Following the Great Kantō Earthquake, 22-year-old Ensign Thomas J. Ryan rescued a trapped Japanese woman from the burning Grand Hotel in Yokohama, Japan on September 1, 1923. For his actions, he received the Medal of Honor from President Calvin Coolidge six months later. [900 x 565]

How history of Japan would go different if The 1923 Great Kantō earthquake never happened?

Note: I am not a expert on Japanese history and I am trying to make original content and fictional, but I would try to do. (if I can)

In 09-01-1923, the captain of SS Dongola while anchored the ship in Yokohama's inner harbor, had reported at 11.55 a.m. the ship had commenced to tremble and vibrate violently, leding to Tokyo, Yokohama and other cities being halfy destroyed in flames. resulting in civil unrest following by the disaster and The Kantō Massacre on September on the same year, which left 6,000 Korean residence dead.

But what if all that changed? What if in alternate timeline, The Great Kantō earthquake had never happened?

Imagine another Kanto game but the region is updated to reflect the Kantō region of today.

One thing that's been on my mind for a while is how interesting I think it would be if we got another Kanto game but now it's been redesigned a bit to reflect how much the actual Kantō region has changed in the 25 years since Pokemon was released.

It would be an interesting attempt to cater to both the part of the fanbase that only cares about the original generation and those who've been with the series a long time and would like to see something new.

Playing Persona 5 got me wondering what the Pokemon version of something like the Sky Tree could be or if they expand the region, imagine the likes of Akihabara or Shibuya reflected in the game. Even if it'll probably never happen, it's something I'm actually really interested in thinking about.

Route suggestions in northern Honshu (Tōhoku/Kantō), Japan?

I’m currently on a ferry departing for Sendai after 2.5 weeks of touring Hokkaido (which was great). I now have two more weeks to tour before I end in Tokyo.

Any routes/areas in Tōhoku/Kantō that people recommend? I’m averaging 80km a day so I can meander to Tokyo.

I’m a little sad to be leaving Hokkaido - everything except Kushiro - Tomakomai (lots of trucks, narrow roads) was great.
