A list of puns related to "Lottery Machine"
About twice a year in r/ontario, someone posts a link to this , which is a little song that the lottery printer machine plays when it scans a winning lottery ticket.
I'm wondering if lottery machines in QuΓ©bec also play a little song, too? Or is the most you get, when you give the convenience store cashier your winning ticket, is a smile and a congratulation from that clerk?
Never seen this before that's crazy

Hi,
I walk past a lottery scratcher machine at the grocery store a few times a week, and I check the display to see if there's any unused credit on the machine.
A few weeks ago I noticed that there was a $1 credit left on the machine.
The two rules are:
The odds of a scratcher ticket for $2 is about 1:9 to win the two lowest prizes: a free $2 ticket, or $3.
I wound up inserting a dollar to get a ticket at half price. Naturally, the ticket wasn't a winner.
My game theory question is this: Is the player better of ignoring the credit and forfeiting $1, or adding their own $1 for a chance at a cash prize that's artificially larger due to the discount?

Does any know how many tickets are loaded per game? E.g. a $30 scratcher contains 20 in a pack, so do they load just one pack per game?
I found a unique project that launched yesterday! Amnext is a token with two fun and rewarding lottery mechanics, pool staking, affiliate programs with a solid Doxxed team behind it. There's over 10K+ in TG, and the community seems fantastic!
It launched yesterday on Pancakeswap V2 at 16:00 UTC!
AMC Staking Machine Launching today (July 16th). Lifetime Lottery Ticket and Prize Pool's later this month!
π° The next big thing in Defi!
Amnext is an ecosystem developed on the Binance Smart Chain that turns saving money into a game. It does this by combining the power of blockchain technology, smart contracts, Decentralized Applications (Dapps), and a pinch of fun. It is a savings game that gives you a potentially huge upside and minimal downside.
There are two types of lotteries. The first one combines an innovative feature called the Lifetime Lottery Ticket designed to work as an affiliate program. The second one lets users join the lottery by depositing funds into the prize pools and receive back No-Loss Tickets, which entitle them to win prizes until they remove the funds from the prize pools. At the end of each day, Multiple lucky winners get the pool prizes and their tickets back. However, what makes this game unique is that players who don't win also get their tickets back. Thus, everyone involved keeps their money! To fund the prizes, Amnext Lottery uses the interest earned on staking pools using the purchased tickets.
π° Features:
Prize Pools The Prize Pools are pools of funds whose accrued interest is distributed as prizes. The concept is well-established and otherwise known as "no loss lotteries" or "prize savings accounts." All prize games created by the protocol share the same fundamental characteristics. (Comming later this Month)
Lifetime Ticket Lottery tickets are valid for life. Users can buy lifetime tickets and get the opportunity to win grand prizes for the rest of their life. (Comming later this Month)
Yield Sources Amnext has a staking protocol named AMC Machine; it will be used as the yield prize generator for the AMC Lifetime Pool and the primary AMC Prize Pool. Other Prize Pools will use Venus Protocol as the yield prize generator.
Loot Box The Loot Box is an incentive in AMC tokens added to the Grand Prizes of the Prize Pools. The Loot Box is generated from the 5% of the AMC minted per block.
AMC Machine Users can stake AMC Tokens and generate more AMC to increase their profits significantly. (Launching Today July 16t

