Edit: Ich möchte hier für ein breites Verständnis von Kunst und Kultur werben, also nicht gleich Gemälde und Theater (die sie natürlich sein können). Kunst definiere ich hier auf die Schnelle als Gestaltung, die Reaktionen im Betrachter auslöst, und Kultur als identitätsstiftende Gruppenprozesse, die sich auf gemeinsame Werte, Rituale, Erfahrungen und Überzeugungen beziehen. (Eher der Theaterbesuch als soziales Event als das Theater als Gebäude, wenn ihr versteht, was ich meine.)

Ok diese Frage ist ein Klischee. Was ist Kunst? Ich vermute, dass wenn die Mods das sehen, sie "Uh-oh" sagen werden. Aber ehrlich gefragt, ist Kunst ein Gemälde, das von einem Meistermaler gemalt wurde? Ist ein Lied von Led Zeppelin Kunst? Oder das Buch "100 years of Solitude" von Gabriel Garcia? Die meisten Leute würden diesen Sachen zustimmen.
Aber ist ein Rothko Gemälde Kunst, auch wenn es "nur ein rotes Quadrat" ist? Und was können wir über "Fountain" von Marcel Duchamp sagen, die Skulptur, die wirlich nur ein altes Porzellan-Urinal ist? Und was ist mit der Banane, die an die Wand geklebt wurde?
Ich würde "Ja" sagen. Sie sind alle in der Tat Kunst. Kunst für mich ist der höchste Weg der Kommunikation. Alle Sachen, die aus einem Grund gemalt oder geschrieben oder gespielt wurden, sind Kunst.
Warum ist "Fountain" von Marcel Duchamp Kunst? Weil wenn er ein Urinal im Museum plaziert hat, haben die Leute genau gefragt, was er wollte. "Warum ist das Kunst? Wer kann sich entscheiden, ob das Kunst ist oder nicht? Sollen wir Kuratoren haben, die un sagen, was Kunst ist?".
Und Die Banane? Warum hat Maurizio Cattelan eine Banane an die Wand geklebt, und es Kunst genannt? Weil Maurizio eine merkwürdige Beziehung mit dem Kunstmarkt hat. Er wollte, dass wir uns fragen "warum ist dieser Scheiß so teuer? Wer entscheidet den Wert der Kunst? Sollen wir den Kunstmarkt ernst nehmen?"
Und sind das nicht wichtige Fragen?
