She gave me a mince pie to take away with me as I was masked up and didn't want to go in for her safety. Very wholesome experience all round, and made a new friend. ☺
The plumber confirmed he won't be paid for fixing her toilet, apparently admitting it was 'their mistake' actually means it was his mistake. He said he didn't mind, but I slipped him £50 on his way out.

My in laws are visiting for Christmas. They are a bit late arriving and my MIL has been texting me updates of their travel, rather than her son. Because of course, I am his wife so I play the role of personal assistant/secretary to my husband who shouldn’t be disturbed by such trivial matters as when our guests are arriving. She also only communicates with me regarding our child or any babysitting that they offer to do. It’s really hard to ask my husband to help share the mental load when society collides to make it the woman’s responsibility too.
