Not necessarily whitewashed, because I feel like this word could be applied without negative connotations. I could swear there's a word for a biography/documentary or biopic that is like unabashedly praising of the subject.
Not just on Reddit, but all over society as a whole, we have become a country that not only tolerates but straight away “champions” single motherhood.
“Oh look how strong she is! She’s ‘doing it all^tm !”
No she’s not. Choosing to raise a child without a father in the picture is not only a burden on society and the government, she is also placing her child behind the 8 ball in so many ways it’s impossible to list them all. Children of single mothers are statistically way more likely to fail in school, fail to develop socially, abuse drugs and alcohol, and wind up in the juvenile and later the adult justice systems.
She is collecting tons and tons of government assistance, as well as child support, money that she often blows on shit that has nothing to do with raising the child(ren). Meanwhile, she is out sourcing the raising of her young children to minimum wage daycare center employees while she goes off to work a wage slave job of her own.
Ostracizing a child from their father is one of the worst things you can do to a child, ESPECIALLY boys. A woman can raise a boy, but a woman cannot raise a man.
Ladies, do you wanna know why you have an entire generation of pussified, weak, emasculated “man-boys” that are repulsive to you? This is why. You’re teaching your sons to “respect women” to such a point that they wind up as disgusting bronies you wouldn’t want to fuck in a million years. Thank your single mothers. They never had a father to teach them how to “be a man”.
Single motherhood is a travesty and a scourge on our society, not “empowered women doing it all”.
