etc., I don't know how to differentiate between these parades. Although we don't want the craziness of NOLA, we also don't want a dead scene or one that is too family friendly lol. Also any sites of interest to hit in the area? I've been looking at visiting Fairhope, Dauphin Island, Callaghans social club, etc.
Just as the title says, wondering if the parades are family events or total debauchery like NOLA.
I know a bunch of people who have been hoping to go to Mardi Gras the last couple of years, but haven't due to...well, you know. So I was thinking of putting together a package of stuff for a few people. They don't necessarily know much about the city or actual Mardi Gras, so I was thinking some real basic stuff like Pat O's Hurricane Mix, a King Cake mix, maybe some beads. Has anyone put together a Mardi Gras package for anyone or have any ideas? I'm trying to do a few of these so I'm looking to avoid shipping actual King Cakes (too expensive) or anything perishable/questionable to ship (i.e. booze).
I'll be in NOLA with 4 other friends on similar dates as the super rich guy. I saw that post and there were some great ideas in there, unfortunately many (not all!) out of reach.
A few I was very interested in, which leaves me with some questions.
Thank y'all!
Is anyone else nervous that Mardi Gras will be cancelled again? Seems like it's heading in the wrong direction. I wasn't concerned at all, but in the last week things are looking bad...
A bit earlier to be asking this but me and my friends are gonna be celebrating mardi gras for the first time
Hey everyone π My wife and I are going on the Mardi Gras this upcoming March, and we werenβt sure if they were still offering the complementary specialty dining. We saw many people on YouTube talking about how Cucina del Capitano and Chibang were complementary for the inaugural season, but we were sure if this period was over. We tried contacting Carnival customer service, but they said they werenβt ever aware of it being complementary at all.
I don't know if anyone has been reading the Star Observer, but the AGM is coming up for Mardi Gras and it seems like the more right wing members are trying to sue Pride in Protest and CARR for protesting the religious freedoms bill: https://www.facebook.com/StarObserver/posts/5097349686962360
OTOH Pride in Protest are trying to get Mardi Gras to take a stand on the religious freedoms bill, transition leave, sex worker rights, and over-policing and calling a march for Mardi Gras https://www.facebook.com/events/3137616226470144. I'm going to be going to the AGM to vote down the motions for a court case and expelling, and to support protesting the religious freedoms bill.
If you agree, then it'd be great to get in touch!!
havent had a kings cake to celebrate mardi gras in a while- anyone have reccomendations on the best kings cake in town?
We are a new couple interested in exploring the lifestyle but honestly havenβt a clue where to start. Weβve been searching but havenβt entirely found anyone that seemed like a match.
So we started looking at clubs in our area and found some good reviews on TPA but at the same time those posts seemed to be a bit dated. The Pleasure Garden in Philly didnβt seem bad either but that sounds like itβs in a sketchy, tough to get to area.
I also want to add that we actually felt like going not on a newbie night might benefit us and were looking for whichever maybe might have the best Mardi Gras event too.
Thanks in advanced!
Manny Randazzo isn't currently shipping from NOLA. Anybody know where to get a delicious King Cake of my dreams. Saw some gross looking one at Sam's Club.
Jackson/Madison/Brandon/Pearl/Ridgeland whereever! I'll drive to get that sumbitch.
SSIA. Would love 3 or 4 for my house. I don't have the patience or space to make them so I was hoping someone here was creative or could point me to a friend who is creative. All of the sites Im finding online are already sold out. TIA.
Edit: Mardi Gras deco should actually come down ash wed. Then Easter goes up.
