I understand Dengist critiques of Mao and the need to build a socialism that is capable of surviving in the 21st century, but whenever I read anything written by Mao I find it really inspiring. I think if you're reading Mao and keeping in mind the historical context and relevancy then maoism isn't a bad thing?

I get that this tends to be a hot topic in leftist circles. Especially since Chairman Gonzalo tends to be a controversial figure. Do you see MLM as the next evolution of Marxist/Communist theory?

The primary difference between the two is that MLM was formally formulated in Peru by the Shining Path, and MZD Thought is the Chinese application of Marxism-Leninism implemented by Mao Zedong himself. The Peruvian, Colombian, Nepalese, and Filipino Maoists adhere MLM, leaving the Naxals in India and the Maoist Communist Party of the US (the latter not engaged in People’s War) as the sole representatives of Marxism-Leninism-Mao Zedong Thought in the present day. There are also deviations of Maoism such as Hoxhaism, although Hoxha is more or less MZD Thought for white supremacists.

I adhere to Marxism-Leninism-Maoism as taught primarily by the Peruvian and Filipino Maoist guerrillas. However I’m curious as to the positions of other Maoists, and would like other Maoists to comment the ideological line that they follow. I’m very curious about Maoists’ feelings of Abimael Guzmán, who is the most polarizing figure between the MLM and MZD Thought split in ideology. If you’re a Hoxhaist, comment your thoughts as well.

I think Jaiden should make a video on maoism like other YouTubers (a good example is Sisyphus55 who once talked about the unabomber and Noam Chomsky) who talk about stuff like philosophy. title. I wanna know if the "New Synthesis of Communism" put forth by Bob Avakian (theoretical leader of the Revolutionary Communist Party USA) is considered form of Marxism-Leninism-Maoism and if it's not, then why?

I've been on this subreddit long enough to assume Marxism-Leninism is the main problem attracting most of the tankie population and Marxism as a standalone ideology is actually pretty solid, given the way users here are specifically critical about ML. I am, however, curious about the reception of Maoism here and what do people here think about Mao Zedong's take on Marxism compared to how infamously known ML came to be in a negative way.

I understand the importance of the contributions of Chairman Gonzalo, but why is Maoism a “higher stage” of Marxism? Does this mean that Marxism-Leninism is fundamentally outdated? Why? Are there inherent problems or limits to Marxism-Leninism that make it the inferior path as opposed to MLM?

i am wondering if maoism has an equivalent to stalin’s “the foundations of leninism.” i am becoming increasingly interested in maoism as a tendency but am not sure where to find a consolidation of its advancements / what differentiates it from marxism-leninism