Anyway, we recently got these lottery machines, don't know what they're called, but basically people can play on them, win money and come to the register and cash it out. Now, these aren't like a scratcher or online lottery tickets where they can just take it with them to another store and cash them out. They MUST cash it out here and it's only valid the day they won.
First problem, we don't have a working money order machine. We're supposed to, but since the franchisee came, it broke down and he never got it fixed. I also don't think he'll get it fixed anytime soon. This would help us with those few hundred dollar wins.
Second problem, he wants us to keep around $100+ in the drawers at all times, which honestly is like an invitation to getting robbed, we all work alone too. I work 3rd shift, so safety is an issue.
Third problem. Manager has asked him what we are to do if they win a large amount and we do not have the money in the drawer. He wants US to pay them with our own money and that he will pay us back. I don't have enough money to just give out and wait for him to repay me, he don't pay me enough to do that.
For those wondering, the machines are called Pennsylvania Skill Machines
Iβve seen Lottery Vending Machines in other states and cities; are there any in the Shreveport area?
Does anyone else just crack up at that?
He announces his pick so intently, seriously, & loud. And its like Whoa, Bubba is here, and near a mic!
(for the record, I'm a Bubba fan and want more of him on the show)
So someone won $5k. Now everyone is playing scratch offs
If lottery machines are allowed to report what numbers you picked for your ticket before the daily draw. That could let them know what numbers to exclude to avoid giving massive payouts. Since the lottery draw numbers are computer generated now in some states.
Its like asking someone to guess how many fingers you're sticking out behind your back, but then telling them exactly how many fingers you're sticking out before they guess.
Instead if they want to confirm that your ticket matches, they should report a hash of your numbers plus a 128 bit salt that is printed on the back of your ticket.
That way they don't get access to the numbers you picked, but can still verify that you did pick those numbers since trying to brute force a hash match would be too timely, costly, and technically difficult.
Some states have already had multiple cases of fraud in their lotteries, including fixing numbers so they choose who wins.
Can someone explain to me, why, I, someone in maintenance & moving to grocery being given a CBL & now academy assignments for the f'ing lottery machine? I'm not even register-trained, lol. I'm gonna go ahead and ask our Coach to see if I even need to complete the academy assignments on it.
That's my half-hearted rant for the day!
Are the lottery tickets machine at publix cash only? how exactly do they work do you need to purchase them then scratch them off at the customer service desk?
We sell lottery. We have one of those fancy new lottery terminals that has a huge touch screen plus a credit card reader, barcode scanner and two different slots - one for playslips and one for cash.
Invariably some customer comes in, asks for help with using the machine, tells me what they want, and then DOESN'T let me finish telling them what to do and instead - again invariable - hits the wrong thing.
These machines don't give you second chances. If you put a $20 in, tell me you want a $5 scratch off, then you push a $20 scratch off and hit buy now while I'm in the middle of saying "That's a $20 scratch off not $5", guess what darlin' - you're stuck with it.
Don't like that it's $20? Don't freaking go random button pushing when I'm trying to tell you that you just picked the wrong ticket. Now you want the $5 ticket? Ok - put $5 more in. There's no such thing as refunds on that machine.
Whine whine bitch bitch but of course, it can't be THEIR fault that they just randomly hit buttons and didn't get what they actually wanted...
I hate lottery customers.
State lotteries are complicated as there's 50 different sets of rules they're operated by so i'm wondering what it was like in your state/states you've been. No good google info on this without diving into actual law so i want to ask here. If you're uncomfortable naming your state you can just name your region its fine.
Does your state have lottery ticket/scratch off vending machines? I'm surprised we did in NY but i haven't seen them in a while. Since i was 14 and a customer to 16 as a cashier i always loved dumping $5 into the scratcher machine while on the clock. From running the family numbers when the jackpot was high on regular number lotto to the small thrill of a scratcher shit was great.
Lost all it's luster after i turned legal to buy them tho lol
I'm American obviously but I remembered recently parts of Europe used to have cigarette vending machines and thought to myself "man that's kinda comparable to lotto machines that dont check age i used to use.
I can buy my booze without standing in line for 20 minutes! When you go in there is this sign that says "no scratch tickets" and another that says "lottery broken" and a couple of bored looking cashiers behind the bullet proof glass
Then you tell them what kind of cheap swill you want and you are gone in 30 seconds, tops
Hooray!
Hello people of Taiwan, I heard that your government ensures ALL purchases from all retail shops must come with a receipt from the POS machine. It has a lottery number printed on the reverse for you to claim a lottery. This system was done to make sure all transactions are properly accounted for, for tax purposes. Is this true?
