A list of puns related to "Kip Thorne"
I had previously lent out my copy to a friend/neighbor in college and never got it back, wanted to replace it this year and saw the prices were crazy and no new prints available, guessing they did another print because new copies are available once again
I watched Interstellar recently and loved it. Really appreciated them trying to have as much real science as possible while still trying to tell an entertaining story. I understand that noted physicist Kip Thorne was a science advisor on the movie, and that he actually released a book called The Science of Interstellar that deals with...well, the science in the movie Interstellar.
I would love to take a deeper dive into some of the ideas and concepts presented in the movie so I'm wondering - is this a good book to inform myself on black holes, wormholes, relativity etc.? How in-depth is the science in the book? I'm very much a layperson but I have read a number of pop-sci astronomy/cosmology books so I at least have a familiarity with most of these concepts.
Thoughts?
Has anyone read this book? I want to buy it but it is really expensive and I do not know if it will be worth the money.
In the solo episode (124) about time travel, Sean explained the wormhole-based time machine, which I feel like I've misunderstood something, possibly due to English not been my first language. Or probably due to incomplete understanding of the subjects in hand.
Why you would not see the clock of the moving end of the wormhole ticking slower, while it is travelling away and back, 1 tick/2 s on average in this case? And other way around when looking through the hole from the point of view of the moving end. So it could not be used to travel back in time.
If someone could try to explain what im not getting, it would be greatly appreciated. And if my question is confusing I can try to elaborate.
Hi, if anyone would be able to help me or point me in the direction of where I could buy the book that would be amazing. I live in the UK. I would much prefer an actual copy rather than an e-book. Thank you :)
I just re-listened to Kip Thorne's episode from two years ago, and Kip mentioned that he had a new movie in development that he had written with Stephen Hawking and Lynda Obst. Has anyone heard anything about that? I can't even find a single mention of it online.

I have never seen a text book like this at a graduate level. At first it reminded me of the shitty introductory undergraduate textbook which have proliferated through the market. But it actually looks well rounded (and it's by kip Thorne); can't wait to get my hands on it.
PS: I am pleasantly surprised that he included a chapter on random processes.
Edit: After some digging around, it seems like most of the book was adapted from lectures the Authors gave. This page has pdf's of the lectures.
